Small one woman business with occasional seasonal help, we raise 20,000 organic tomato plants in 31 varieites as well as a dozen varieties of peppers. Squash, cucumbers, other vegetable transplants and herbs. I retail fruit trees and vines as well as flowers, shrubs and trees for this area. hours are decide by the weather and season. generally monday thru Saturday 8 am to 5pm or tempretures between 45 and 90 degrees. spring is daylight to dusk! rain or heat, I'll take a day off here and there. I took a short ride to Byhalia after discovering Angel Wings Greenhouse on Facebook (www.facebook.com/AngelWingsGreenhouse).
I am very glad that I did. Donna Taggert personally met me, discussed plantings that would work in the front of my home (I showed her a few pictures on my iphone) and gave me great discounts on quite a few plants and trees. Everything was reasonably priced to begin with, I came home with a pick up truck bed loaded with plantings. She gave me fantastic advice (I'm a transplanted Northerner, our growing practices are much different) so I needed all the advice I could get.
I purchased a beautiful small fig tree, some portulaca (moss roses), lantana, verbena and a whole bunch of other plants. I was thoroughly entertained and enlightened during the whole experience.
I can tell that Donna strives to provide great value and impart her knowledge to her customers. Check out her facebook page, she answers a lot of questions.
Her prices can not be beat. I'll be making a few more road trips to her business this spring, I can't wait to get tomatoes, peppers, and onions.
She is also on Craigslist under Farm and Garden - right now she has onions and muscadines etc. and of course a lot of trees etc.
