After seeking bids from several other are plumbing companies, I decided to go with OJ Laughlin for our second floor laundry installation. Their bid was lower, but not significantly than other bids. I appreciated how professional and thorough they were with the estimate, so I felt comfortable that there would be no surprises. The phone was answered promptly when I called, and if a message was taken the call was always returned quickly. They were also able to start work less than two weeks after I signed the contract. The plumber who did the work was professional, neat and tidy. I would recommend this company to others.

Those guys were great. They made sure everything was working well. They are really good. They cleaned up. They were efficient. They seemed to be very interested in making you happy and that things were done well. He was the most reasonable estimate I got.

The laborer was a very good worker, kept me informed throughout the day, cleaned up concrete chunks, the damaged drain line, the sludge in the Jack-hammed trench. To protect the basement from splatter and debris, he erected a temporary wall...much appreciated. The floor was reseated with cement and the basement was cleaned up nicely. While it took 8 hours for this drain line replacement to be completed, I was very satisfied with O.J. Laughlin Plumbing!

They came to look at my home to place a bid and I never heard another word from them.

My husband decided that he could fix a leaky shower head. After two attempts (and $50 worth of supplies) my husband determined that it was the mechanism itself. He went to Home Depot and consulted ehow. He bought the part and attempted to install it. Things went downhill from there! The shower could not be turned off unless the water to the entire house was turned off! We called OJ Laughlin after hours and they were so courteous and the plumber talked with my husband for a long time trying to get a sense of what was going on..Super Nice!. They were unable to come the next day but came the day after. The plumber was extremely courteous and professional and he explained everything. He took care not to soil anything and all is well now. When we had to use the plumbing for any reason before OJ Laughlin came, we would go to the basement and turn the water on and then turn it off again. It was a comedy act! AND my husband performed a unique feat. He managed to get water to run from the kitchen light fixture! I would use OJ Laughlin again anytime.

The gentlemen who answered the telephone said " why spend $300 in repairs when you can replace for $1.065?" He continued and stated "we don't repair hot water heaters, we replace" My father was in the Union and I remember him talking about this company; that is why I called. I would not have called if there advertisement reflected "new hot water heaters only".

Great! Technician phoned prior to arrival. Completed the replacement quickly; was very friendly and professional. I received a new customer Angie's list discount even though that was not advertised.

They are 2 brothers. They are local. We have always been pleased. We were panicking and they were very responsive. We were recently married in January and we were going on our honeymoon leaving that day. We were going to be picked up to the airport by 4. At 11 o’clock my husband went to the basement to get the suitcases and he just walked into the water. So we called them. He didn’t understand our predicament. They told they would get somebody out by evening. We told them that we have to be in the car and go to the airport by 4. They did respond quickly and had someone out here. There were tree roots in that. They worked hard and got it done for us. We called the insurance company and they had the other company to do the disinfection. They stayed till the evening after we had left. They put out the wallboard and did all the stuff. It’s a good company. They were great. This young man was so polite and professional. It was just amazing. They have always been very good.

I got them out of Angie’s List and they do quality work. They were very prompt. They did excellent work. They were on time, they were here when they said they would and they cleaned up well. They were everything one would expect from a provider. I supplied all the fixtures and I only had to pay for the labor, which was good. It is an average price for any contractor in Saint Louis.

Two days after the pressure reducer was installed, we have a recurrence of the problem. Several calls later and 2 times of taking off of work, the original problem is still not resolved. Continued to call for a solution, now no answer. This company does not stand by its work and obviously we will not be using their "services" again!

It was a clean install - I'm very happy with the job. They were punctual and worked with my schedule. The plumber worked with the city inspector to get the rough in done, without me, which was a real convenience. During the removal of the cast iron, there was a little drywall damage on the opposite wall - that's my only knock on the job.

We have used them multiple times and they are always wonderful. They are on time and efficient, also having great customer service, courteous, and professional. They were also great with the kids.

I would recommend him to others. He was very nice to work with.

All I wanted was an estimate for a drain line for my washing machine. I was told that I would be contacted shortly.......nothing. But that's ok, it's called competition and that's who I went to. Their competition.

Good , I think cost was high!

The disposer I bought was the wrong one for my application but the plumber had one in his truck. The rest of the work went normally and within the estimated time. The only negative...it was 4 days from the call to the service. Since my call was not an emergency (water flooding etc.) I was not a priority. As such, I had 4 days of the kitchen "off-line" washing dishes in the bathroom.

I was under the impression that I would hear something the next day. After waiting 2 weeks for a call back, I called. I was told that the person I needed to talk to was out, but I would get a call the next day. I still didn't get a call. I waited a few more days and called again. After about 2 more days, I got a voice mail which indicated that they were unable to find the part and were not sure that they even had the correct name of the faucet manufacturer because they couldn't find any faucet manufacturer or parts in that name. They wondered if I had info about the faucet from the builder. Using the info from the voicemail, which included the name they got off of the faucet part, I did a quick google search on my computer using the name of the faucet company (that they told me on the phone) and immediately found countless suppliers who offered parts for that faucet manufacturer. I contacted OJ Laughlin and pointed this out. After what seemed like several minutes of fumbling on his computer and repeated requests for me to explain how I found these sites, the representative located them. He indicated that he would pass the info on to the person who orders the parts. A week later I got a call that they had the part and wanted to schedule a visit to put the part in--but they wouldn't be able to come for several days. They installed the part--which unfortunately only partially fixed the problem. It seemed at that point that they washed their hands of the situation and weren't interested in trying to resolve the issue further, saying that the faucet was old. All in all, they were as nice as can be. Unfortunately, being nice doesn't address failure to follow through with communication, inability to locate the part (leaving the customer to find it for them!), and incomplete repair of the stated problem.

It was a very good experience and we were very satisfied.

Called for help for a kitchen sink faucet replaced @18 months ago by another plumber, whom I had called when the faucet started having problems. Was told by the original, selling plumber that Moen under lubricates their equipment from the factory, so they applied silicone grease to the O-rings. 3 months later, the same problem was occuring. I called OJLaughlin - a really nice fellow was sent who told me (after calling Moen in front of me) that the O-rings for my particular faucet had a problem and they were going to send me a kit of new O-rings. The Laughlin fella did not charge me for this visit, saying that when I got the parts, I should call and he would come back. They did, I did and he did -- took him all of 10 minutes to fix my faucet with the parts sent directly from Moen. This guy was honest with me, knew how to handle the problem I was having and did not try to rip me off. I really apprecioated the service.

The part on my kitchen faucet that was broken was a warranty part; the service technician located the part number in my Owner's Manual documentation and called the manufacturer for a replacement part (which arrived to me within a week). During that initial service call the technician took time to show/give me some basic information on plumbing items in my home -- which I greatly appreciated since I live alone and know NOTHING about water shut-off valves, etc. The technician returned per my schedule to install the replacement part. Very good experience.

The man that came was the owner. Called to see if he could come early because of inclement weather. He did the job quickly and went down in the basement to put a "flag" on the place where you could turn the water off for the house. Seeing that I was confined to a scooter, he offered to do other things to help like move something out of the way or get something down that I could not reach. Very helpful and pleasant. He cleaned the garbage disposal with ice. Not sure that I was impressed with that.

I had to call and reschedule multiple times (up to 4 times) an appointment for a plumber to come out and give me a bid for thousands of dollars of work I wanted done to my house. Every time I called I was told that I could just leave information, and they would get back to me. I would wait a week and call back, then they would say the same thing. Finally, I got someone to agree to come out. The day before the gentleman was supposed to come out, I get a call telling me that he is going to have to reschedule from 10 am to sometime after 3 pm. He ends up getting to my house around 3:45pm. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and it seemed like the wait was worth it. However, after he left I waited a week and received no information. I called and was asked who came out to my house. I said I didn't remember, because it had happened so long ago. The gentleman seemed frustrated that he had to look up my information on the computer by my address and name. I was told that the plumber I was trying to reach had already left for the day, so I could leave a message. This was on a Friday. I left a message, and I received a call back within an hour. However, the return call was not from the plumber who had come out, and I was told that I had asked for the wrong person. I apologized, and the gentleman said that he would get me something by Monday. I have waited another 2 weeks and decided to give up, because if this is their idea of professional, I am concerned what kind of work they would do.
