Very pleased with the work. I received bids from (3) different companies. The Richards rep was the only company that actually brought example shingles to our home to choose from. We chose Richards because of the bid price, the lack of employee turnover (all of the crew have been with Richards for at least (5) years) and the personal attention we were getting. The crew did an excellent job with the installation. Nice guys to have around and glad we got to know them all. Each night during the project, the roof was left completely covered with either new or old shingles and there was no chance that any rain would be a problem. The cleanup was meticulous and they left no footprint on the yard or landscaping. All Angie's List feedback we reviewed was very positive as well and this also influenced our choice. Glad we chose Richards!

I called the company and the person was really nice-i wanted to get quotes for gutters and roof ventilation. He was honest enough to tell us that the roof does not need ventilation since most of the attic is now converted into a room. I was amazed the he put honesty over money.

It was a pleasure to use Richards Roofing. The work was performed just a few days after I signed the contract. The was one minor snafu that was cleared up almost immediately. A weather vane was reinstalled on top of the new vent but something happened and the weather vane was leaning at an odd angle. They sent someone out to fix it and I'm completely satisfied with the service.

A good experience for me and a feeling that my best interests were being carried out. Professional approach to job, apparent knowledge of business. Highly recommended. All of the reviews on Angie's List were certainly true. They did an excellent job.

Overall the project was a success. Received estimate in a timely manner. Scheduling took some time but this was due to all of the rain which was happening. Did not receive any notice as to when someone would be out to install. They just showed up and started on the job. It took two days but they were very good about cleaning up after themselves on both days. We were unsure how to pay for the job until we received the invoice in the mail. Communication on some things could have been better and would have been appreciated. Job was done without any inconvenience to us at all. I would use Richad's again and would just make sure the communication was a little better.

From a layman's point of view it looks great. They had a guy out here for about 3 days, it was a difficult roof. Every time I called them they called me back (which is a biggie). They cleaned up everyday. I have a deli next door to me and they not only cleaned up in front of my home, they cleaned up in front of the deli. But the big thing is that they were responsive to my calls and questions. I can't verify that it's an excellent roof but it looks good. They were timely, professional and responsive to my questions. The guy who actually did the work kept in close touch with me.

A representative came out within two days and called me at work to tell me no repairs were necessary, but my gutters were clogged.

They were so busy it took them a long time to get around to us, but when they did, they were very professional and cleaned up after themselves.

When I called them in late January to report it leaking again (we'd had more heavy rain, windstorms and 1 or 2 ice storms since they'd re-caulked),I told them I was ready for new skylights. We discussed it and I was pleased with their proposal. As soon as weather permitted one of their men came and installed the new skylights. He did an excellent job, there was minimal mess inside, and when he left, everything was cleaned up, hauled away, etc. He'd carefully removed the necessary shingles to do the installation, and was able to re-use all of them, so no additional expense for replacing shingles was incurred. This was just done about a week or so ago, and we've only had one brief light rain since then...but no leaking so far! The design of these skylights looks much better than the old ones (flat glass instead of plastic bubble-tops). I'm very happy with the new skylights and with Richards Roofing at this point.

They were supposed to call before they came to do the work, but we never received the call. I also asked for a professional opinion of when I would need a new roof. I never heard anything from them. The quality of the work seems fine and they did the work as they indicated they would.

This was a very positive experience. They came when they said they would, found the problem, did the work, and charged me less than I expected.

The representative of the company came and looked around and told us that he did not believe that is was the roof. He then went into the attic and determined that the issue was with condensation from our pipes which vent from the bathrooms. He took me up there and showed me the wetness around the pipes and told us that he thought that the issue occurred during the ice storm when the vent panel froze over and the condensation could not escape. He told us that we could hire a plumber but probably the easiest thing to do was take plastic garbage bags and put them under where the condensation happens. He could have told us anything and we would have believed him as we know nothing about roofing. I love the customer service we received from this company and will definitely consider using them when we have an actual roofing need.

Company representatives were responsive and friendly, and suggested this solution to a water problem. The service technician was originally confused about the work order when he showed up at my house, so it was good that I was home to explain my expectations. Because the technician did not end up putting flashing under the bead board and siding of my one-car garage, the company reduced the invoice by $50, which was agreeable to me. The work solved the water problem so I'm happy.

Received bid very promptly. They picked up our unusual shingles while they were on a vacation in Michigan, which was very nice of them, but the majority of our work was to our flat roof and it took a fairly long time to get the work scheduled. They explained that the majority of their flat-roof work is commercial, so it was difficult to pull people off for this small job. (Fortunately another company had done an emergency patch so it wasn't leaking while we waited.) They were always pleasant and professional on the phone. Once the work was finally completed, we were certainly satisfied with the results. I have already recommended them to other people and would use them again, but would get a "finish date" on the contract.

Thorough assessment and estimate, problem solving of unexpected problems, well managed project including tolerating owner's hovering and questions,very experienced in all areas. Cleaned up and gave owner advice re: finishing/painting new fascia boards. Co-owner of company checked with homeowner about any concerns and timing issues. Overall pleasant and professional staff.

They were totally prompt and did an excellent job. There was good follow through.

I left a message with a woman to have them come out to give me a bid. I called a second time about 3 weeks later and she could not find any record of the first call, so I left another message and still never received a call back.

Roof looks terrific. Crew was very professional. Rich and his foreman kept us updated on all things. Definitely a great job!

The estimator arrived 3 days after my call; it took 2 weeks total to get a written quote. After I hand-delivered the signed quote, the work was scheduled for 2 weeks out from that date. No workers came on the scheduled day. I called and left a message; the work was re-scheduled for one more week out. No workers arrived on the second scheduled day. I called again, complaining, and the work was re-scheduled for a further two weeks out. The workers did not arrive at the scheduled time, I called Richards Roofing one last time, and they re-directed some other workers to my job that day. Once the work was begun, it was completed professionally, they cleaned up as they went. I was satisfied with the final result. They charged only the estimated price. I was told my scheduling problems were due to Richards having excess work. I feel that they prefer big roofing jobs to small "fix-it" jobs like mine - not due to anything they said, just based on my personal experience.

Well done. Would definitely hire again. Price was competitive with others with A rating on list.

I appreciate that they were responsive in coming out for the second time to find the source of the leak and fixing it for no charge. The initial work was completed while I was not at home. Since the initial repair was under the shingles, at my request they came out for a quick visit to show me what was done and answer my questions.

Very easy process. Bid was mailed to home and roofer came promptly to complete work.
