This was our final bid for our roof/gutters. They gave us the roof/gutter bid, which was for a 1600 square foot home. We had 5 other roof/gutter bids from reputable big companies prior to this. The bid was far and away the highest bid by over 3k. When we told the guy this, he looked stunned and told us he couldn't believe that because he said that BONE DRY BASES THEIR PRICING ON WHAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY PAYS!!! Our insurance company gave us a very fair price for our roof/gutters and it fell within ALL the other 5 bids we received-lol. This company practices price-gouging based on our bid and knowing that we were a insurance claim, and we've now heard from others along the way in the business our claim is the norm. Furthermore, they never even followed up with the siding bid that we had them come out for either. Very unprofessional! FERGUSON ROOFING is who we ended up using. Read their reviews. They have been beyond amazing. Ask for Mike Harvey, he will come out, listen to your needs, and give you a very fair price. He is the coolest guy we've ever met in the business. This company knows how to do business, treating you like a person and not just a sale.
Description of Work: Bill came out to give us a bid on our roof and siding/gutters. We contacted this company based on reviews found on Angie's list.

The estimate was provided as scheduled and proved to be accurate for the work that was performed. The actual repairs were performed when I was told they would be. The roofer who performed the work had a very long day of work, but everything was done in one day. The clean up was done to my satisfaction and the entire area where refuge had fallen was gone over with a magnet as promised. We have had one significant rain since the repair was performed and the problem has been solved. I was very happy with the work performed and would definitely use Bone Dry Roofing again.
Description of Work: Repaired roof which was causing leaks. The roof problems had been caused by poor roofing work performed by other companies.

I had a leaking sky light. I called 3 companies asking if they could come take and look and let me know if it could be repaired. Two companies told me that they would call back to schedule and appointment. Bone Dry Roofing made an appointment during the first call. They came out took a look, showed me pictures and discussed my options. I elected to replace both sky lights in my kitchen. Tony came to do the work at 8:30 in the morning. He took his time and installed both and cleaned up after he was done. He explained everything he had done and showed me pictures of the work. The sky lights are in and I have not had any further leaking. They look great. I would use Bone Dry Roofing again and would definitely recommend them to my family or friends.

We use Angie's List quite often and unfortunately Bone Dry, ranked at the top at the time, was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. Our roof was leaking into our bedroom. During the initial estimate, the roofer showed pictures of our problem and also showed pictures of our gutter having a hole in it. The quote for both the leak and gutter solution was actually more than other estimates but based on Angie's List ranking and the fact they said that both jobs would be done in 10-14 days we went with Bone Dry. It was explained the chimney problem would be done in 7-10 days and the gutters within 2 weeks but there would be 2 different crews. We wanted that guarantee because we had renters moving in 4 weeks from the original estimate. We made sure several times that Bone Dry was aware of this. The leak was repaired as promised but no word was mentioned about when the gutter crew would be coming which should have been within a few days after the chimney repair. Well, no word and no gutter repair. We told our main point of contact, Brian, to be sure the gutters get fixed soon because it was already over 2 weeks from when we agreed on to go with Bone Dry. He reassured me it would not be a problem. Now, I realize that it rained a few days during the month but we continued to get word that it would all be done in time. Several days before our renter's moved in, still no word on when the job would be done. We called Brian again and he told us it would be done the day before the renters moved in. He actually tried to blame us during this conversation. He said it was our fault because it took so long to tell him what color we wanted the gutters. This was not true. He called us for the color on a Thurs and my wife got back to him on Fri. Since I really didn't have any say in the matter, I said that is fine as long as the job is done before our renter's moved in, no matter what. Well, it rained that day and I called again. They said the might be able to try and get it done that night if the rain slowed down. It did and they didn't show. The gutter representative said they would get it done the morning the renter's moved in and be gone before the renter's arrived at 9am. The renter's arrived and the gutter team was on our roof still. They did not finish until after 11am. This was a horrible impression for our renters. In the end, this may affect their decision to extend the lease. Also, we had asked them to leave our copper gutters they were taking down so we could recycle them. Because our renters were already at the house the gutters could not be left. Since Bone Dry was so tardy with getting the job done we felt it was reasonable to have a Bone Dry rep, take in the gutters for us, get the money and receipt and give us the money. I figured this was the least they could do after not getting the job done on time as promised. They did not agree to this. They could give us some pizza coupons to compensate us but couldn't give us the money (I'm serious they actually said this even though we were moving out of the state). After several weeks of negotiation and stress, they took 25% and we got 75% of the money. At one point during the negotiation, we said we'd just come in and pick them up and do it ourselves. We did and their gutter guy had never dropped them off at the main office, again wasting our time. If that wasn't enough, after the fact, Brian made the excuse that they had been moving offices and that our work order got lost. Obviously at that point, we were not interested in their excuses. Overall our impression is that Bone Dry does not communicate well, does not meet the professional standard they claim to meet, and cause more angst then help. Time will tell if our roof issues are truly fixed.

They were quick to respond to our request for a quote and promptly responded to questions via email. They worked to try to get the roof installed sooner, but had to keep moving the date due to repeated rain events. They finally got a rain-free window, and did the installation on a Saturday, because rain was expected again the next week. The job supervisor was on-site and took pictures of boards that were damaged to show us, so we could authorize the boards being replaced. They took steps to protect the house exterior, windows, and landscaping from roof debris. They thoroughly cleaned the area of any remaining debris when they finished, and went around the perimeter with a magnet to pick up any dropped nails. They damaged the TV antenna on the roof, however they accepted responsibility without question and paid the replacement cost. Be aware that their warranty requires that only they do any repair work and that they inspect the roof every 5 years, or their warranty will be voided. This was not emphasized to us in any discussion, however it was included in the bid packet.

Bone Dry provided an estimate with photos to document condition of old roof and explained replacement options clearly. Service was scheduled promptly (estimate 8/13; service 8/29). Shingles, felt, and nails were delivered the day prior to installation. Roof crew phoned 15 minutes in advance of arrival on 8/29 to be sure driveway was clear of cars. They protected windows with plywood sheets and lawn and plantings with tarp. All of the roof work-removal, repair of boards, installation of new roof, ridge vent and chimney flashing, and thorough cleanup-was done in a single day by a large, very hard-working crew. The crew supervisor went over the work with me when it was completed. I had asked for photos of the chimney tuck-pointing. I was shown these as well as photos of the damaged boards needing repair. and was sent copies by email . I paid at completion of the work on 8/29. I was impressed by the professionalism with which the whole process was handled and I am very pleased with the outcome. I would recommend Bone Dry unequivocally!

[member name removed], After researching your report this morning we have found that this was a hail inspection from June 2012. Our sales rep Brian McNamee spoke with your husband since you were not present for the appointment and explained that he did not see signs of hail damage and both agreed there was not a need for a quote at that time. Based on our records we have never been out to look at a balcony. Please, contact Angie's List to remove this negative report. At this time we have determined we did everything needed of us in 2012. If there is anything else you need let me know. Thank You for your assistance. Ron Russelburg 314-922-8258

The team of roofers and manager arrived on time for the install. They carefully protected all shrubs, plants, windows, and decking. They reviewed the type and color of shingles to be installed with me. They explained the old roof cleanup and installation process so that I understood what would be happening. They cleared the old roofing material quickly and efficiently. They were careful around my chimney that is in dire need of tuck-pointing (later next month with another Angie's list company). They effectively installed the new roof and vents effectively. I have yet to have rain after 1.5 weeks since installation, so I have not had the ability to confirm it leak free. The team manager was very conscientious and keep me updated on the progress of the install. They found no base wood sheets that needed replacing, so there was no additional charges for the install. They did an excellent job of cleanup after the install and made sure we were satisfied with the look of our new roof before leaving. I will have them out again to re-flash the chimney after the other company does the chimney tuck-pointing, so that I know it is done correctly. The team was quiet, efficient and courteous. My attic is much cooler than it was with the passive ridge vent system and the garage is cooler with the wind turbine vents. I appreciate the professional job provided by the team from Bone Dry Roofing and would highly recommend them to others in the future.

The shingles were dropped off by the supplier on Thursday. 8-15-2013. The fellow who delivered the shingles was as nice as he could be and very conscientious about putting the shingles exactly where we wanted them. Ron's crew (Richard Kammplain was the crew chief) came out Monday and began work. Rich clearly explained to me exactly what they were going to do- prep, installation, clean up and final inspection. Well--this quiet and hard working crew worked like a well oiled machine--by individual; each knew what to do. Oh almost forgot to mention they covered my landscaping and even moved some hanging baskets at risk of getting hit by old roof. (I did not have to do a thing) Then they went to work--truly very hard working focused, and tidy. It was obvious this was a dedicated team used to working with one another. They told me they would finish in a day and they did. Ron stopped by several times during the day. Rich was there all day. When the roof was in, the crew walked around our property looking for any pieces of trash, nails, etc. and hung the flower basket back and uncovered the landscaping. Then they used a machine that looked like a manual lawnmower that picked up nails. They covered every square inch of our yard. Both Rich and Ron climbed up on the roof to do a final inspection and I do not mean up and right back down.... they were thorough. Rich and Ron (and I truly mean this)--were a pleasure with whom to work. There was nothing they could not explain and they always had a smile. It was so evident that no matter what, they wanted us to be happy clients. Several neighbors have stopped by to compliment us on the GREAT roof. This roof will outlast us. I highly recommend BONE DRY Roofing. Oh and Kim Goessling who does all the behind the scenes office work is so nice and efficient.
Description of Work: Ron Russelberg came to our home on July 22, 2013 to discuss Bone Dry services and what specifically they could do for us. We decided go with the Landmark upgrade shingles in Weathered Wood, along with drip edge, gutter, apron and ridge vent.

I called and scheduled an appointment. The office set up the appointment quickly and than sent a email to verify the time. On the day of the appointment, Brian called to let me know he was going to be 5 minutes late. I was already impressed. At the appointment, Brian did a great job in showing me where the problem was coming from. He than gave me 3 estimates to fix the situation. Good, Better, Best. All 3 were fairly priced. A week later, Brian called to see if I had any questions. They were the best priced and I felt comfortable with them, so I signed the contract. Brian said that they would get me on the schedule. Since it was a repair, he could not give me an exact time frame. The next week Tony called and said that he would be there on Tuesday to do the work starting at 8 a.m. On the morning of the repair, Tony called to say he would be a little later than 8. (I appreciate people letting me know even if it's just a few minutes.) Tony came to the house explained again what would be done and than started working. He did an amazing job, keeping me updated throughout the process. My neighbor's have small children who were very interested in what he was doing. Tony was kind and very cautious of their well being. It made his job harder, but he didn't the children to be put in harm's way. The job took longer than expected, but Tony was cheerful the entire time. During the day different people came to look at the job. Than at the end of the day, another one of the roofers came and helped Tony finish. I was impressed with the job that was completed and the pricing. More importantly, I was impressed with the level of care and service. I felt that at all times, Bone Dry wanted me to be happy. Great job! Reba

The materials arrived on-site the day promised and the work crew arrived next day on time. At the start , it was as if someone blew a whistle and everyone immediately moved to task. There was NO prompting or yelling or any negative interaction between the job foreman and the work crew. Everybody knew their job and went right to work. The work was completed in a competent, clean, neat professional manner. The work started about 8:00 am and by 2:00 pm, we had a new roof (approx. 33 squares, not too steep, old roof stripped to the sheathing). The workers were careful with shrubs etc., constantly cleaning up debris, polite, worked in a safe manner, and I think most important, conscious of the quality and workmanship of the job. Pricing was competitive with the other bids we received - we contacted the top four companies on Angie's list. We definitely would recommend them and if we should ever need another roof, they will be the company we will use.

They were great. I do not have any complaints at all. They did a great job and wrote up the bid for me. They contacted me afterwards to see if I was going to proceed. They were fine with my insurance company saying that I did not have roof damage. There were no problems. I drove by there; they do have an office here in St. Louis. I looked at some samples there, they were great, and they allowed me to take the samples to my house and look at them in the context of my own home. I have no complaints at all. I would give them all “A” s for the experience that I had with them. Based on my experience with them, I would certainly consider them again.

Contacting Bone Dry Roofing and getting an estimate was easy. The price on the estimate was good. I was shown several pictures of my current roof (so I didn't have to climb the ladder and risk falling) and shown where the problem areas were. Scheduling the service was a hassle. During the process I spoke with Kim when calling. A week after mailing in my contract (mailed on July 11th) I called and was told I would be put on the calendar soon and notified when they could get to my roof . I called a week later and was told that as soon as the project manager was in they would work to schedule my work and I should expect a call the next morning (July 19th). I did not receive a phone call. I called Bone Dry Roofing on Monday (July 22nd) was put on hold briefly and was told they would be able to do the work on Thursday, August 1st. *Note: I remember that I was told Thursday, August 1st, because typically I try to schedule contract workers on Fridays or Saturdays due to my work schedule. I decided I could make it work if neither my wife nor I had to stay home while the work was being performed. On August 1st my wife stayed home to greet the roofers and the plan was that she would leave once they arrive and I would be home before they were finished to inspect the work. I called Bone Dry Roofing after 9am on August 1st and was told I was scheduled for August 2nd, and the because of the weather forecast they would like to reschedule the work. I told them that Friday morning would work best. Another job was delayed so that my house could be put in on the next Friday. The workers showed up promptly on the morning that the work was to be performed. I was not home during the work. The new roof looks great. I don't remember the gentleman's name that did the "walk-through" with me, but he took the time to explain and point out all of the details of the work that was completed. The workers cleaned up almost everything (I later found two nails and a cigarette butt in my grass. In my opinion that's a good clean up job). The parts and labor warranty, and company history and reputation make me feel very comfortable that the new roof will last.

Never met a more professional organization than Bone Dry Roofing. They were in touch with me because of weather, when they were on the way, if they had an issue (boards to be replaced) unbelievable. The roofers were never stopped working they did take lunch I believe? Very pleasant and always had a smile on their faces even in the heat. When it rained the house was covered completely and time was spent picking up not sitting around. When the roofing was completed various types of magnets were run over the yard, driveway, bushes to pick up what was missed by the tarps that were everywhere. Then the boards that covered all the windows were taken down and a power blowers were used to make sure the dust was off the deck and patio. The supervisor was on site most of the day unless he needed to get supplies which gave me a sense of relief. After the roof was finished he called his boss who came to check the job. Great Company...I highly recommend them!

It went very well. The first thing I noticed that was great is that someone actually answered the phone! Competitors should take note. This is called customer service. This was especially surprising given that we had just had a tornado rip through the area a few weeks before I called and I had spent that time leaving messages for other companies and never getting a call back. So I was so surprised when Bone Dry Roofing, not only, answered the phone, but also scheduled an estimate visit within a few days. Ron was very thorough and factual. He pointed out things that were damaged and what exactly was required to fix it. Unlike another company, he wasn't trying to gouge the insurance company. He was honest and accurate. The roofers repaired the roof and put on a new one within 10 days and the siding repair shortly thereafter. The foreman kept us informed each step of the way. This is a very customer service oriented company that performs quality, reasonably priced work. Thanks to Ron, Richard and the rest of their crew.

did a full tear off and reroof. also replaced shingled system on dormer verticals with homewrap and vinyl siding. jobs got scheduled separately (roof first, siding followed a couple weeks later) due to having to order siding materials. roof job went well - crew showed up on time and finished in one day. replaced about 160 ft of old rotted roof plank. crew did an excellent job installing (hand nailed) and cleaning up - i found only 3 nails in the yard after they had done their cleanup job. roof performs great and looks even better. siding job also went well and took only one day. really makes a difference in the appearance of the home and performance of the roof system. i would recommend that you invite this company to bid if you are considering a roofing job.

Ron Russelburg was very thorough & professional in giving us a bid for a new roof. He alerted us to various matters that might have to be addressed during the job, such as replacing damaged plywood, and discussed how those would be dealt with, so there would be no surprises once the work started. Ron gave us plenty of time to mull over our choice of shingle color. He brought over several color samples & gave us locations where we could see finished roofs in the colors we were interested in. On the day scheduled for the work, the crew arrived early, tore off the old roof and laid the new roof. They were very diligent in protecting our doors & windows from any accidental damage, while they did their work. Before replacing any damaged plywood, they discussed what they found with us, so we could approve any additional repairs. The crew was very thorough in cleaning up all debris, especially old nails, before they left. A supervisor was on site the whole day directing & overseeing the crew. At the end of the day, we were very happy with the finished job & would highly recommend Bone Dry Roofing to anyone in need of roof repairs or a new roof.

The experience was good from the original call in the middle of a downpour to tarp my leaking roof at 5:00 on a Friday evening. Brian, the salesman, was incredibly nice and patient with my questions regarding insurance, etc. I didn't meet the work crew on the day of the job because they were running late due to an accident on the highway. But they did call to let me know that. The crew supervisor came back to my house a few weeks later when I had a question about re-attaching loose cables to my brick exterior. He re-attached them and was extremely nice about it. I would highly recommend Bone Dry Roofing.

He said even thought their was some damage it was not enough to qualify for insurance claim. Brian took time to explain what insurance adjusters will accept before they will pay to replace roof. I was impressed with the time he took to explain things. He was not in a hurry to go since their wasn't going to be any immediate business for his company. When the time comes for roof replacement I definitely will call them.
