Ron had a repairman available the same afternoon who came out and made the repairs. The boots appear very much improved from what the builder had used 6 years ago. Very impressed with the quick and professional response.
Description of Work: I had a roof leak that appeared to be near a vent pipe. I called Ron to inpect the roof and make an estimate, He determined the leak was indeed from the rubber boot being cracked. He also found two other vent pipes had boots that were deteriorated and a couple of nail pops that needed to be sealed. He provided an estimate of $250 to replace the flashing and install a redundant collar on the 3 pipes and fix the nail pops.

Great communication. Great work. In about 5 years, I will need a whole new roof. When that day comes, I doubt I will even get a comparable bid against Bone Drys'. I don't want anybody else working on my roof.
Description of Work: Repair of flat roof. Completely new around the 3 parapet walls. 2 feet new over and under on gutter edge. Filled in 3 large holes from old utilities, and replaced the decking under holes.

I recently had the collars replaced on the PVC stacks on my roof as they were deteriorating and I had some water spots appearing on my ceiling below one of the stacks. After an overnight heavy rain, my kitchen ceiling was dripping and more rain was forecasted later in the day. I called Ron and explained my situation. Ron understood my concerns and came out 90 minutes later. He went into the attic and walked the roof despite the fact it was still raining. He determined the roof was perfectly fine and the recent collar install was done correctly. He stated the problem was with the PVC pipe and the seal around the connection where it makes a bend. He recommended I contact a plumber to fix the problem. Ron was professional, courteous and he didn't charge me to diagnose the problem. His exceptional customer service is something we all want but rarely find!! Since I live in a subdivision where homes are 7-12 years old, I'm certain some of my neighbors will be experiencing the same problem. I will ABSOLUTLEY recommend Bone Dry Roofing to my friends and neighbors! Thank you Ron for diagnosing the problem so quickly!
Description of Work: I recently had collars replaced on the PVC stacks on our roof. Since that time, the ceiling in the kitchen has leaked and the leak has become progressively worse. I didn't know if I needed a roofer again or a plumber to fix the problem.

I initally called Bone Dry Roofing and two other companies to get estimates. After getting all three estimates I actually decided to go with another company, which specialized in gutters. At the time, Bone Dry had no reports about gutter repairs, and the other company specialized in gutters, so it seemed reasonable to go with them. Unfortunately, a week after signing, the other company backed out. So, I rather sheepishly called Ron and asked if Bone Dry was still available. They were able to schedule me quickly, did the work when I was out of town, and picked up the yard VERY well. I am very satisfied with my new gutters. I know they are pitched correctly, since after it rains I can go to my 3rd floor and look into the gutters, which no longer have standing water to attract birds and mosquitos. The adapters that were attached to ensure that the larger downspouts drain into the smaller sewer tie-ins are high quality and don't leak. Also, they were nice enough to do a very simple repair to a small section of the house to prevent squirrels from entering my attic. After the service was complete I asked Ron about general roof maintenance, which he explained very nicely. He didn't try to sell me on any immediate repairs (which he could have, since I can't get onto my roof), and reassured me that the roof was in decent shape. I feel that Ron Russelberg is a very honest person running a good company. If and when I need roof or gutter repairs in the future, his will be the first company I contact.
Description of Work: Bone Dry Roofing upgraded the gutters and downspouts for the entire house, and, while they were at it, fixed a small area that was allowing squirrels to enter my attic space.

Ron was very professional and personable. He got out to give us an estimate within two days and was able to deliver the estimate on the spot. The work was complete within a week of calling them. The price was good and the work seems of high quality. My only issuew were I had to call to find out if they had received the signed estimate and they accidentally charged us twice and I didn't get an immediate phone call (I saw it online).
Description of Work: Fixed a length of gutter along the back side of house, recapped sanitary pipes with neoprene (squirrels had eaten the lead ones), fixed nail bleeds and fixed flashing around A/C stackpipe.

The previous owner did a very poor job of putting on the lead flashing that I has requested. My inspector said the job would not last two years and it didn't. I had leaking onto the ceiling of my kitchen. I got three estimates on the cost of the repair and Bone Dry was the lowest bidder. They came in, did the job, cleaned up and left. The stacks are looking good.

I had two properties that had trouble and the owner came to my house and spent a lot of time with me going over all details that he could see and all concerns and questions that I had. He sent my requested three bids (my house and two bids for the second property). I took the bid for my place, which I could afford at the time. His worker arrived on schedule and was neat as a pin! Because my back entry was blocked, the worker spread out a tarp to catch all roofing waste and carried it down my front stairs to his truck. I didn't need to sweep or anything. He worked hard and he owner dropped by to see if all was going well. I was VERY pleased with responsiveness and time spent. My place is now... bone dry! and I will hire again.
Description of Work: An active leak in our house needed immediate attention and through Angie's List, I contacted several roofers. The leak was in an area where our row house butted up against neighbors property and was a difficult area, not just because it had plenty of tar patches from previous problems (prior to my moving in) but also because of an architectural addition which left a space less than 2 feet wide and 7 feet long. For this reason, a number of the bigger roofers wouldn't take on the job. Bone Dry Roofing came in with a good bid (not lowest, not highest) and was prompt and responsive with scheduling a date.

On very short notice, Ron Russelburg responded to our call to get an estimate for areas on our roof which needed repair. I met with Ron and he pointed out where the roof was leaking - at the valleys where the furnace chimney met. He also pointed out where the squirrels had chewed through the lead flashing on the pluming stack pipes. It took a full day of repair work on 14 July to complete all of the areas Ron had detailed in the estimate. The 14th of July was an especially hot day and I kept checking on the roofer to make sure he was okay. In spite of the heat the man work throughout the day completing the job around 6 in the evening. It has been 9 day since the repair and several heavy storms have passed through our area. So far no leaks!

We were very pleased. Ron Russelburg was the guy we dealt with and he was very personable and wanted to make sure we had all our questions answered and were happy with the results. We weren't rushed at all. He gave us decent sized samples and addresses of the houses that had the shingle colors we were considering, which we looked at. Make sure you do this before choosing a color; just like paint, shingle colors look a lot different on an actual roof than on a sample board. The guys were pleasant, and didn't yell, curse, drink beer or smoke. They showed up the day they said they would. During the installation, the place was a disaster with construction stuff everywhere as we expected, but after they were done, our home and grounds were as good as they found it and the gutters were cleared of all debris. My husband got on the roof after they left and thought they did a great installation job. I was home during the installation and went outside frequently to check on how things were going. I saw the rotten plywood sheets myself while they were still on the roof. After everything was finished, we looked the roof over and noticed that there was a section of roof that had a significant dip in it, due to the builder's poor original quality plywood material and poor attic ventilation had caused the plywood to warp. It was not replaced because it was still sound and was good to put shingles over. This place is almost impossible to see unless you stand on your tip toes on the edge of our deck. If it had been in a prominent place, we would have been quite unhappy. We declined Ron's offer to replace the plywood because it would involve tearing off the new felt and shingles in that spot and starting over. I would encourage everyone considering a new roof that has a lot of damage to consider replacing significantly warped plywood as well as the rotten sheets. We've had 2 neighbors comment on how good our new roof looks. Prior to Bone Dry, we had very poor ventilation, now the garage is still very hot (it's 97 degrees outside) but not excruciating like it was before, and you can see the heat pouring out of the ridge vents from the attic. I'm positive that this alone will help our a/c electric bills. Prior to choosing Bone Dry we got bids from 2 other Angie's List roofers. We chose Bone Dry because they had the overall best deal and we were very impressed with Ron. We wish we'd done this several years ago, and have absolutely no regrets using the Bone Dry company. PS. Don't forget the Angie's List coupon.
Description of Work: Bone dry roofers tore off 2 layers of old shingles, and replaced pipe flashing and 9 rotten plywood sheets; then they installed the following: felt, valley ice and water shields, ridge vents on all ridges, gutter apron and drip edges, and Certainteed dimentional (architectural) shingles.

Bone Dry was a wonderful experience. Ron spent at least 2 hours on an estimate, he got to the root cause of our leaking problems (unlike another estimate I got, I don't think that company even got on our roof to estimate!). Ron broke down his recommended repairs in detail, gave me cost/benefit analyses that reflected the current age of our roof and its expected replacement date, and he provided several options for cost savings. I'll definitely consult Ron again for any future repairs/replacement.
Description of Work: We had two powered attic/roof vents with broken, leaky covers and broken fans. Ron replaced them both with new box vents. We also had a flat roof porch odd-sized overhang with a simple rubber cover that had shrunk badly due to age/weather. The exposed seams were letting water leak into the house, Ron replaced it all with new adhesive flat roofing. Minor shingle/nail issues were fixed at no cost, and Bone Dry also re-hung an 2nd level shutter at no cost.

It went very well. We were very happy with the service. Ron was professional, educational and friendly. He didn't mind me being up on the roof with him when he came to give a bid and explained what he saw and discussed the options. He listened to my concerns. His bid was within $5 of the other one we had gotten. They were able to schedule within a week or two working around my out of town schedule. He called me at work to inform me of how much extra wood would be needed to replace the damaged decking and informed me of the cost before preceeding. This is just how he explained it would go and is what I expected. Because I had been up on the roof myself, I knew there were soft spots that would need replacing. The job was done in one day, except for the crown coat on the chimney and the waterproofing which was done a week or so later, waiting for a 24 hr dry period. Ron informed us of the color of roofing that qualifies for a energy tax credit, which was helpful and that is the color we chose. So far no leaks and we've had a downpour to prove it.

I think the process went very well from start to finish. Ron is great to work with. He's very punctual, straightforward and seemed to want my business without being pushy about it. He returned my phone calls promptly and came out for the estimate a few days after being called. He did the measurements and gave me a detailed estimate after spending a few minutes going over the numbers. We had to rearrange the actual day for the roofing because of the weather, but he was easy to communicate with and things generally went as planned. The roof and gutters look great. I would recommend this company to others.
Description of Work: Bone Dry Roofing replaced my roof and put up new gutters and gutter guards. They tore off the old roof, and put on new shingles and also replaced the small portion of my roof that is flat. I have a single story house that is about 1,000 square feet.

Very courteous and prompt. Did a great job of identifying and explaining the problem. Described in detail how he would fix it and what was wrong with the current roof. Also answered questions and gave us some advice for future maintenance. Said would be able to get to job in about a week, and I think it was actually less than that. Didn't expect to hear from him for a few more days, when he called to let us know that he would have been out already but it was raining and he would be out early Monday when it was supposed to be sunny. Here right on time Monday morning with one assistant. Job completed in a very timely fashion (that afternoon) and everything was cleaned up well. Ron was able to almost exactly match the color of my 11 year old shingles when he put the replacements over the fix. Cannot even tell work was done there. Don't know if it is permantly fixed (that being the nature of a leaky roof), but it has been a month filled with rain and storms and it is not leaking now. Called to check back with us and also sent a thank you card reminding me if there are any problems to let him know. Very professional. At this point, would hire back again for any roofing problems.

I found Bone Dry through Angies list when I read about a man who had the same problem as I had. The ceiling around my fireplace was "popcorned" but no water was present. We had had the roof replaced several years ago so we thought the roof was OK. Ron Russellburg came out and climbed into the attic to see that there was a leak around the chinmey and the water was going into the attic. Ron explained everything in great detail, telling us exactly what he would do and why it needed done. He always kept in touch even coming out on a rainy day to say he could not do the work that day because of the weather. We always knew exactly what was going on. He finished the job in two days to our complete satisfaction. He even recommended someone to repair the ceiling inside our home around the fireplace and that job too was done to our complete satisfaction. I hope I won't ever need a roofing company again but if I do I will definitely call Bone Dry!

Response from Bone Dry Roofing Inc - St Louis
I emailed this member the following day (Wednesday) letting him now it would be 2-weeks before Bone Dry Roofing could do the work. And since it was of a immediate need, i needed to know if still wanted a quote. Since I did not get a response it was assumed he did not still need one. I have since called a left a voice mail to see where he stood with his particular project, and as of today i still haven't heard from him. Please keep in mind that it is not unusual for spam filters to not allow quotes to come through unless the email address has been authorized. I am still interested in helping him with his project if he would like to call me. 314-922-8257 Thanks Ron Russelburg, General Manager

We called about 5 contractors out to look at the roof on the house and roof on the garage. We had just bought the house and although the roof on the house looked OK it was also not brand new, so we wanted to know if there were any problems. The other 4 contractors all quoted completly replacing everything. Bone Dry was the only company that actually looked at the roofs and told us where the problems were. In the end we had the garage completly redone as it was leaking badly and most of the decking was rotten, but on the house we only needed to replace 2 roof vents that were cracked and fix the plumbing boot. Non of the other contractors even noticed the cracked vents. I would highly recommend Bone Dry as they work with you to fix the problem and make sure there are no additional problems, but also do not try to do unnecessary work.
Description of Work: Tear-off 3 layers and re-roof detached 2-car garage, which required new decking, and fixes to structure. Replace 2 roof vents, replace plumbing vent boot. Add small section of guttering and connect to existing down spout.

I was so pleased with the work done by this company - definitely recommend. Ron came out to take a look the day I called. He got on the roof & examined chimney area, then spent time with me clearly explaining what would be done, & provided written estimate at that time. I understood & felt confident with his explanation & professionalism & thought the price was good. I chose this company over another company's bid. Work was scheduled about a week out. Workers showed up on day work was scheduled, worked thru the day, kept the yard area clean & hauled away all debris. Once the flashing & shingles were removed, they called me outside to show me the area causing the problem. Another plus - work was done in February, in the cold instead of having to wait till spring.
Description of Work: Had noticed ceiling around brick chimney was buckling & cracking though not noticably leaking inside. Re-flashed chimney, sealed & repaired adjoining roof area. Work included removal of counter flashing, step flashing, & shingles. Then installed ice & water membrane around entire perimeter of base of chimney, new roof shingles & step & counter flashing. Excellent job!

This job went very well. Ron responded very quickly to my request for an estimate, meeting with me within a day or two after I called. As soon as I had decided to go with Bone Dry and picked my shingles and roof style, the roof went on within a week. The roof looks great, and they did a good job cleaning up after the job, too. I'm very happy with my new roof and with Bone Dry's service. The price was reasonable, too, as compared to the other bids I got for the job.

Ron Russellburg (general manager) came to inspect our damaged roof turbine promptly after my initial phone call to him. Due to the bad weather, there was a slight delay in replacing it, but as soon as the weather improved, he came and replaced it. He even adjusted the estimate to a lower price when he did not have to replace some shingles. I would certainly recommend this company. Ron responded promptly to my phone calls, showed up when promised, and did quality work.

Ron Russelburg, the St. Louis general manager, is terrific. He responded quickly to my initial call on a Tuesday, came by the next day to check out the damage, and was very thorough in his inspection. He went into the attic to identify the location of the two small leaks before going onto the roof. I appreciated that he took pictures of the roof damage with his digital camera so that he could show me what would be repaired. He even went back into the attic to be sure that the insulation in the attic and the ceiling drywall had not been damaged by the water. His estimate was provided in writing and was very reasonable compared to others I received. The work was scheduled for Friday (just two days later!), which was great because it has been raining quite a bit. He arrived promptly, accomplished the work quickly, and left the area entirely clean. I highly recommend Bone Dry Roofing.
