We just closed on a new house and discovered a leak in the pressure regulator. We had a few other small plumbing jobs that we wanted to done so we added this to the list and called OJ Laughlin. They were able to come out in a few days, which wasn't a problem since there was just a drip. As usual, they were very professional and courteous. They called when Brian was on the way to the house. When they went to replace the regulator, we discovered that the main shutoff valve didn't work so they replaced that also. We also discovered that the piping for the sprinkler system was under significant strain so they fixed that and added an additional pipe support. They got called away on another emergency job and rescheduled to come back the following week to finish the other jobs, which actually worked fine for our schedule. Brian finished up the remaining jobs when he came back. He was also able to offer some helpful suggestions on items which may need replacement soon (disposal and hot water dispenser) and had some good recommendations on brands, sizes, and where to get a good price. He also made a helpful suggestion for a replacement shower head that wouldn't required significant piping changes. He offered some good maintenance tips that we could do to keep the plumbing in the new house in good working order.

They were great! the service guy, Mike Luebbert, really knew what he was doing. I knew if i called O.J. Laughlin it would get done right, and it was. They took away the old water heater, and installed the new one in about 2 hours. I called the company monday morning, and they picked up a new heater tues am and came out around 12 noon on tues with the new one. so we are very pleased.

This is an absolutely first rate company. They were punctual, very responsive to my inquiries, careful in their work, and very efficient. I negotiated one round of pricing with them and the final price we agreed on was very competitive. I would not hesitate to use them again or provide a reference for them. Most of my interaction was with John. I don't remember the name of their plumber who actually did the installation but his work was excellent in all respects

We developed a leak in our kitchen ceiling in July 2010. After contacting 3 different roofers, we were advised the problem was a leaky PVC stack and we needed to contact a plumber. OJ Laughlin came out and replaced a portion of the PVC pipe in the attic above the leak. The area where the leak occurred is only wet during a heavy downpour. As a result, the plumbing company relied on the analysis done by the third roofer to perform the repair. The work was done within an hour and the gentleman from OJ Laughlin was professional. Unfortunately, the ceiling continued to leak and we've since had the third roofer back out.

I called at 8:30 am and their phone was answered by someone who was very, very polite, and professional. They said someone could be out by this afternoon. Approx. an hour later they called and said the technician was on his way! The technician was very professional, he even put on "booties" over his workboots so as not to track in any debris into our house. 1 hour later he was finished with his work and the the drains had been cleared of the debris. I was also able to use a $10 coupon from Angie's List. These guys are great and I would highly recommend them.

We knew the repairs would be a big deal and not very pleasant. So we made sure we got bids from 3 different companies. O.J. Laughlin's numbers seemed reasonable and we had used them before for small plumbing jobs. This project required a jack hammer to drill thru the concrete floor and then dig out a ton of dirt to access the pipes. They pulled back carpet and protected the floor and entry ways with plastic. We had a 3 foot pile of dirt in our dinning room for a few days. But we couldn't have been more pleased with the plumber and his diligence. Always punctual and so pleasant to be around. He worked pretty quickly and repaired several pipes that were in bad shape. Total job took about 4 days to complete.

He responded to my questions and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Proceeded with work and discovered and fixed a problem caused by a previous plumber.

I explained the problem to their office personnel. We made an appointment and they arrived as promised. The repairman was very agreeable to let me watch the repairs because I wanted to understand what the problem was. I was so glad I had called a professional to do the job, because it was more complicated than I thought. Nevertheless. the repairs were made within the one-hour minimum charge, so I paid for that plus parts. The plumber was professional and courteous throughout.

They were on time, courteous, knowledgeable. A very satisfactory experience.

The service man arrived on time and in less that an hour and a half, he had diagnosed the problems and fixed them. I felt the charge for parts and labor were both reasonable.

OJ Laughlin came out the first time to diagnose a problem with our water system, which sounded like thermal expansion. I could not replicate the problem for the plumber, but ultimately decided to replace the water heater which was 10 years old and not heating properly anyway. They came back out with a Bradford-White 40-gal water heater and thermal expansion tank and installed it in about 2.5 hours. They removed and took away the old heater. The whole process was fairly quick and easy. The new water heater works great, and we haven't had thermal expansion issues since. The price for installation was a little more than other companies, but OJ Laughlin did not charge us the $140 for the first service appointment.

I found a big leak in the basement of this building when showing a unit to a prospective tenant. I called OJ Laughlin (found them through Angie's List and had used them before) and they had a family member / employee come out the next day to assess the situation. He knew the job was going to involve ripping out the bathrooms to get to the pipes and advised me it would be a big, expensive job. They gave me a worst-case price of $4200-$4500 and came within $22 of the top-end number. This price did include, however, fixing a sink leak in a unit across the street. The positives: 1) a family member/employee came out to assess the situation the morning after I called, 2) they were professional, 3) they did quality work, 4) the actual tech (Chris?) was very experienced and did a good job explaining what was going on during the times I visited the worksite. The negatives: 1) I had to wait from Wednesday until the following Monday to get the job started. My tenant was out of town through that Saturday and I had really hoped to get the job started while she was out of town, as I paid her $75/night to rent a hotel room while her bathroom was torn up. I could have saved $225 of the $300 I paid her had they been able to start earlier, 2) The technician told me that if he could get an apprentice plumber to help him, I would probably be able to save money on the job, as the apprentice earns less than he and could also make the job go quicker. Sadly, the company said they were too busy and could not have an apprentice help with the job. I feel like I probably overpaid because they were busy and my $95/hr plumber had to do 100% of the work. Overall, I'm happy with the job even though I feel I paid a little bit too much.

The work was carried out efficiently and successfully.

He called the manufacturer and got them to send us, overnight, a new a new valve and showed me how to install it and said it would be ridiculous to charge us anything for the diagnosis and that we could also save money by not having him come back because the installation would be easy enough for me to handle. We'll have him back to install a water filtration system soon along with some other work.

Excellent job. Also fixed tank support bolts that were improperly installed and no additional cost.

The kitchen sink was recently installed on our kitchen remodel. The plumbing underneath was done incorrectly and the u-joint was not connected correctly. He took it all apart and had it replaced in ~30 minutes. The outside faucets were old and I was afraid that the knob would twist off. He replaced them and had to saw into our siding. he did a very nice job of not making a huge hole in the siding and the faucet covers it nicely. In addition he fixed two of our toliets. one I thought I was going to have to replace, but he got it to flush again. The other toliet was spraying water when you flushed. he replaced a part in that one also. Overall, very professional, very clean and very hard working.

We used them first because they had a coupon but we really liked them and called them again. We really like them and they are always prompt. The man that came out this last time came to give us a bid and he fixed a little problem for us while he was out. When you call, they are exceedingly nice over the telephone.

They were very professional and courteous to my mother who is elderly.

Hot water smelled terrible and it took 3 service calls to address the situation. However, I was not charged for the final service call when the problem was finally fixed. The problem could have been addressed sooner, but was fixed in the end.

They were willing to come out right away and I had to leave so they were able to come out the next day. They came out and the quote was the price I paid. They also noticed the bathtub was not draining well, so they fixed that for us. They were accommodating with my schedule and they were so nice and friendly and I could not have asked for a better service and the best price.
