Really!!!! Good reviews for this place, The Granite Shop (TGS) ". . Let's be serious. Steve (TGS) and his crew SEEM like a great quality deal but. Buyer Beware. After spending a considerable amount of money picking Quartz at Pacific Shores Stone (PSS) for resurfacing and adjusting the height of parts of our kitchen counters and resurfacing our 3 bathrooms. PSS recommended three installers-one of which was The Granite Shop (TGS) - which we chose-because Steve Hopper (TGS) seemed to be genuine and honest----surprise!!!! So the nightmare began with the installation by his incompetent - unsupervised - installation crew. The problem began when the quartz had to be -believe it or not was fabricated on premises( in our kitchen and bathrooms) ...(holes cut for cook top, and sink fixtures) quartz dust everywhere and I mean everywhere (no prep on their part to cover doorways, etc. (Luckily we covered some of our furniture before hand). --Although they seemed to sometimes use a shop vac-it did nothing to prevent dusting of the rooms and adjoining rooms with toxic quartz dust. The "this old house installation crews"--would have been appalled. The installations, after the mess in the bathrooms, were fine, but the kitchen installation was incredibly poor quality. We know this because the tile installer said he would have to rebuild the walls because the gap between the quartz surface and the wall too large. He estimated that the install was faulty and suggested a reinstall properly by TGS. OK bottom line for BUYER BEWARE. . Steve paid for some of the cleaning of the house, but refused to readjust the quartz tops in the kitchen to butt correctly against the backsplash on a large portion of the kitchen slab. He insisted after examination that the installation was "adequate". Its hard for us to believe that the word "adequate" was used because it was a slap in the face of "promisedquality and satisfaction" of the Granite Shop. And now the "fixing" of their problem is going to cost us hundreds of dollars should have never happened if TGS hired competent installers. Our justified opinion NEVER USE THE GRANITE SHOP.

Picked out and priced granite in the shop on 8/29/13. For a 22" x 33" single sink vanity, I was priced at $590, which included installation of "Gold Antique" Granite, demo and removal of the old as well as an "ogee" edge on two sides. The shop requires that 50% payment be submitted prior to fabrication and installation. Steve (the owner) came out on the 5th of September and verified that the dimensions I submitted were correct, and I did receive a call from the office to verify the type of holes needed for my faucet. I was responsible for the removal of the faucet and the disconnection of the plumbing before the install took place. Install took place on the 24th of September and was completed in about an hour. There is very minimal scarring to the wall where the faux marble was removed (cut away), but it is easy to repair with some spackle and paint. I reinstalled the faucet and reran the plumbing myself. I have used these guys for every single bathroom vanity in my home and the granite in my kitchen and I'm always happy with the work that they have done and the timeline on the work. Very pleased!
Description of Work: Had faux marble vanities in upstairs bath removed and granite vanity put in.

The Granite Shop has odd hours if you work full time. They are open from 7am until 5:30pm Monday through Thursday. I went to the shop to pick out my remnant piece of granite, and to choose a quartz manufacturer for my master bath. and quot;Golden Beachand quot; was one of the granite colors they had a small piece left over from another job, and that is the one I tagged prior to getting an estimate. I also submitted my color choice on Cambria (quartz). Within 24 hours, I received my estimate via FAX. I called them back to give them my approval and was FAXed the contract, which stipulates 50% deposit prior to work being started. I mailed my signed contract back with the deposit, and specific instructions on how I wanted the holes for the faucets to be cut. Because there are different types of faucets I wanted to be specific about which ones I intended to use BEFORE the milling and delivery to avoid any issues. It took about 4 weeks between my mailing my 50% payment and the delivery of my product (it took longer because Cambria is custom ordered). My new counters were delivered on the 25th of April and the installers were on time and punctual, although some might be and quot;put offand quot; by the dress and overall and quot;lookand quot; of my installers (Harley T-Shirts and Work pants), I knew this to be the general dress and it didn't impact the quality of their work in any way . I paid up for them to remove the old counters, and that was done to my satisfaction. Very little and quot;scarringand quot; was made around the area where the cultured marble was removed and my existing mirrors were not broken or harmed. It was well worth what I paid them to have them do the demo. The entire removal and the mounting of the new tops as well as the undermount sinks took about 2 to 2.5 hours. The crew even took a broom and swept up the mess before they left. I did disconnect my plumbing myself before the installers arrived. I installed my own new faucets and did my own plumbing reconnections. The Granite Shop's Contract stipulates that they do NOT do plumbing work or reconnections. I am VERY pleased with my countertops and would recommend them to a friend or family. It is very likely that I will once again choose this company to do further renovations on my guest bath next year.
Description of Work: I had The Granite Shop pull out the cultured marble in my master bath and half bath and install Cambria (Quartz) in the master and exotic granite in my half bath.

The staff at the Granite Shop were helpful. They were prompt and able to complete our project very quickly. They even suggested the best slab of granite based upon the L-shaped countertop in our kitchen. We are planning to add a tile back splash in the future so the guys who installed the countertop worked hard to shape the edges for a close fit against the walls of our kitchen. One of the installers even asked for a broom to clean up the floor once they were completed. You will need to disconnect the plumbing prior to installation as they will not do that for you. I did feel a bit rushed on my decision and when I asked about remnant pieces for the smaller sections of countertops, I did not receive a direct answer. Overall, we are pleased with the end result.

They were really good. They came out and everybody was nice and professional. They were fine on the price. They were ahead of time. The time that they gave us was accurate.
