TURF GUYS

I had used Turf Guys in 2008 and my experience was fine. So when I needed more landscaping done, I called them again. Sean, the owner, came out to my house within a week of my initial phone call; we walked the property and discussed what needed to be done. That was two months ago and I have not heard back from him since. I will never understand why contractors come out to see the job and then don't even do you the curtesy of sending you an estimate. If they are too busy to even get you an estimate, then they should just tell you that up front. After waiting a couple weeks, I called their office, to check on the estimate and was told it wasn't ready yet. I ended up calling four times total over six weeks in an effort to just get an estimate from them. I was told various things: Sean was out of town, he was still working on it, etc. Now we are 8 weeks out from his initial visit and I still haven't received an estimate or an explanation! Naturally, I contacted other landscapers and am proceeding with the project. I have accepted one of their bids (approx $6500-7000 worth of work). So, if you need landscaping work done, unfortunately I would recommend you look elsewhere.

They overcharged me. I gave me a bid of $12,000 and went up to 16,000. I am not happy with them at all. When the job was done he put a two year warranty on the wall but the wall started tilting after a year and half. When I called him he did not answer my call. This guy said that my wall is tilting, and I spent $16000 with his company. They just wanted the money from me. He was very professional when he came. I saw him on the home show and the wall he did was nice. He did five walls. He put down six or seven pavers. I told him I wanted a driveway in the back. He also put a retaining wall throughout the driveway. I told him I wanted it 80 feet long and 20 feet wide. He put many pavers. He came back and said it will cost another $6,000. I told him that we had agreed on $12,000. I told him I wanted 6 inches of rock in the concrete and he did not do that. They just put half inch. The reason I went with him was because he was professional and he said he was going to put a grid. He did not do it in the first but he did it in the end. I guarantee he did not do all the work the way he said. He did not put the rock in there either. The guy was arrogant. He had the highest bid and it was ridiculous. He never returned my call after that. He can?t put asphalt on a inch of rock. When I asked him he said that he did not do driveway. I don?t know what to do. The quality of work they have done is very bad. He raised the price and it was a bad deal on the whole.

They came out after about seven months when the work started falling apart in the retaining wall portion. He took a look and said he would be right out to repair it. Two and a half years later, it still isn't done. When they were cutting my lawn, one of their guys took a trimmer and tore out a two and a half foot hole and three corner pieces in my siding. They said they would repair it, but they still haven't done so. They did a tremendous job in the landscaping and the lighting, but where it counted in having some longevity in the quality of their service, it didn't happen.

I had him come out and inspect the yard. We talked about what needed to be done. He said he'd get back to me. 4 days later, I called the company because I hadn't heard anything. The people at the office said he would contact me. Again, about 4 days later, no response. I don't intend to call them again.

Turf Guys are knowledgeable in detecting any problems with the lawn. They correct it with the proper treatment. The cost of service is comparable to most lawn care competitors.
