This company was right on with everything they told me they would do. They put in new windows(that ibought somewhere else so he had to cut some brick to make them fit). They completely redone the fireplace Iin beautiful rock.Reconfigured the kitchen and bathrooms. Refinished my floors and put on a new roof. We were updating our home with new windows, which he did not measure for and had to chop pieces of the brick away to make them fit. He did not cover the holes he had showing after chopping up the brick. He was to use top quality materials but used 2nd and 3rd and sometimes already used materials. He used the cheapest metal for our roofing telling me it was the best. It was 29 gauge the lowest quality. He painted the house with the wrong color. When I confornted him about this he said my husband had changed the color. That was completely untrue as my husband was working overseas at the time. He painted the outside of the house first; then pressure washed. When I confronted him of this he told me it would show how much scraping they needed to do. Never did they scrape and within 2 months the paint was peeling which I showed him. His response was "we will fix that". That was his usual answer to everything I pointed out to him that was wrong and needed to be redone. He did not measure for the tub causing him to have to move the door down by 5". He did not tell me that until he had already done it. He put in a cheap front door that was smaller than the original and it is obvious from looking at the house from the street. He did not replace the window shutters after taking the old ones down. He took the old windows without asking me. Those windows were worth $50 each at flea markets which he no doubt knew. He ordered the wrong bay window which was huge. He did not replace it with the window I had picked out, but put in the same windows he had in the rest of the house once again distorting the look of the outside . He didn't replace molding around the 2 doors he had changed in the house so I now have to hire someone to come in to finish that and around the windows. All electrical work he did stopped working a few days later. When I told him, I once again got his answer of I will fix that. He never did. He did not follow instructions given to him even when I told him so. He would say back that that was what I asked for. When tiling the bathrooms they did not wipe down the tile correctly so there are streaks of the calking everywhere which cannot be removed. Many times he would rush into the house saying he needed an answer right then on a certain item. He gave me no time to do any research. He had to have the answer THEN! It would be 2 or more days before he arrived with the item which he gave me the receipt for which I had to pay. He would come usually once a day to make a quick inspection of how things were going. He twice asked me for a loan of $3000 which I declined. Suddenly on a Friday he rushed into the house telliing the 2 workmen they had to be done that day. There was at least another week or more of work still to be done. When they left, they never returned. Two weeks later Mr. Click called to say he would come to finish up some things. He did not come on the day we had settled on nor the next day. Two weeks went by and I called him. His wife answered telling me he had been in an accident and she was trying to get him back to MS from LA. I told her there were things he still needed to do and she said they were insured. I said okay and waited for her to give me the insurance information. She said she had to go. CLICK. My husband wrote him a letter informing him of the things that we were not satisfied with. He did not respond. We have seen a lawyer who advised us to get an estimate of what it would cost to fix the mistakes. We have tried that, but all reputable contractors say they do not have the time. Only one came and he looked at everything but after a week said he did not have the time to work up an estimate. We have been using the BBB to help resolve this situation. Though Mr. Click has responded his explaination contained half-truths and at times out and out lies. I do not believe that he is insured else why would he refuse to give us the name of the company. Please do not make the mistake of using this company. You will definately regret it. As a post note; Mr. Click told me he had just finished a job for a woman and when he went to get the money she still owed on the estimate he told her it would be $1000 more. That should have been a red flag to me right then. Yet he seemed so sincere and said he was a Christian. Check out thoroughly when hiring a contractor and do stay away from this man.
Description of Work: Very little that he was hired to do. He did not contract any of the work out, but used his own "crew" that was only 1 man and his son who participated as a go-for. This man had little or no experience and was no more than a do-it-yourselfer. The "contractor" would not give us a written estimate even though we asked several times for one. I would write down the estimate he gave us for each job. Yet he constantly came to me with receipts that he expected me to pay.
