I don't even know where to begin with this NIGHTMARE of a project. Jim West brought 2 general workers to our house to remove the tile shower and install the 3 piece fiberglass shower. Jim did not hang around to do any work he would pop in and out to check on things once or twice a day. The workers didn't seem to have the right tools, they took a sledgehammer to the old tile shower that ended up busting the sheetrock in the adjoining room which was my son's nursery (He was going to be born 2 after the date this project began, so we let them know it had to be done promptly.) They were going to "patch" the busted sheetrock but it was beyond mudding it was destroyed! so my husband ended up having to come out of pocket to replace two entire wall panels of sheetrock. The men did not remove the entire old tile shower like I had anticipated, they busted up what they had to and removed it and covered the rest up with the fiberglass shower. The two workers took breaks constantly, they would work for 15 minutes or so and then they were outside smoking and would go to lunch for over 2 hours. They were constantly going outside to take phone calls. When he noticed that I was not happy, my husband reassured me they would be done in 2 days, which is what Jim West originally quoted on time. They were at our house 4 days and were not finished with their work! They came back on day 5 to try and mud the sheetrock they had busted, but my husband kicked them out and told them he would do it himself- and he did. I was so glad to have them gone. The shower looked fine, I mean, it's a snap together 3 piece fiberglass shower, there is no reason it should have taken them as long as it did to install it. However, they used a very cheap water resistant white plastic panel around the shower and on the ceiling of the shower stall, it just looks terrible. Not happy but I got over it. So, this was installed in a bathroom that only rarely gets used. About 2 months after the work, my husband went to wash a pair of boots in the new shower, and as soon as he turned on the water, the water filled up the bathroom and started flowing out from underneath the shower! Nothing drained!! They did NOT check their work, as the old tile shower drained just fine, it was just a sight for sore eyes which is why we wanted to have it updated. My husband called Jim West to tell him about the shower and he tried to blame it on our pipes and say that it's our fault. We pleaded with him and he seemed unconcerned. He put us off for months and said he would get over to check it when he had time. After about 6 months, he came and looked at it but didn't have the right tools to diagnose the problem. He told us we needed a plumbing company to come out to properly diagnose the problem. He said he would arrange to have a plumber come out, but no one ever came. 13 Months have passed now and the problem still remains. The shower is completely unusable. I am considering hiring an attorney to reclaim our lost money. This contractor does not care after he gets your money and is unresponsive. My husband paid $2,200 for the shower and then whatever his cost and time for the sheetrock he had to fix in my son's nursery. Wasted time and money to say the least. WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY/CONTRACTOR AGAIN.
