For more than 30 years, Bone Dry Roofing, Inc. has built its reputation as the premier roofing contractor across the Midwest. We have been a family owned and operated company since 1989. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. After-hour services available. Award winning.
The repair was done in a timely and professional manner. Perhaps it's the Angie's List difference (we are new subscribers), but this is bar none the best experience I have ever had hiring a home contractor. In any case, we are permanent members of Angie's list and will use Bone Dry again in the future.

The job went wonderful. I have no complaints whatsoever. I had checked with the BBB as well as other people that had used the company. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves every day. The salesman and workers were professional and very knowledgable. They try to please the customer with anything that is asked of them. I would refer them to anyone looking to have their roof worked on.

I needed about 30 shingles replaced due to storm damage (not enough for an insurance claim) and squirrels had chewed away at every vent seal on the roof. I picked Bone Dry roofing based on reviews from Angie's list and they didn't disappoint. Prompt, professional and quality work. Everything was done in about 3 hours and the color match of the new shingles are perfect. Nice job.

I'm of split mind with this review and what I want to give them. We have had a leak around our skylight since about the time we moved in. The roof was new so I was concerned about the leak. The original company refused to fix it for us. So we found Bone Dry. First let me say they have been very nice people in every aspect. I don't like giving even slightly negative reviews to nice people, but quite frankly, nice doesn't keep my house dry. They came and gave us an estimate. The initial estimate was for $550. Then, when they got on the roof to start working the notice wood rot. The worker stopped and said that they would need to get another estimate because the damage was more extensive than what he thought. I understand that, you can't always know what's going on underneath. About a week later the rep came out and looked at the room and gave us the new estimate of $2200 for all of the work that would need to be done. We told them to proceed. My husband also told them that we would we would be going out of town and we were told that would be fine, they would fix the roof on the Thursday or Friday that we were gone. We got back on Sunday night and the roof wasn't done. The worker did come back on Memorial day to finish the roof. In talking to him I learned that he had been sick and couldn't finish the first day he came out. He finished and everything looked great. A couple of days later our skylights started leaking. I called and e-mailed the company because I was concerned. The man came out to look at our skylight, he said he sealed everything again but he didn't see any reason for the leak. The next rain, our skylights started leaking again. The man doing the work had given me his cell phone number so I called him. He said it was probably a bad skylight and he would have to have someone come with the rep and look at the skylight. It took a little over a week for them to do that. I wouldn't have minded so much except it rained a lot and damage was done to our ceiling that was not there before. I guess I thought that they might have come out and covered the area with all the rain we were having if they knew it would take that long to get there. They came out and did work again, I wasn't home and I was left a note with the worker's cell number again. I was never told if the skylight was replaced or not, 3 weeks after the skylights had been "fixed". Yesterday I called the cell because of a non-water issue that was concerning. The man had told me that he had told my husband of that issue and that the skylight was not replaced but it was just resealed. I felt like they looked at my case as a case closed thing. Now I'm left with a ceiling with awful water damage that I'll have to pay to repair. All in all they were very slow to respond to any issue after the contract was signed. I feel the professionalism was lacking because they did not seem concerned about the work was done. I'm also a little upset because they never even offered to look at the drywall or patch it. My favorite moment of this was when I called the office. I was upset because of all the damage and lack of communication. I explained the situation to the woman on the phone. I told her I was sorry because I knew she wasn't the one doing the work and this was the first time she had heard my issue and she told me "that's ok, I get people calling to complain all the time."

Ron Russelburg was absolutely great! He helped us pick out the shingles. He also encouraged us to do a ridge vent, which is very important with new roof installation, and that was a great idea! The ridge vents weren't very expensive. We met with him back in November 2011. We figured with bad weather coming up we would have the work done the following March, which we did. My real estate agent came out and looked at the work as it was being done and also said they were doing an excellent job. Our agent also confirmed the ridge vents were a good idea. We were more than 1,000 miles away so we were a little hesitant at first, but again, our real estate agent assured us everything was going well. Ron did also call and confirm with us once everything was finished. That was a nice added bonus. He was very nice and has great follow through. They did a terrific job!

Brian was great. He told me what he thought the issues were. It turned out to be mostly tuckpointing and crown work on my chimney. The St. Louis office of Bone Dry doesn't handle masonry work, so he isn't able to make the fix. However, he gave me recommendations of who I could call to get it done. He was very thorough and even took pictures while he was on the roof, so I could see the problems in detail. Very nice and friendly. He also told me about some flashing work that I could have done, but was honest in that it wouldn't fix the problem I was having. I appreciate the honesty, as most companies would just tell you to have the work done so that they could make some money. I will definitely call them if I ever have roof issues!

I received four bids for this work. All were close in price plus or minus 5%. I chose Bone Dry because of the information received from their brochures and the recommendation from Angie?s list. The sales person was knowledgeable and low pressure. He took time to show me how they installed the new roof shingles. He recommended a particular tile for our application and explained why. He was not opposed to using another manufactures tile, but definitely had a preference for the tile he used. He also made a point to tell me that they hand nailed the shingles. Both of these things required some research on the internet on our part. As it turns out, most roofing contractors seem to agree that hand nailing the shingles produces better installation quality. It is slower, but fewer problems arise from damage to tiles during the installation. Also the research on the tile (Certainteed) was also one of the favorites of other contractors. We set a date for installation (about 4 weeks out) and were pleased to get a call that they could accomplish the installation two weeks early then planed. Job site: they protected everything including our swimming pool, window, landscaping and even put tarps down in the driveway to protect against oil leaks from their truck. Much appreciated! They also combed the grass with rolling magnets to pick up nails or staples that might have been put there during the removal of the old roof. Service: They showed up with a large crew and a supervisor when they said they would. All employees were wearing company shirts and polite. This is a fairly large roof (50 squares). They were in and out in one day! Impressive. I would definitely recommend Bone Dry to a friend or neighbor. They performed as advertised.

It went very well. They came with a crew of 10 plus the supervisor. Completed a rather large roof project in one day. One very long day for them. (Member name removed), Thank You for your feedback. I apologize for the inconvenience. However, we do not service Wentzville.. And it is on the Angie's List website.. I spoke with Lori in my office. And she states she did try to arrange a appointment for you anyways for next week. And you declined the appointment. I understand we also referred to some other potential roofers.. I hope they were able to assist in the timely matter you needed.. Have a great day.. Ron Russelburg. 314-922-8257

It went very smoothly. I explained what we needed, they gave me options, showed up quickly and did a nice job. They even followed up like we asked them to, to make sure we didn't have anymore damage.
Description of Work: We had wind damage to our roof and shingles standing up. They were very professional in explaining our options. He was honest up front in telling us which way would be the best and least expensive. Someone came by the same day and fixed the area to prevent any damage to our roof since we had shingles standing straight up. They later sent out the estimator to see if we had anymore damage and found a few things that he felt could wait. He could have easily told us it "had" to be done but was honest enough to tell us we had some time before we needed to get it done. We will definitely call them next time we need any outside repairs.

Most neighbors in the area with houses of the same age have replaced or repaired their roof due to age and/or storm damage. I asked Bone Dry for an estimate, and after a thorough inspection (he actually went up on the roof) was told that our roof was good for another 5 years or more before needing to be replaced. He did find a very small area that could be repaired, and gave me an estimate of $300 to fix it, because he said that was their minimum charge, but that it really wasn't necessary. I am not sure any other company would have been so honest.

They were prompt, responsive and professional from the first consultations, to choosing the type of shingles, to putting on the whole new roof. The scheduling lead time was reasonable, only of a couple of weeks, and we had plans that limited the possible dates, There were date changes due to weather but in the end it was all in one day between two days of rain. They build in extra day into their scheduling just for this. They protected as best they could the plantings around the foundation of the house with plywood sheeting. They used a magnet roller and a hand magnet to find nails in the yard. The foreman on the job was OK with my coming out a few times to see how things were going and with answering my questions. Most impressive was have hard the crew of 10 worked. The roof looks fine. It was tested the next day and in the week following by heavy rains, and all is dry. Since this was part of a mold remediation job, the roofers did agree to let the mold remediation men work inside the attic as they tore off the roof so that the molf men could scrub in the small angle at the roof edge and so that they could work for at least part of the day with good ventilation. At first Bone Dry was hesitant about this, worried about the mold men getting hurt. But the two companies saw that it was possible. So that was a good omen. There was only one bump at the outset of the total roof replacement. Bone Dry was sure they did not need a building permit and also that they intented to a thinner plywood than I was comfortable with. Just to make sure, I called my local building permit office. Bone Dry was correct; they did not need a building permit. But, the minimum thickness for the plywood decking was 5/8" Bone Dry made the change without resistance (and the bid was adjusted for the change) and I also learned later that they had called city hall themselves. I've takend care of this house for 37 years and this is the best work experience I've ever had.
Description of Work: Repaired leaking vents in Feb. Then it was determined (mold problem) to replace roof including the wood decking. The crew worked non-stop, staggering breaks, from 8:30am to 6:30pm. They tore off old shingles and old plank decking. Installed new decking, buildt a new cricket for the chimney and , installed new vents, liner, shingles. And they cleaned up well.

In June, 2011, we chose Bone Dry over two other bidders for a roof leak and chimney repair even though they were not the lowest bid. We did so because of the proposed repair, which we thought was more of a quality and complete repair. We were very happy with their professionalism and quality of work. Bone Dry was chosen as a bidder using Angie's List. In March of this year, we needed a complete roof due to storm damage. Because of our past experience with Bone Dry and Ron Russelburg, Gen. Mgr., we only called Bone Dry for a bid. Again, we were impressed with the proposed quality of their proposal and the professionalism of Ron. Ron worked with our insurance company adjuster to offer us a fair settlement. Although we did not have other bids, we did have the agreement of our insurance adjuster that the price was reasonable. Ron offered other upgrade options for our consideration without any "salesman" pressure. We elected some of the upgrades which were in addition to our insurance settlement. We had phone contact with Rich Kiel, a management employee, to set and confirm the installation date. The Bone Dry crew showed up right on schedule and completed the job in one full day. Rich Kiel was here at the start and finish of the job. Another gentleman, from the HQ office in Indianapolis, also was here to get the job started. In addition, another "Rich" (can't remember the last name) was the Job Foreman and was here all day with the crew. All three went over the job with us as the crew got ready to go, just to make sure everyone understood the task. We were pretty impressed. All were professional, friendly, and eager to please. "Rich", the Job Foreman, answered our questions all day long and consulted with us when needed. He was a terrific guy to work with. As darkness started to fall, the crew wrapped up, cleaned up, and had provided an overall quality job. We were very pleased.
Description of Work: Strip and install complete roof with additions of roof and edge vents, bath exhaust fans, and upgraded vent pipe boots. The additions were outside the insurance coverage.

Bone Dry Roofing, Inc.-St. Louis replaced our old roof with a new updated roof. The company did an excellent job and we think we got more than our money's worth for this project. The quality of the materials and the warranty behind the product certainly exceeded our expectations. The sales team for Bone Dry Roofing, Inc.-St. Louis, listened to our concerns about the project and met our deadline for installation. We would highly recommend this company to anyone who seriously needs to replace or repair his or her roof.
Description of Work: We needed our roof replaced because of hail damage in 2012. We initiated the homeowners claim with our insurance company in January 2013 and we contacted six roofers in the St. Louis Metro for bids. Only two of the six roofers said they would hand nail the roofing shingles to our roof decking (plywood boards). Our insurance claims adjuster recommended that the shingles be hand nailed to the roof rather than using a nail gun. The six bids ranged from $5500 to $16,000 for a 1500 square foot ranch home. We selected Bone Dry Roofing, Inc.-St. Louis, since we found it was easy to work with their management, sales, and roofing team. They suggested that we eliminate the two wind turbines, an old analog TV antenae, and update the roof with ridge vents and architectural shingles. The architectural shingles are twice as thick as ordinary shingles and can withstand higher wind speeds (ie. 90 to 120 mph). The shingles have a 30 year warranty which is excellent. The roofers came out and installed our new roof on March 20, 2013. The weather that day was cold and windy. Temperatures were in the 30's. We weren't sure if they would be able to finished the job that day; however, the roofers surprised us and were done in just six hours. We think the entire staff at Bone Dry Roofing, Inc.-St. Louis did a terrific job. They were professional, dedicated, honest, and a hard-working group of individuals. We would highly recommend this company to our family, friends, and neighbors.
