Rost Construction LLC

I just want to warn potential customers of Rost Construction. I contacted Justin, owner of Rost Construction, the end of April, 2017, to get a bid for a new replacement metal roof for our home. He came out fairly quick and returned a bid to me within a couple of days. I was waiting on another bid to come in, so I didn't accept the bid immediately. I called him around the middle of May, 2017, to tell him we accepted his bid and asked about his schedule and when he could start. He informed me he had taken on some new work and would not be able to get to me until sometime mid to late June. I said that would be fine. I emailed him mid June to see where we were falling on his schedule and he responded he was now looking at the end of July. Again, no contact in July. I called him mid July to ask what was going on. I specifically asked him if he still wanted to do my roof, and made sure he wasn't going to leave me high and dry. He assured me that he would do my roof, that he was just really busy. I stupidly believed him. I made mention of the fact that I surely was in front of some of his current jobs. He told me it had been really hot and didn't want to be on my roof. Really? He's a roofer. He told me sometime in September when the weather cooled off. I still had hope. Well, you guessed it. September came and he gave other excuses. I must mention that he originally was going to install the metal roof over my existing shingles, but I emailed him in May just after I accepted his bid to say we wanted the existing shingles removed. He gave me the cost for the added work, which I took it to mean that he was okay with the added work. We talked again the middle of September and he said the reason he was reluctant to do my house was because of taking off the shingles and not going over the existing shingles. My roof was very steep. Plus, he had plenty of easier work. He talked for almost an hour trying to convince me the go back to the original plan and that the bid he gave me was really aggressive. I guess he bid it too cheap. His problem, not mine. I did agree to do it his way, if that meant that he would do my roof. After that phone call, I never heard from him again. I left messages and sent emails and no response. In hind site, he probably did me a favor. I can't imagine what kind of service I would have received for his 10 year work warranty, if something needed fixing, if I could not get him to return my emails or phone calls. This behavior lacks integrity and would not be a good company to do business with. He would rather do new construction, which is easier. During this time, he also had billboards up for new business. No way this is an A+ company.
