The service man they sent out was very courteous and explained what he was doing so if I chose to do it myself I would know how. I was very pleased with the service. Just as pleased as I have been with the original installation experience.
Description of Work: I had them come out to do a maintenance check up which I hadn't done since my garage door was installed about 8 years ago. The door was really getting noisy. The repairman was very courteous and checked out all moving parts and lubricated them. He explained the regular maintenance agreement they have and told me I could either have them come out next year or if I chose to do it myself that would be fine also.

He also checked out all other parts on the door and opener (preventative maintenance). He was an experienced technician (has been with the company for years). I would use this company again even though their charges seem to be somewhat higher than other companies.

+ -1 moreThe service technican was polite, knowledgeable and thorough in explaining why we needed to purchase new doors if we wanted auto lifts to work properly. The doors had given us problems over the past few years and after he explained, we completely understood how bad of a short cut the previous owner had done to rig the doors to auto openers. We were really happy with how thorough they were with our questions and concerns. We deposited $380 the first day to order the doors, and paid the remainder $780 after the work was completed. Since our garage is about 100 years old, the service tech was specific about requesting an experienced installer to perform the work (he even wrote ''NEED GOOD INSTALLER'' on our invoice!). We got excellent service and would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to repair or replace garage doors.
Description of Work: The Overhead door came out in response to our request for service on two old garage doors. Upon inspection, it was determined that both doors were incompatible with automatic lifts and had been improperly rigged to auto lift, causing strain and damage to existing doors. The gentleman who came out thoroughly explained why we needed new doors and why we needed to move the operators of both auto lifts for safety. They replaced both doors and reattached them to the existing lifts. They removed the old doors and left the area clear of debris.

The electricity in my neighborhood went out in the middle of the installation. The installers took the setback in stride and juggled their installation schedule to arrange coming back to complete the installation when the power was restored.
Description of Work: Overhead Door replaced the door on my garage. The price paid includes the cost of the door and installation.

THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER THEY ADVISED BUYING ENDED UP NOT FITTING IN MY GARAGE, SO THEY HAD TO SCHEDULE A SECOND APPOINTMENT TO INSTALL A DIFFERENT OPENER (DID NOT CHARGE EXTRA FOR THE NEW OPENER OR ADDITIONAL LABOR).

I SUPPOSE THEY SHOULD HAVE FIGURED THIS OUT IN ADVANCE, BUT THEY DID RETURN THE NEXT DAY AND CORRECT IT. OTHER OBSERVATION IS THEY DID NOT CLEAN UP FLOOR AND WHEN THEY FINISHED THERE WERE A NUMBER OF SCREWS AND NUTS LYING AROUND WHICH COULD HAVE DAMAGED TIRES. I HAD TO SWEEP UP IMMEDIATELY. THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS.

THE PERSON WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE SHOULD MAKE IT CLEAR WHETHER A SERVICE CHARGE WILL BE CHARGED FOR A VISIT. IT IS NOT CLEAR TO THOSE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE COMPANY RULES. THEIR ESTIMATE CAME IN ABOVE ANOTHER REPUTABLE COMPANY SO I DID NOT USE THEIR SERVICE.

THE JOB STILL ISN'T COMPLETE. I SPOKE TO STEVE MACE TODAY AND WE'VE AGREED THEY WILL COMPLETE THE JOB ON JUNE 30TH. I WILL SEND A FOLLOW UP REPORT.
Description of Work: MY HOME WAS BURGLARIZED 3/26/05. ON 3/28, I MET WITH OVERHEAD'S SALES REP TO ORDER A NEW FRONT DOOR. BECAUSE THE DOOR WAS A SPECIAL ORDER, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE A WEEK TO TEN DAYS TO BE FILLED. A WEEK LATER I CALLED ONLY TO FIND OUT THE DOOR HADN'T BEEN ORDERED BECAUSE I HADN'T GIVEN MONEY AS A DOWN-PAYMENT. THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED BY THE REP; I WOULDN'T HAVE LET HIM LEAVE WITHOUT PAYMENT, AS I NEEDED TO SECURE MY HOME ASAP. HE ALSO PUT THE WRONG ADDRESS ON THE ORDER FORM WHICH CAUSED BIG PROBLEMS FOR TWO INSTALLERS AND HE ORDERED THE WRONG KEY AND DOOR SIZED OPENINGS. THIS MEANT THE DOOR HAD TO BE REALIGNED ANOTHER DAY. THE DOOR WAS FINALLY INSTALLED & PAID FOR ON MAY 20 BUT I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE I HAD TO CAULK AROUND THE DOOR. THE ORIGINAL PRICE WAS REDUCED FROM $2500 TO $1500 WHICH I PAID NOT KNOWING THEY HAD KNOCKED A LARGE PIECE OF PLASTER OFF THE WALL BY THE DOOR. I CALLED TODAY AND ASKED THEM TO FINISH UP THE JOB AND THEY AGREED.

AT 8:00 AM I RECEIVED A CALL SAYING THAT HE'D BE OUT SHORTLY. 15 MINUTES LATER HE WAS THERE, SAW THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME. THE WORK WAS PROFESSIONALLY DONE AND HE EVEN WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO LUBRICATE THE OTHER PARTS AND HELP ME SET A CODE. I'D DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM!

THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT NEED ACCESS TO THE HOUSE TO DO THE ESTIMATE AND DID SO SIMPLY BY LOOKING IN THE WINDOWS. NO INTERIOR MEASUREMENTS WERE TAKEN AND THEY DID NOT EVALUATE THE INTERIOR CONDITIONS OF THE GARAGE (SOME OF WHICH COULD BE PROBLEMATIC FOR AN OLDER HOUSE).
