I contacted several contractors for a bid on this project beginning in 7/08 but could not get anyone to commit to the job within a reasonable amount of time except Nick Linebaugh Construction. I contacted my insurance company 08/25/08 and was cleared for work to begin. Nick was to begin work within the next 2 weeks. Their were a few delays with rain but work was never started. I contacted Nick several times to find out a start date and was told each time it would be in the next couple of weeks. It got to where he would not return phone calls, or would schedule a start date and would miss it. Once winter began I finally had to put off the project until spring of 2009. Shame on me for ignoring red flags but I was unable to find anyone to do the job at a reasonable price and within insurance costs. I started to think about the project again in Feb. of 2009 when out of the blue Nick calls and says he has a crew who can start the job 3/5/09. I should not have done it but I had no one else. The job was started and was going along very good until after a few days of talking to the crew I find out they usually do small additions to homes, not a complete re-roofing job. Their work was looking pretty good I thought but when they tore off the old roof a lot of the debris was deposited in the gutters and missing the dumpster that should have been bigger. When the dumpster was delivered they broke several branches on my holly tree and ran over the landscaping around it messing up my brick edging. I contacted Nick about this and he said that he would fix it. NEVER HAPPENED. I came home one day after work was completed on the deck to find a few support posts that were severely damaged and should not have been used. I pointed them out to Nick and he said he would take care of them. "This is ANOTHER PROBLEM that has not been taken care of." Work was "completed" on 3/12/09 and the dumpster was full and over flowing. The gutters were put on not replacing the flashing as indicated in the insurance estimate and the gutter installer was p***** off at the roofing crew for not emptying the gutters out which were filled with roofing debris. I was left with trash to clean up and no place to put it. Nick was in a hurry to get his remaining money from the insurance company and after they reinspected the job they found the following items: 1) Flashing not replaced 2) Roofing metals i.e. vent caps and valley metal which were supposed to be replaced were not. Nick was paid in full due to the fact that he assured me he would take care of any remaining problems and I did not want to risk a lien being placed on my property. After several phone conversations and promises he would come out: 1)replace the support posts and 2) fix gutter flashing. While waiting for him to address the first two issues during a rain storm I noticed a roof leak. I contacted him about this and he came out to look at it but did nothing to the roof. He just painted the ceiling to cover up the water spot. I spoke to him again about the posts at that time and he said they were ordered and he would take care of it soon. I continued to contact him every two weeks until he blocked my number. To this day it has not been resolved. Would not recommend him to my worst enemy.
Description of Work: Re roof entire house, add 1 skylight to main roof, add new gutters and add a roof with 4 skylights over existing 10x40 deck. Insurance claim for roof and gutters.
