The installation took longer than anticipated (and hence more expensive) in part because access to the plumbing behind the shower wall was limited. But we were happy with the outcome -- until recently. The shower knob has gotten more difficult to turn and we have broken two of the plastic handles because of this. We called OJ Laughlin to see if they would come out to look at this to see what the problem might be, assuming that they would do this for free since they both provided the fixture and performed the labor. But they said that their warranty only covered a few month period. We would have to pay $140 (minimum) for them to come out. It does not seem right that a shower fixture that we had installed at considerable expense should last less than two years. We'd used OJ Laughlin many times - even though they are on the expensive side - because we thought we were getting the highest quality service, but now we will try another company since they don't seem willing to back up their work.

I was happy with them. They were very professional and knowledgeable. I would give them all A's.

My objection relates to the size of price increases and lack of notification of that, not to the work. Also, I wrote to the company almost two months ago about this and have no reply ? not even a phone call - which indicates to me non-existent concern for customers. In January 2007, their service call had a half-hour minimum and an hourly rate of $100. When I called in November 2009 for a clogged sink drain, a tech came to my house, and took about five strokes with my plunger. Apparently my final previous application of Drano had worked, as that cleared the clog. This took about three minutes, after which he sold me a $49 container of Bio-Clean. When I called for this recent service (identifying myself as a customer of a few years ago), no one told me that fees had increased from a half-hour to an hour minimum (100% increase) and from an hourly rate of $100 to $140 (40% increase). I find such large increases unconscionable in this economy, and for three minutes of work, this translates to an hourly rate of $2,800. (I do understand service call minimums and that no one can charge by the minute.) But if I had been told of the new prices, maybe I would have tried my plunger again myself and canceled the service call. Maybe I would have asked the tech to look at a leaky faucet to use more of the hour I way paying for. Maybe I still would have owed $140 for three minutes work, but at least I would?ve been warned. Again, my objection is based upon price increases and poor (no) response to a written customer complaint.

The cost was exactly what they said and they did what exactly they said they would do. They were very patient and they did a good job because everything seems to be working well. The price was a bit high because it was a particular water heater that I wanted, so I had to pay that much.

I called around 12:30pm on a Monday and they said someone might be able to come by that afternoon, or at the latest the next day and he would know in about an hour. Approximately an hour later he called back and said someone was on his way and would be there in about 20-25 minutes. Right about 20 minutes later the repairman was there and 40 minutes later our leaky sink was fixed! They were very fast and efficient and it was a great experience.

Professional and reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again.

Plummer came and hooked up the ice maker and that has been working great. He 'snaked' the toilet and replaced most of the parts inside the tank. However, within a few hours the toilet was not flushing again. The plummer came back and 'snaked' the toilet again. He mentioned that we might have to replace the entire toilet if the problem continued. Once again, within a few hours the toilet was not flushing. I purchased a new toilet and scheduled the replacement, which went fine. However, when I received the invoice, no credit was given for all the parts that were needlessly installed on the first visit. I felt some consideration should have been given since that was obviously not the problem.

They came out the day after I called. They were supposed to call ahead of coming out. They did not call. I was home by chance when the subbed-out drain cabling company arrived. Required a hold harmless statement signed in case he broke something. He did break the pipe in the kitchen. Took the plumber approx. 2 hours to fix that. At $100 each additional hour that adds up quickly. All work done very professionally, cleanly, politely. Cabling guy very conscientiously waited for plumber to finish to confirm bathroom work. But paying for a fix they caused still rankles.

I do not recall the representative's name, but he arrived on schedule. From the outset he said that the company "had installed one or two" tankless water heaters, but his boss did not really like them. I asked if the heater could be vented under my deck from the basement, away from any windows. He did not know. I asked if the heater could be vented vertically through the current vent. He did not know. I asked if I would need a larger gas service line, as I had read that was sometimes necessary. He did not know. He tried to sell me on a more standard water heater, and asked if I would like an estimate from them for a standard water heater in addition to the one for a tankless, after he did the research on installing the tankless. I said that would be fine. I heard nothing else from the company, no telephone calls and no estimates. Their loss.

The plumber was very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to get the job done. He also left no mess to clean up!

Our experience with them was excellent. The guy was very knowledgeable and he told me what he was doing and why he was doing it. He did not do some thing that I thought needed to be done, so I thought he was very honest. I thought it was a good price for what they did and they did very good work. They replaced a pressure regulator in my line and also replaced a release valve on the hot water heater. They were really responsive and punctual.

They were fine and came out right away. The guy came in; he was on-time, very courteous and got the job done very efficiently. They were pretty good price wise too. He also cleaned up after himself. I have actually used them a couple of times.

The service was scheduled quickly and the service could not have been more professional. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

They were here within 30 minutes of my phone call. The technician was polite, professional and cleaned up. I am very satisfied.

After looking on Angies List, I found them. Overall I have NEVER been SO PLEASED. We first had a problem with the backflow valve and called for an estimate. When they were here, the man was SO knowledgable. I was blow away but how much he knew and how he troubleshooted above and beyond what I expected. I mentioned there was an issue with the toliet running every minute or so and he sent a bid within days via mail. I called and schdueld the work. They arrived on time and kept a clean work area. They replaced the old blackflow and then came inside to update some issue with the irragation connection to the backflow. The man was so honest as he showed me what was worng and how easy it was as he fixed it. Then he moved on to the toliet. He spent HOURS working on it. Replaced EVERYTHING in the tank pulled it off the floor and finally admitted it was simply a bad design. He showed me the why, how it could be better and we got online and picked out a new toliet. He took the info back to the shop and when it arrived in, a new man came and had it installed in now time. Since then we havent had one problem. After 5 plus plumbers in ten years looking at the toliet, thank you angies list and thank you OJ LAUGHLIN PLUMBING!!

I have used Laughlin Plumbing for 10 years. They are professional and on time. They do good work. Their prices are very fair. They are reliable to the point that they would come back if I needed them to. It has just been an overall great experience working with them.

They were very good. They changed some shut off valves and took a valve out of a high point. I did not have any complaints while dealing with them.

The company came-out with 2 business days of my phone call. Dave was prompt and listened patiently as I described my various plumbing issues, the main one being the shower plumbing inspection, which thankfully turned out to be OK. Dave was friendly and kept working while we conversed. Dave fixed all of the issues I asked him about (including one that I only mentioned after he arrived), and explained to me the repairs he was making. He spent about 2-1/2 hours at my home for the service call.

They do great work. They were professional and reliable.

It took a couple of weeks for the guys to stary my project. However, they didn't charge me as much as their estimate. I guess the wait was worth it.

I sent an email to Tom O'Laughlin as recommended on the site and he called me within a couple of hours. (I contacted another plumber by email who has yet to return my email.) We scheduled a time for today midmorning and Tom called me at around 8:30 to say that the plumber would be here within half an hour or so. Curt arrived at about 9:30-ish, I showed him the problem. He assessed both bathrooms and said it would probably take an hour or so...he also noticed an unusual fitting, but said he might be able to re-use it. It took about two and a half hours, so until noon, to do BOTH bathrooms. The bill was around $290 plus parts, which I thought was very reasonable, I had been expecting it to cost a great deal more. NO problems, no unexepected charges, completely professional and courteous technician, Angie's list is two for two on hooking me up with EXCELLENT contractors. And now I know the telephone number of a good, trustworthy plumber.

Great - Dave Kaufmann reviewed purchaser's request for a plumbing fix and provided an alternative solution as purchaser's solution would not meet code. Not only did he provide a solution at a very reasonable price but also convinced the purchaser to accept the solution - certainly above and beyond!

Mike the technician showed up around 11am and quickly went to work repairing my kitchen sink plumbing, and then my bathroom sink, and then worked on repairing the outside water faucet. He appeared to be nice and very knowledge. He even recommended me getting a shutoff valve for the water line going to my outside faucet. I said sure go ahead and do that. The entire job was completed in 2 hours. The big problem I had was with the original quote. I was told $140.00 for the 1st hour and $100 for each additional hour. I was never told that price only included labor. I thought that included labor & parts, since other companies I've used in the past work that way. So, I was quite surprised when I received the invoice that totaled $367.95 when I expected the invoice to be $240.00. Mike the service tech did not mention that the parts were extra when he gave me the bill at the end of the call. He said the total was $240.00 and that I was what I was expecting the invoice to be in a few days. I feel like I wasn't disclosed the entire estimate when I called originally and that makes me feel like I was taken advantage of, and it will make me think long and hard about doing business with this company again and referring others to them.
