Happy Tree Service

I had a large tree fall. What was left was a huge uprooted stump. They made a special effort to accommodate my schedule at a time when many people were needing tree service after a storm. Friendly, professional, good price. Couldn't ask for more. I'll use again.

They were great. Explained that I was on a time schedule and they worked it out for me and got it done in time. The crew explained everything before they got started, i.e. there was some concrete mixed in with the roots that had to be removed. They were quite fast, at least it seemed so to me. They left everything as it should have been. No mess left behind. All in all a great experience!!! I'd hire them again in a flat second. And their price was great.

Super nice guys. They knew the situation was urgent but the tree was not on my house so they got to me as quickly as they could while taking care of the people who did have trees on their houses. I really appreciated the consideration. And the price was great.

They were pretty good. They did a good job. They gave us a good price. They were the best ones on price. I have no complaints with quality. They were here when they said they were going to be. They were on time. They got everything done. Professionalism was good. I would definitely use them again. I'm satisfied with what they did. I would call them again.

The crew of three, lead by Jeremy, arrived at 10:00am and went right to work. The team skillfully tackled one task after another. The fellow who did the rope placements and climbing was amazing. They safely dropped some really big limbs from very high places. They cleaned up thoroughly after each task and completed the job by 3:45.

The Arborist arrived at our home about 30 minuets after I put in a call to the office. He said he would get an emergency crew in today. We talked about how we could preventatively trim the enormous Hackberry, towering over our two story home, in order to avoid another incident. The Crew arrived around 3:15 and were done by 5:00. The guys were friendly, skillful, and seemed to never stop moving. They demonstrated superior teamwork. They got a lot done. When they were done, except for the newest scar on the tree, you wouldn't know they had been here. Great Job!

The company came out as scheduled and did an excellent job trimming and thinning out a tall tulip tree in my backyard that had been losing branches frequently. The tree was in a spot where they had to have someone climb the tree and do the cutting from there. They were done in a few hours and my yard was completely cleaned up. I will use them again for any future trimming that needs to be done.

I was referred to them by a neighbor. Called and left a message and they returned the call promptly. I asked if they could match the competitor price and they did. They came to do the work earlier than expected. They were very polite, professional and I was extremely happy with the work that was done.

Needed to have a large Locust tree cut down. Happy Tree gave the lowest bid, so decided to use them. Because of rain, they did not show up as scheduled (I do not blame them!) The only concern I had was that I had to call them to reschedule! On the day they came to cut down the tree, the company could not give me an estimate on when they would be there. They said "If they are not there between 9-9:30, then they wouldn't be there till around noon." Nice estimate, eh? They arrived at 9:45am! The guys got the tree down in a short amount of time, NIce! The one thing that would have been even nicer is, if they would have cleaned up the yard a little better. Took me a few hours to clean up the yard after they left! Also had them do the stump grinding. They originally said they would be there a couple of days after the tree was cut down. Well, they came almost two weeks later!

I have 2 large elm trees in my yard. One had many broken branches from recent storms. The other was dropping branches randomly and both were in obvious need of a trim. I called Happy Tree Service and was very impressed to learn that the company's owner (Ray) is a certified arborist. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He answered all of my questions and gave me straight forward advice on cuts that wouldn't be detrimental to the health of the tree. I was mentally preparing myself for an expensive estimate, but I was very pleasantly surprised when he gave me the numbers. He mentioned that he knows tree trimming can be an unexpected expense and wanted to ease the pain for his customers. I was extremely impressed when he said that they can do payment plans for up to one year and they don't take any payments until the work is complete. The day of the trimming Ray arrived with his crew (because I had some tweaks to make to the estimate). Before he left he made sure that we were all on the same page about the work to be done. The crew worked efficiently and looked good too (they all had matching orange Happy Tree Service shirts). Originally we decided to have the crew leave the branches and debris in the yard for us to cut up and use as firewood. Once I saw the branches piling up... I changed my mind! I asked the crew if it was too late for them to take the debris and they very graciously started picking up the pile. They saw us cutting up the larger branches for firewood and even helped carry select larger pieces over to our pile. I didn't ask them to do that :) When they were finished, they raked up all the small sticks, leaves and branches that had fallen. They had a leaf blower and cleaned all of the sawdust that fell on the deck. They actually left the place cleaner than they found it. I was very impressed! Yesterday, I received the invoice in the mail and sent in my check. My trees look great! I will definitely be calling Happy Tree Service for any future tree needs!

Excellent! The 3 man crew made the task look easy and simple, which it was not. They safely took the tree down without incident and cleaned up everything, including blowing off the deck and patio. Two thumbs up!

On the first day, a crew of three arrived three hours late (I had to call to find out why they were not here on time), they did all the work but had to rush at the end because it started to rain. They had been here for four and a half hours including a one hour lunch. On the next day, I noticed that there were a lot of dead branches in the locust tree that had not been removed and I called the office to complain. The owner, Raymond, called me back and promised to send a crew first thing Monday morning. A different crew of three people arrived on time on Monday and spent one and a half hour cleaning the locust three. Overall, I an very happy with the final result. Both crews cleaned the grounds to my satisfaction.

They were really, they were professional, on time, clean, above and beyond wonderful.

He is excellent. I have had him here 3 or 4 times. He is very good about coming when I need him. If he is going to be in the area, he will give me a call and say that he is going to be in the area on such and such day and ask me if I need him or not as he is very close to my area. I had estimates from the people in my area but my guy from St. Louis was cheaper. He is the only one I use. I would rate him highly and would use him in the future.

We called for an estimate. It was fair. They came when they said they were going to. The tree came down without any damage anywhere. The yard was cleaned up. A while later the stump was removed and it was done well. The job was handled with professionalism and everything was done to our satisifaction. We have called them to come out and give us anojter estimate on a large tree in our front yard.

It went very well. The tree was extremely close to the house and a shed in the yard and they came on time and took the tree down without any trouble and no damage whatsoever. I was very happy with them and would use them again.

We had Happy Tree out to trim several trees back from the house and remove some vines. The person who gave us the estimate was great, but the actual service was not. The men who showed up to do the work didn't check to see if the work was satisfactory before they left. As a result, some trees weren't trimmed back as far as we'd originally discussed. Maybe they were in a hurry to leave because the Happy Tree workers also tore my drain pipe right off the house. It was hanging there, bent and obviously damaged. I was shocked. I'd seen such great reports on Angie's List about Happy Tree. We called Happy Tree to report the damage to our house (why the workers thought I wouldn't notice, I'll never know - that irritated me). I don't mind people making mistakes. It's how you correct them that matters. Happy Tree sent out their own person to do the repair work to the gutter. They did send him out within days, which I appreciated. But the work is shoddy. Our drain pipe is now attached to the house, but it is all bent and crinkled up. The neighbors can't believe someone left it like that. I can't either. I've gotten some estimates to have it fixed (from Angie's List) and those vendors have even commented on the shoddy repair job. All in all, it looks like it will cost me $250 to fix the damage Happy Tree did to my house. A call about this went unanswered and Happy Tree did not follow up with a call about the repair job, so I assume they know this issue and have chosen to do nothing.

We have used him before and we went with him primarily because of the price and that started us on him. They did it all well and there wasn't anything special.

They are reasonably price. They did a good job and they cleaned up after themselves.

I received an estimate that I considered fair and appropriate for the removal of a very large 40 year old oak tree and grinding its stump in my back yard. They began the work on the scheduled date April 14. When the truck and the chipper first arrived, the two workers tried to park it in my short driveway and had considerable difficulty correcting this because the equipment got wedged between my mailbox, a brick flowerbox, a street sign, and a parked car of one of my neighbors. Once they were able to get it back out into the street, they set up the equipment there and then stomped the front lawn to repack it where it had been driven over. It took two days to cut the tree down. The chipper truck was filled on both days and many logs and limbs still remained in my back yard waiting to be picked up by a larger truck with a claw. Due to the rain, this truck was not able to come immediately and the logs and limbs stayed in my back yard for a week. When they did come to pick up the logs, they parked this truck in the street immediately. It took two days to remove all of the wood. On the first day, the men moved the logs by hand with a dolly from my back yard to the front, very heavy and difficult labor as the logs were quite large. These men were extremely courteous and cheerful considering the difficulty of the task. Then, one man directed the claw to pick up the logs and set them in the truck while the other man monitored the logs to be picked up, arranging them in ways that made it easier to get them. On the second day, the men collected the logs with a motorized cart and carried them from the back yard to the front in the rain. The machine left marks on my concrete which I applied cleanser to clean off. With continued rain, it took until May 18th to have the stump grounded out (two markings by MO Dig-Rite). Overall, I was pleased with the results of the tree removal. I would have liked to have been given more details as to when the work was going to be done after the initial scheduled date so that I could have vehicles out of the way before they arrived.

We had three bids for the work and liked the way Happy Tree Service was going to shape our large sweetgum tree. It seemed we got the biggest bang for our buck. It took awhile to get them out because of the weather, but as soon as they were able, they came out and did all the work. After they were finished, we were very pleased with the overall job and the clean-up. We will definitely use them again.

Gentleman that gave quote was excellent - knowledgable, honest. Weather changes made date unpredictable. Overall, good work, fair price. - I would hire them again.

called for bid - estimator came by next day and left written quote and insurance cert in mailbox. i signed and faxed in quote. job was scheduled for approx. 2 weeks later. crew arrived just a few minutes early. went to work right away removing the tree, then went to work on pruning the other. made quick and efficient work of it, and were all cleaned up and onto the next job in less than 3 hours. the crew was friendly and professional, and took the time to answer any questions and listen to any concerns about the work. a separate crew came by about a week later to take care of the stump.

I contacted Ray after seeing his add in a local paper and reviewing his reviews on Angies list. I obtained 3 other bids as well. The other bids for the work were $2200 to $3500. Ray offered 3 guys to work at an hourly rate for as many hours as I needed them with me directing what of the mess I wanted removed. The three young men showed up promptly, worked very hard, were very courteous and by the end of the day I could actually see my home and had discovered that I really did have a back yard. The only down side; the massive over growth was hiding the fact that our retaining wall was completely rotted. Well, back to Angies List .
