They were quick, performed like a Beginner Apprintice, OVER CHARGED for lousy work and argued with me about the back wall of the shower unit. Their excuse was "You told us NOT to sheetrock the walls the shower stall was going in to!" I told them the the instructions said "NOT TO!!!!!" They both shrugged me off and walked away. David. Anyone who wants to see the folder I have, they are welcome to ask.
Description of Work: I made a folder with pictures listing the items which he and his partner, Steve Shelton, messed up. They both said that they had installed hundreds of shower units, so they did NOT read the instructions which said to stud-in for an opening of 60" x 30" and a brace-board at a certain height to cement the back wall to. When installing the Blue sheet rock they cut the hole for the double gang light switch and duplex outlet almost 3/4" too wide. It took me 3 weeks to find a cover big enough to cover the hole. A true professional would know that when you screw a screw into sheetrock too deep you are SUPPOSED to put a screw above and below the bad screw to ensure the sheetrock is properly installed. When I installed the 1" x 4" mounting board for my shower rod I found 2 screws popped out of the sheetrock. This told me that both screws were screwed in too far. Steve did the mud work and taping and wanted to put a THICK layer of mud where the corners and seams were, come back the next day , put up more mud and THEN tape. His mud was so thick he could barely get it out of the box it was in. I spent 3 days sanding out the rough spots and tried to sand out the pits but was unable and STILL have some of them. If I had sanded out all the pits I would have sanded into the tape. These two also renovated the basement of a neighbor and did some electrical work as part of it. The first item I found was a NAKED light in the toy closet of a 4 year-old boy. It was a "pull-chain" type of fixture. They also wired in a "new" dryer outlet. The wires are "INSIDE" the wall so they installed a surface mounted (not a FLUSH mounted) outlet with a hole in the cover large enough to allow the boy to stick his finger into it (INSTANT DEATH!!!!!!!). I wired the basement bathroom lights and exhaust fan. When these two got finished they had disconnected the exhaust fan (???????). The baseboard was poorly installed with waves and not touching the floor in some places. In each of the 4 rooms they installed the wall sheet rock, mudded, taped, sanded, and painted. THEN they installed the ceiling. Makes you wonder. David.
