The crew arrived on time. Finished job in one day. I was not at home while they performed the work, when I got home the job was finished. My neighbor reported that the crew didn't mess around, they got up on the roof and did the work efficiently. Everything was cleaned up very well, I haven't even found a stray nail in the yard.
Description of Work: The company removed and replaced old roof.

Overall They earned an 'A'.They appeared as scheduled, cleaned up their mess, were polite, and explained in detial the minor additional repair. This work was done for my 90 year old mother. She noted how they cleaned up their mess, worked in the 100 degree heat, were polite, and explained the minor additional repaired that needed to be done. She felt comfortable with them. She was very happy with both their work and attitude.
Description of Work: This was insurance roof repair to the roof and some additional minor repair to the sheathing.

According to my insurance adjuster, my roof had started to leak because it was poorly installed. Some nails had begun to "pop' causing a number of small leaks. The roof was only ten years old, but I knew it needed to be replaced immediately. Using Angie's list made the choice of selecting a roofer relative easy. I wanted to choose a roofer with a top rating and who had a lot of reviews. Bone Dry was listed in the Super Service Award category for 2010 and 2011 and had been rated as excellent by 95% of 123 customers. It was an easy choice for me. From start to finish, the roof replacement was executed in expert fashion. The removal of the old roof, replacement of damaged boards and the installation of the new roof, as well as the clean-up was completed in five hours or so. I expressed my appreciation and satisfaction to the crew supervisor Josh and the crew leader Giro. I also called Ron Russelburg and told him how happy I was with look of the new roof.
Description of Work: complete roof replacement.

On April 28th, a hailstorm of biblical proportions (golf ball-sized in some cases) carpet-bombed the immediate zipcode. Damage was so extensive, adjusters came from around the country to field the claims. Similarly, work crews and independent contractors arrived from all points of the compass within a radius of 500 miles. There was so much activity that materials were also in short supply. Not wishing to work with out-of-staters and/or cowboys that work independently because of a previous roof issue 14 years ago--a leaking skylight that was supposedly covered by a warranty--and which I had to ultimately repair myself--I called upon Angie's A-rated local shops who had real history in the area. Many, who were newly listed, had created one-liners claiming customer satisfaction since the time of the storm. Since work was so back-logged, I doubted whether they were really legit. I settled on Bone Dry Roofing. Truth be known, however, they are a franchise and officers of the company were sent from Cincinnati while the crew, which was Hispanic, was sent from Indianapolis. Ultimately, after scheduling conflicts, mixed-up numbers that were ultimately corrected with the roofing company and my insurance company, and all the follow-up personally that was needed to stay on top of the job, I was comfortable with Bone Dry's professionalism, the skill of their A-Team crew, and with the efforts of those in the office who maintained the paperwork and worked with my insurance company until the last details were attended to. I would use Bone Dry Roofing again but would not wish this process on anyone. It was exhaustive, made worse by stubborn adjusters quibbling over damage they would and would not cover, a 100+ heatwave, and as mentioned, earlier, the logistics problems caused by so many damaged homes. So far, haven't had any significant rainfall to determine if the skylights are sealed effectively. Am confident Bone Dry will stand by their work if there's a problem. Call your elected officials and remind them that climate-change is caused by CO2--a man-made pollutant. It's time to get serious, folks, about the warnings from science.
Description of Work: New roof with GAF Royal Sovereign 30-year rated shingles (hand-nailed*), new gutters, gutter aprons and drip edge. *Hand-nailing prevents setting nail-gun pressure too high and damaging the composite material. Great clean-up efforts. Area was swept with magnets to pick up every last nail. Work delivered as promised. Very professional.

Overall was a pleasant experience. I chose this company mainly base on the Angie's report and my one time experience with the company. I only got 2 estimate for the job, which I should have at least get one more.

The day of the hail storm, our roof began leaking. On Monday morning I called Bone Dry Roofing and someone was on my roof with a blue tarp within the hour. It began to rain again, but that did not stop him from finishing the job to prevent the water from entering our attic again. It took over a month to finalize the insurance estimate for the roof, and the blue tarp was a ceiling saver for this wait. During this time I was able to pick the type of shingle and color. I had many questions and they were all answered in a very polite and patient manor by Ron Russelburg. I researched many types of shingles and we went with his recommendation to use GAF architectural shingle which had the best manufacture's warrenty. The work was scheduled when I put money down for the job. They showed up promptly on the date scheduled (luckily we did not have any rain to delay the date) and were very courteous, explaining everything that was to be done. Their work was hand-nailed for extra wind protection. The roof is multi-colored, so my husband requested an even layout of the colors - so no straight lines of color appeared. We had seen this happen on other roofs in the area. They were very careful to keep the color pattern varried. At the end of the job, the workers carefully cleaned up the site - better than I could have ever imagined! I searched for debris before the grass was cut the next time, and could not find one piece - anywhere!Bone Dry is a roofing company you can trust to perform all of the work you order. A friend had a company replace her roof after the last hail storm, and needed a new one months later. She discovered she had paid for ice and water shield, but it was never installed on her roof. You won't have to worry about shaddy practices like that with Bone Dry Roofing. I highly recommend them for your roofing job! I have used their services in the past for small repairs, and know they stand by their workmanship warrenty. They are a local company you can trust!

The Bone Dry admin at the home office was extremely friendly and helpful. She scheduled a time for Bone Dry to come for the inspection and even contacted me again when an earlier time became available. The representative was prompt and efficient. He had their company's brochure, additional documentation to help pick the type of roof materials, etc. He completed the bid onsite and was available to answer any questions. I obtained several bids for my roof / gutter project and their price was competitive. The only reason I selected another vendor was that the representative stated several times that I would be required to interact with my insurance company to come to an agreement as to what repairs were covered (And what cost). The vendor I selected stated they would handle this interaction for me.

The roofer inspected my roof and recommended I have two vents placed at different spots. He described three different vent models to me, along with the pros and cons of each, and I decided to have two turbine vents installed. Bone Dry ordered the parts, then returned within a week or two to install them. They were quick and professional, and they did not try to sell me more expensive vents than I needed. I would certainly use their services again.

I called them for a quote after having hail damage. They came to provide an estimate right away and were very thorough in explaining all the work that would need to be done. Once we chose them to fix our roof, they contacted our insurance company and worked out a supplemental claim for the difference in price. They scheduled a date about a month out, which was understandable since there was a lot of hail damage and roofers were backed up. They had a cancellation, and called to see if they could come and do my roof earlier. They showed up that morning with a lot of workers and managed to finish the job in 4 hours. The job site was completely cleaned up and other than having a new roof, you'd never know they were there.
Description of Work: Complete tear off and re-shingle. (15 roofing squares plus 4 sheets of plywood), replace flashing around chimney, replace 2 roof vents, add ridge vent, and properly vent bathroom exhaust through roof.

Ron was quick to respond to my need for an estimate. There had been a hail storm in our neighborhood so I knew they were busy. I was a novice at insurance claims and estimates and Ron took the time to explain it and talk to the insurance company about the differences in their estimates. Cody and his crew were really hard workers on a very hot day and managed to finish in a timely manner. This is a good company from the secretary to the crew to the boss to the bosses boss. I would use them again.

The roof on my detached garage was not replaced when I did the house a few years back, but it developed a leak and it was time to replace it as well. Ron Russelburg came out to provide the estimate and was the only contractor I called who actually got up on the roof and checked it out. The estimate was not the lowest nor the highest, but Ron was the most professional. I signed up for the work and he was able to schedule me on a day along with some other smaller jobs. On the day of service, the crew arrived promptly and was led by the foreman/manager Brian who supervised as well as did some of the carpentry/repair work needed along with the roof. The crew worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves when done. Overall, I was very satisfied with the work and would use them again!
They came on time. The guy was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They were very good but their bid was the highest.

I had contacted Bone Dry Roofing over a year ago to come look at some rot I discovered. Ron came out, took a look and said that he could repair however the cost would be almost half of what it would cost for a new roof. Suggested I install some gutter apron and wait to repair until I was ready for whole roof. A year later, there was hail damage :) Ron came out and we walked through what needed to be done. Extremely professional and friendly. Estimate was very reasonable. Work done with 2 separate crews. First was the roof and it was accomplished in 1 day (including repair of sheathing). The crew was great and it was obvious they took pride in their work. I had a couple questions and those were promptly answered. Crew cleaned up after they were done, taking time to look in bushes, etc so as to not miss anything. Job done very well and the new shingles look awesome. A week later was the gutters. A little mix-up in timing, however they communicated what was happening and made it the next day. New gutters look great! All in all, I am very pleased with the work and will immediately recommend Bone Dry Roofing to anyone in need of the services they perform. Update 1 October After finally getting some rain, I discovered a few of the gutter corner joints leak. These are seamless gutters so the only joints are at the corners. Upon closer inspection, appears that caulking was applied inside in a rather sloppy manner and did not seal some of the joints. Also noticed that the corner reinforcements do not conform to gutter contour. One last observation was that I had 3" x 4" downspouts installed however connection to gutter is a 3" circle and not a 3" x 4" opening. Suggest after job is finished, have Ron come back out for a final inspection to review work accomplished.
Description of Work: Tearoff and installed a 30 year roofing system. Also removed and replaced gutters with 6" seamless including addition of down spouts.

After the hailstorm, we were able to set an appointment for our roof to be inspected quickly. Ron did a thorough inspection and we were able to put in our insurance claim. When the appraiser requested that Ron be there for the inspection, he agreed to come even though this is usually not required. They delivered the shingles the day of installation so they would not be blocking our driveway or posing a danger up on our steep roof. The foreman kept me up to date on what was happening with the installation. I appreciated that he gave me the tip of calling Direct TV right away to set up an appointment to realign our dish if they could not put it back upexactly the same which I did. Ron was very prompt in returning e-mails or calls throughout the whole process. Our roof looks super and we would certainly use this company again and have recommended them to our friends.

I contacted Bone Dry Roofing to receive an estimate on roof repair. The regional manager, Cody, responded immediately to my call. Cody was able to climb on the roof and conduct a thorough investigation. He took plenty of time explaining the concept of roofing process. Cody was very honest and forthcoming about the condition of the roof. I was told that the roof was in the early stages of deteriorating, but a repair to the shingles is still possible. Cody went beyond the call of duty by temporarily attaching shingles to the roof. He wanted to ensure that he did not leave the property with "holes" in the roof.

Bone Dry was nice enough to move my siding and fix the gap for free. However, the salesman tried to sell me an $11,000 new roof! I had loose shingles from a previous repair job. The representative at Bone Dry acted like the entire roof was ready to fall off! The roof is 6 years old. In addition, he quoted me repairs that I did not need ($700.00). I ended up hiring a handyman and fixing the loose shingles for $70.00. Bone Dry called me four times, asking if I wanted to proceed with the work, when I told them the first time that I did not.
Description of Work: Needed loose shingles on the roof fixed and a gap in my siding fixed.

Response from Bone Dry Roofing Inc - St Louis
Hi Member, First, i would like to apologize for any inconvience this has caused you. After looking over the documentation and speaking with the sales rep Cody Hergott, and Amy in our office. Yes, we did call you on May 10th, and then on May 16th. Amy is new in our office as was just making follow up calls, she did not notice you had two repair proposals in our system. So each day she called she called twice once for each repair. Unfortunately, after the first calls on May 10th when she left a voice mail you never responded. So she called again on May 16th, 6 days later. It is our position to call you on at least two different occasions to elicit a response. If you had called or emailed us after the first time we would have removed you from the call list. So again i apologize, we are not a pressure sales company. All of our cutomers could attest to that notion. Now, regarding the estimates. Cody was at your residence on April 23, he did a thorough inspection and informed you of several poor installation techniques on the roof that is currently only 6 years old, and you were already having issues with. During the conversation he let you know of several nail pop issues, the reusing of the flashing kits on the house, and and butt joints that overlapped. All items that could cause you future issues, and result in water leakage in the house. If we don't point those things out and you have a problem after our inspection then you would most definitely ask us why we did not point those things out. While explaining to you the issues at hand, you asked him to give you a verbal idea of what a new roof would cost with us. He gave you a ballpark figure of around $11,000.00. Per him at no time did he tell you needed to replace asap. He just wanted you to be aware of other issues you might start having. And the only way to correct them at one time would be to replace the roof. From what i understand you appreciated the info and would take it into advisement. And since we did not provide a written estimate for the new roof, im not sure how hard we actually were trying to sell you the new roof. Our follow up calls were strictly for the repairs nothing else. We notate all calls we do. So again im happy you were able to get the repair done. And we sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding and confusion in the phone calls and in communicating of the inspection to you. Please, take this into consideration and if you could please amend your report it would be greatly appreciated. While we do not sell ourselves to being a perfect company. We do always try to be honest and profesional inspections for customers like yourself. I can't tell you how many roofs we walk away from because other contractors have told homeowners that they need new roofs, when all they need is a couple hundred dollars spent in maintenance. Best Regards, Ron Russelburg, General Manager, 314-922-8257

The visit to provide a quote went very well and the price was competative. When the day came for installation, they finished the job in one day. The yard was cleaned-up so well that one wouldn't have known that they had been there. A few days after the roof installation we had skylights replaced by a different company. That company's installer's were impressed by the quality of the roofing job. One of Bone Dry's selling points is that they hand-nail the shingles. I was a bit skeptical about that being much of an advantage but the skylight people said that they often see evidence that roofs were installed with improperly adjusted nail guns.
Description of Work: Bone Dry personnel removed the old roofing materials and installed new shingles. They also installed ridge vents and new vent pipes.

They did the entire job in one day with a crew of about eight. They were efficient and left the yard/home clean. They took proper precautions to protect my windows/doors/garage/deck/plants and everything was left in as good a shape as before they started. the communication with Ron and his crew throughout the process was great. Phone calls and emails were promptly returned and all information I requested was provided (much of it via email so I had it "in writing" which I like). He even provided a lien waiver via mail within a week of the job without me pestering him; Not often the case, in my experience.

Everyone was great. We got an estimate and began work shortly. Guys doing the work even noticed we had a piece of soffit falling down and they repaired without us asking. While working on the flashing by one bay window, they noticed the other bay had a similar situation, so they made the same fix. We haven't had a problem since. I would highly recommend. I feel they were professional and trustworthy.
Description of Work: Had leaking in an upstairs bedroom ceiling and at downstairs ceiling where the outside flashing is by a bay window.
