I have not heard from Bill Mitchell or Top Notch Appliance since he left my house on March 19th with a check for $708.88 of my money. I've called the number provided by HWA multiple times to check in and have left numerous messages but have not received a response. It has been nearly 6 weeks and it is clear the Top Notch is a fraudulent company. Now I see that they have a D+ rating with the Better Business Bureau
Description of Work: On March 19th Bill Mitchell from Top Notch Appliances, assigned by my Home Warranty company, came to my house to service my dryer and refrigerator, both appliances which are no longer working properly. Note that this is the 2nd time Mitchell was at the house having previously been referred by HWA for the same problem with the dryer which was not solved in November. During this visit and after speaking with HWA, it was agreed that multiple parts of the dryer and refrigerator had to be replaced and that somehow I was responsible for part of these costs. Bill Mitchell made multiple assurances to me: - He would call me immediately after ordering the parts - He would receive the parts within 10 days - He would be back to my house with in two weeks to install the parts - He would call me if there was any problem or delay in ordering

I had a dryer that went out. The guy came out and determined that it was the motherboard. The guy was actually very nice and told me he had a lot of experience. He told me that the motherboard alone would cost a couple hundred dollars. He advised me to just go a plain jane dryer, so we did. While he was still at my house, I pulled out the electronic air filter on my air conditioning, and asked him how I would clean. He told me about a maintenance agreement where they would come in a service all my appliances throughout the year for a flat fee. They were supposed to call me a week later regarding the agreement I signed. After a couple weeks, they sent out another guy to clean the filter. They guy that came to clean the filter didn't have any of the necessary equipment to perform the job. He knew nothing at all about the heating and cooling aspect that was covered under the agreement. He wrote on the receipt that they needed to clean filter next time they came out. He didn't look at any of the other appliances while he was there. After this last visit, I have not heard from the company, and filled a complaint with the BBB. The report came back from the BBB saying that my checks bounced. I still have the copies and verified with my bank that they both cleared. Clearly, this is a rip off company. I would not recommend this service to anyone. They are a bait and switch type of organization.

It is true that the customer wrote us a check for our maintenance agreement and we have not performed the maintenance agreement what the customer is not telling you is his check did not clear our bank and even though we have left messages to try and get the situation corrected we have never gotten payment for the maintenance program therefore the bounced check voids that program with the customer. We owe the customer no funds due to the bounce check

Description of Work: This is a company to avoid. The individual, Bill Mitchell, owes us $6,000. He has told me twice he has mailed a check but it never comes. He was associated with Lesco (went under), Mitchell Appliances and then Bill Mitchell's Appliance Repair. These are rated F on Better Business Bureau with 50 complaints in the last 3 years. KMOV did a story on him last year for messing up a $700 dryer repair job and not coming back to correct it.

[member name removed] is not an individual that my company performed any services for or was in any contract with. My company sent a technician to his mothers residence and per her request hired us to put in a new air conditioning unit. She agreed to and signed the contract stating that deposits were non refundable unless the parts were not available. After I purchased the parts for her install [member name removed] the adult son of the person we were doing business for called and canceled the work. All parts were already ordered and paid for. Per our contract with his mother our customer she knew signing the agreement that the $6000.00 deposit was non refundable. I have all documentation of our contract with her and her signatures.
