Bone Dry Roofing Inc - St Louis

This is the second time I've used Bone Dry Roofing, and the second time I've been pleased with the results. Ron was extremely responsive and easy to work with. The work crew called when they were on the way, showed up when they said they would, and worked hard for over 10 hours to complete the job... on the (so far) hottest day of the year.

We discovered a leak in our attic in early December and contacted Bone Dry for a quote so we could plan to get it repaired before the holiday. Ron came out within a few days to inspect our roof even though there was still a bit of snow still on it and informed us that there were small holes along the ridge due to poor installation. He provided pictures, explained the repair plan, and gave us a quote and timing estimate so that we could make our decision. He and his team were prompt and professional and we have not had any issues with our roof since.

Thorough job in all aspects - went up into attic to help diagnose the problem. Very pleasant, professional. Feel like they were fair and honest and this goes a long way with me.

The estimator came out quickly and explained the differences in types of gutter screens available. The estimate was thorough. Due to back-up caused by recent rains, I had to wait about 10 days for the repairs, but that was okay. The repair guys were courteous and efficient. Overall, it was a very good experience. I didn't get other estimates.

Generally we are satisfied with the work and would use them again. However, it did seem to take a while for them to provide the service. I understand that they were behind because of storm damage, etc. It is a busy time of year. I would have appreciated a little better communication and update on their availability. They showed up for the second part of the job without calling us beforehand. We were not at home at the time.

It went great. I would give them all an A. They were very professional.

These guys do an outstanding job on customer service, quality and value. We did multiple bids and although BDR wasn't the absolute low bidder, they were close enough to overwhelm the competition with the quality of their services. BDR took out the guesswork on estimating the shingle requirements by using a satellite image service to get exact measurements and slants for each of the 23 individual surfaces of our roof (at their expense and prior to being awarded the job). Note that a big name StL roofing contractor provided a bid that was 43% higher than BDR ... perhaps a drive-by estimate. We had a difficult time selecting the exact shingle color so they gave us multiple customer addresses to allow a drive-by look prior to final selection. The sales manager took the time to explain why BDR's hand nailing process (though more costly) is far superior from a quality standpoint to the use of nail guns. He also laid out a plan for a proper ridge venting system to further extend the life of the new roof. The complexity of the job required three days to complete, smack dab in the middle of the St. Louis summer thunderstorm season. The install team worked section by section and did not get caught by the two massive storms during the installation. The working supervisor gave us his cell number in the event we had any leakage problems overnight (we didn't). The crew was professional and cleaned up the site daily. I would highly recommend Bone Dry Roofing.

They did an excellent job. Did a thorough clean up after job was completed. Everyone very helpful. Quick response to request for quote. Will definitely use them in the future!

Our homeowner's insurance company wanted us to use another roofer in town. After reading some reviews on Angie's List, we decided to go with another company, with some more trusted reviews. We collected estimates from a handful of companies, and Bone Dry seemed to give us a reasonable bid and (in this case, more importantly) a quick turnaround. I understand that it is not me climbing up on the roof and doing the replacement myself, but I didn't want this job to wait until the dog days of St. Louis summer. We had some wind damage that initially occurred in the winter, and it grew worse in the spring after some severe weather. We had a patch, and that blew off. I didn't want any water damage in my new home. Bone Dry told us that our small home was a one day job, which was nice to hear. For the day of the installation, the crew was an hour late getting to my home. They said it was due to traffic, but I knew that no matter what the excuse was--this was certainly going to cut into the amount of work they could accomplish during the daylight hours. After they showed at 9am, they took lunch 90 minutes later (you can tell when suddenly all of the loud banging and crashing sounds go quiet). The removal of our current roof didn't take long. The foreman of the job periodically knocked on my door to keep me aware of their progress. At one point he told me they spotted some rotting wood that needed to be replaced (at the cost of $5.50 per 1x8 board) and that more often than not, these charges are NOT covered by insurance. I needed everything in writing that was for sure. They had to replace 45 boards on the roof! Luckily, my insurance did in fact pick up the tab for that pop up charge. Of course, they did not fit everything into the one day as previously promised. But they were sure to be back at the house at 7am (this time they managed to be more punctual and early). The crew worked diligently and the new roof was put on and careful detailed work was given to the flashing around our chimney. A thorough job in the clean up process, using a magnet to clean up all roofing nails and other debris. For a job that had to be done, it was relatively an easy and smooth-ish transaction.

I did not have services done but I wanted to give a review on responsiveness. Ron replied to my message almost immediately and called the next day even though it was memorial weekend. Very professional and nice. It is rare to find any company who is so quick to reply and let you know they saw your request.

I made an appt to get an estimate. They said it would take a week just get someone out to my house for the estimate. I took the day off from work to get the estimate. 3 hours before the appt, they called to tell me they dont work on flat roofs. They admitted that i told them that i had both a flat roof and a pitched roof and that the person who took the appt. should have told me that they dont work on flat roofs. So while my roof is potentially leaking, they wasted a week of my time and a day off work.

We contacted Bone Dry and within a day had received a response for an estimator to visit at our convenience. Ron arrived a few minutes early and within 20 minutes had assessed the situation and walked me through the process in detail of what they would provide. He also mentioned that our insulation in the attic was not up to code, something that we were aware of and had not been mentioned by previous bidders. This was a Wednesday. We contracted with Bone Dry for work to be done and set an appointment for the repairs to be done the next Monday.That Monday Tony and Richie arrived within half an hour of the agreed-to start time and began work immediately on the insulation. One of them also began minor repairs on the roof. Due to the threat of thunderstorms that late afternoon through early evening with a forecast for sunny skies through Thursday of that week we agreed to postpone the complete roof repair until the next day. The next day the roof repair was completed as promised. All work was completed professionally, in budget and on time.

Bone Dry was very responsive to my call, as the area was experiencing heavy thunderstorms. As promised on the phone, they showed up at my house to get the initial cover on the roof the same day and returned to repair the roof as soon as weather permitted. The repairs occurred while i was at work and upon my return that evening, the repair was complete and the job site was completely clean of the old materials. The Bone Dry group was very courteous and responsive.

I called and told them that I had two areas of my roof where it looked like the shingles had fallen off and I thought it was from a recent wind and hail storm. A representative came out just two days later and informed me that the damage was do to an animal trying to get in. He gave me an estimate and knowing that I was very anxious to get it fixed quickly, said he would try to get someone out as soon as possible. A repairman came out just a few days later and repaired my roof.

It looks fine. It looks like its supposed to.

Brian, the sales representative, spent one hour inspecting roof and attic. Took pictures during inspection and provided detailed report on issues. Gave reasonable estimate to fix bathroom vents that had not been properly installed by builder and increase insulation to R49. Workers arrived on time for appointment and did excellent job. Provided pictures of work after completion and cleaned up any mess after they were done. Couldn't be more pleased with work done. Highly recommend this company.

It was great. Tony showed up on time and was very professional. Repairs went quickly and Tony cleaned up nicely. I used Bone Dry in the past and will use them in thew future.

Tony and his assistant (sorry, didn't catch his name) from Bone dry arrived at the prescribed time, and performed the work well. Overall, the service was great from these guys, and very speedy. Just in time for the spring rains.

I called an hour ago because some work that was done about a year ago started to leak. Because there was going to be more rain they were out within an hour covering where the leak was!! I was amazed and impressed!!

My roof shingles were cupping and I did not want to wait for problems to start. I'd been in the house ten years and didn't know exactly how old the roof was. I called Bone Dry because I have used them before for smaller repair jobs, with great results. In the past, they were they only ones who actually did a physical inspection - as opposed to a drive-by - before giving a bid. But a whole new roof is a big deal, so I did call another provider, but by the time they returned my call, I had already decided on Bone Dry. (No regrets there: if they were too busy or didn't have the courtesy to call me back, they didn't need my business.) Ron Russelburg of Bone Dry Roofing came out and did a thorough inspection - inside and out - of the roof and attic. He wrote up a bid with several options for my consideration, and provided samples of shingle styles/ colors. He took time to explain everything in detail. I decided to bring my R30 insulation up to R39; including the attached garage where there was previously no insulation. I chose to upgrade to architectural shingles, with ridge vent; ice & water dam shield; and replacement of "flat roof" over the patio. I signed the contract on a Friday, and the job was scheduled promptly. Attic insulation was done the following Wednesday; roofing materials were delivered Thursday; and the roof was torn off and completely replaced on Friday. Richie was the job site supervisor, and he was great at keeping me informed every step of the way. Kim in the office was very helpful with questions, payments, and emailing receipts. In the morning they call to let you know when they are on the way. They protect windows with plywood, cover landscaping with dropcloths, cover the top of AC unit with a wood & mesh shield. They take pictures and clean up as they go. Down on hands and knees picking up stray nails and debris from lawn/landscape rock. They hand nail, rather than using nail guns. When they discovered a bad piece of wood, they rang the doorbell, showed me a photo of it and explained they would have to replace it. The crew barely stopped for lunch - ten minutes - and then back on the job. Everyone was extremely polite and very hard working. Oh, and the vehicles were impeccable! I have to say, the dump truck was actually beautiful, and the red pickup trucks sparkled like they came off a showroom floor. Cleanup was excellent. What wasn't caught in the tarps was captured with shop vac, blower, or a special roller magnet for picking up metal & nails. They left the property as neat as they found it, if not neater. When the job was finished, with the crew still there, Brian from Bone Dry came out and did a final quality control inspection, walking the roof and the yard, checking everything out. They go the extra mile to be sure you are satisfied. From beginning to end I felt I was in good hands. Maybe you could find someone cheaper, but you get what you pay for. I prefer to invest in the best I can afford for my home. This is the last roof I will buy. As a retired single woman, it is important to me to feel secure about the people who work on my house, to be sure they are not taking advantage of me because of my age or gender, and to be confident that they are skilled, reliable and trustworthy. And that they will be around in the future to stand by their work, and be available for emergencies. With Bone Dry, I feel that all my needs were well taken care of. Dare I say, a spa roof experience?

All went well. Estimation was quick. Repair was quick. Even learned a bit about roofing.

Recent high winds blew off multiple roofing tiles from several areas of our roof. Bone Dry Roofing came out shortly after we called and inspected the damage. They efficiently and thoroughly assessed the work needed as well as the causes. We were not pressured into replacing our roof but were educated about the future of our roof. Within the next few days, the workmen returned as promised and not only replaced our roofing tiles, but repaired cracked vents. The cost was well BELOW our anticipated budget. We will definitely hire Bone Dry Roofing in three years, when our roof will need a complete replacement. We would enthusiastically reccomend their services to everyone.

We had evidence of a roof leak during the winter storms. Ron came out promptly for an inspection and discovered a leak around the vent stacks on our roof. This was an easy fix (as soon as the snow and ice melted enough for the guys to get on the roof safely). Richie and Curtis came out as soon as weather permitted and quickly and efficiently made the repair. Leak solved. Thank you Richie and Curtis! They were fast and quiet on the roof. However, Ron also reported a severe lack of insulation in our attic. (Have I ever stuck my head up in the attic space in 10 years?...um. NO) Woops! In some spots our insulation was below the joists. Ron took I-phone photos to show me the problem areas and accurately depict the solution. The best solution in our case was to blow in fiberglass insulation to bring the existing celulose to recommended levels. This part of the job was completed over one day in early March. Bone Dry office staff called to offer me a variety of days for the crews to complete the work. On my chosen day, Brian and Curtis showed up ready to go. They explained the process and went to work quickly and efficiently. They worked quietly in and outside of our home, being very courteous and professional. When it came time for the blow in from the garage, I didn't even know they were working. My built in vacuum makes more noise. They brought some "stuff" out of the attic space (left there by the previous owners) and even swept up my garage space very well when they were finished. Thank you Brian and Curtis!

Bone Dry was here on time, let me go on the roof with them to see what they were talking about and even came early one morning to inspect the roof with my insurance claims guy. All was professionally done.
