+ -1 moreTech told us we needed to replace the evaporator coil and then said we may as well replace the whole unit...said it would cost the same amount which was 2200.00. He said since it was out of warranty, we would have to pay this huge amount. When I asked him why it was so much cheaper (800.00) to do the other unit in 2011, he said the price goes up.
Description of Work: Tune up on ONE unit.

+ -1 moreThe company told us when the repairman would be there, called when he was on his way and arrived on time. He replaced a part and had it working again in no time. He did tell us that the unit was on its last leg and would need to be replaced shortly. We decided to go ahead and replace the unit now before it breaks down again and also take advantage of a tax credit I knew about that was to expire shortly.
Description of Work: Checked furnace that was not heating.

+ -1 moreThey were able to come earlier than originally stated and called me. Arrived at the new time and repaired the unit promptly. We know that this unit will need to be replaced shortly because of its age. We are going to wait until it dies since we have another unit and can live comfortably without it for a few days if we have to. We will use Barnes Heating and Air to install a replacement.
Description of Work: Repaired downstairs AC unit. Added freon and found a slow leak.

+ -1 moreOverall, I was very dissapointed in the service that he said he would do especially with the drain. The whole project is supsect in my mind. There was nothing in it for the man that came out today to tell me what problems he notices. The fees were very excessive as well.
Description of Work: The two things Barnes Heating & Air said they did was disbuted by the man today who said that he believes that Barnes Heating & Air didn't clean out the drain. This man today said that the build up in the drain was from a very long period of time. There was no way that this company came out to clean the drain it was completely clogged. He added 3 lbs. of coolant and the man who came today said that he does not believe that that much was put in. 3 lbs is the maximum amt. that my unit would hold which means that it would of been bone dry. If it was bone dry then my pipes would of froze up. He was very suspect in what this company had told me. The man today felt that the price was very high as well. The reason the man came to my house was because there was a leak in our unit so it prompted us to call today. Also, the $69.99 coupon they sent me in the mail for service was never taken off my bill.
