Better Built Construction

The house looked great. Took a long time with a lot of excuses. Found out later that the owner had too many jobs going and was just stringing everyone along. The owner is Jeff Lockhart and if for some silly reason you decide to use him make 100% sure you are satisfied, because once he gets final payment you will never see him again and he won't return your calls. Toward the end of the job the work started to get really sloppy. The shop was not stripped properly before the new stain was applied and now it looks horrible. There are huge areas that look streaked because the old finish wasn't removed completely. We were ignorant to the whole strip and stain process and expected him to do it properly. Especially for the money we paid! My mistake was to pay him the last payment. Once it was done he would not return calls or requests to come look at the poor workmanship. I left one last message for him that we needed to really meet to rectify the situation. He sent two of his guys out, that have since quit working for him because of his poor practices, and they tried making the front of the shop look better. They said it would need to be stripped and re-stained. Jeff was also supposed to repair a warped board on the back deck. Well his guy replaced the board with another warped board. I get charged another $250 for this repair that didn't fix anything. Also, I had a fiberglass ladder hanging up behind the shed and someone from his crew decided to use it. They broke the end on one side of it and got stain all over it. Of course no one would admit to it. I only wish someone would have told me about him before all this instead of after, which it what happened. He comes across as really nice, but got to overhear him talking and cussing his workers. Just beware of his smooth talking.
