From the visit for the proposal to work, they were amazing and very very responsive! The staff was very professional and competent. They kept me informed during the project if there were any issues. We had one issue with some damage to another contractor's work and they had the work fixed without any hassle in a very timely manner. When rough in was complete, they called me to make sure everything was okay. After years of nightmare stories about plumbers, Maplewood has rewritten the book on customer service. I would recommend them to anyone! Lessons learned from the project -- Carefully plan the project, clearly describe the scope to the contractor, get a couple of bids and realize that the low bid may not be the best. Go with your feelings about the contractor based on the bid walk through. Remember integrity and professionalism trump low bid every time. Bottom line, Maplewood Plumbing, is a wonderful company to do business with. They realize the value of good customer service combined with professionalism is very important.

Like I mentioned previously, things went off without a hitch, and I would definitely use them again.

We called on a Saturday; Maplewood plumbing fit us in on Monday and worked swiftly and professionally. The Moen shower handle works better than it has in 5 years.

My second interaction with Maplewood Plumbing; I've been very impressed both times they've come out. They were recommended to me by my real estate agent, who spoke highly of their work. I explained to the receptionist who answered my call that I had to shut off the water to my entire house due to the failed saddle valve, and they were able to get someone out the same day, even though I called late morning. They said someone could be at my house sometime after 2:30 PM. Sure enough, Brad called at 2:30 to let me know he was on his way from the city and arrived within 25 minutes. I took him through the house, showed him the problems, and he quickly developed a solution. Instead of simply repairing the 1/4" hose line, he completely removed it and replaced it with a SS flexible line, added a water hammer arrestor, and completely removed the saddle valve and replaced it with a more reliable (and code compliant) multi-turn valve. The whole process took about 1.5 hours. I work with a lot of contractors across all trades in my day-to-day job, and while my knowldge of domestic plumbing is very limited, the traits of a good contractor in any trade are pretty easy to spot. There is a big difference between simply "fixing" a problem and making the proper repair. A good contractor is also perceptive to other possible problems beyond just the ones you point out; Brad noticed a water stain on my ceiling (which was an old leak) without prompting. He also provided some insightful advice on my dish washer and showed me how the plumbing could be improved when we bought a new unit in 2012. He did all of this work quickly and efficiently, while answering some general plumbing questions I had along the way. He also did a nice job cleaning up after having to drill through the sub-floor, and for good measure, even cleaned out the aerator in my kitchen faucet, which had gotten residue stuck in it from shutting off the water so many times in the past few days. I live in an old house, and some of the plumbing work that was done in the past by the previous homeowner is, let's just say, artistic in it's design and poor in its function. When I need more work done, Maplewood Plumbing is who I will be calling. Great work!

Appointment was set up for 9am. The plumber called earlier to ask if he could come out earlier, which was great! I showed him the issues with my old home and he went to work. He first drilled from my kitchen to the cellar for the water line and then installed it along with a shut off valve. He removed some older splits in the water line that were no longer in use and in general just cleaned it all up to look nice and neat. Next he removed the old shut off for our outside faucet that was stuck open and replaced it with a much better shut off and tried to fix the outside faucet the best he could (it's old and really just needs to be replaced - something we'll probably have done in the future). I was very happy will all the work done. There was some clean-up I had to do in the end but I'd rather do the clean up than pay $100 an hour for him to do it! He even recommended some more future work if we're planning on staying in our home a few more years. We'll probably have them do this as well. Very honest, very good work.

It went great. He was ahead of schedule and got here early. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. This was my second time with Maplewood Plumbing but not the last.

He was terrific, forthright, well-spoken, and very friendly. He was thorough and is still in contact regarding the missing part for our tub spout. Best experience I've ever had with a plumber!

Very positive experience. Will came out to provide an estimate. I called the office to set up a date to do the work. Brian did the work. It went exactly as I expected, and the workman cleaned up and we now have out filter. Maplewood doesn't sell the filters, I did my own research and purchased the one I thought would best meet our needs, with a little advice from Will. Brian explained the best way to change the filter cartridge and flush out the system. All in all, the work was excellent. I would recommend without reservation.

This was my first time using Maplewood Plumbing. Mine was a minor project but they were courteous, prompt, professional and did a quality job. I would not hesitate to call them again.

We called Maplewood plumbing and set up an appointment with Janice for an estimate on our day off which was Thursday May 26 at 9 a.m. Unfortunately unbeknownst to us her computer had problems and the plumber had shown up at 9a.m. the day before!! ( we don't live at this house). When we arrived on Thursday we saw his note and immediately called the office. Janice was very professional and apologized for the mix-up. She arranged for another plumber to come that afternoon. Brad was very nice. looked over everything and said the estimate would be e-mailed to us. The bid came on May 31st, very detailed and specific. We accepted the bid and set up Thursday, June 9th to have the repairs done. Brian arrived on time and completed all the work in about three hours. We were most impressed with how the confusion over the first appointment was handled. Janice was so nice and solved the problem right then. To me how a company responds when things don't go as planned is very revealing. The two employees we met at the house were both friendly and informative. They answered all our questions and explained exactly how they would correct the issues we had with our plumbing. We will not hesitate to use this company again !!!!!!!!

Overall a very positive experience. The women who answered the phones was very friendly and helpful. Both of the men that came out were very professional and polite. Work was performed as promised and when promised. We were only charged for one basic service visit at $95 We will definitely keep their number handy for any future plumbing needs.

I thought their services were good but they were a little expensive.

Outstanding. Everyone at this place is awesome. I used these guys at the end of last year for a project, and when it came to this job I just called and gave them the key to the home. I did not even bother being there as I was so confident in their work and people. (note that I have done a ton of home improvement work and I think this says a lot for me to be that impressed with a contractor).

From my first call to Janice to the time Will and I settled the bill, I was completely comfortable and confident in this company. Janice and I spoke several times early that morning with updates on what time I could expect to see someone and Will called before he was making his way to my house. When he arrived he assessed the project and got right to work, explaining what he needed to do as he went. Will also made recommendations about things I would need to keep an eye on. I like the fact the business is family owned and operated (since the mid 80's), licensed, bonded, and insured and the listing on Angies List helped me make the decision. I know now that if I have plumbing needs in the future, I won't hesitate to call and intend to pass on their name if I hear of someone who needs a good plumber.

They gave me a fair estimate better than another I had gotten. They scheduled the work quickly, sent over a great guy that did the work in record time! When he was finished he called and I came home to find NO MESS, not even from him knocking out part of a (plaster) wall! He did the work in significantly less time than estimated, and they knocked $400 off the estimate! I could not be more pleased with the people and work of Maplewood plumbing. When was the last time you got over a third of the estimated costs deducted once the work was finished? Highly recommended for any plumbing work, especially on older homes.

Company contacted me prior to the scheduled arrival time to let me know that the plumber was on his way. He showed up shortly therefater, about 45 minutes after the promised arrival time. Ron was very friendly and immediately began diagnosing the problem. Had both issues resolved in about 20 minutes and completed both repairs within 40 minutes. The total visit lasted about an hour and cost $89, net of a $20 Angie's List coupon. I was very pleased with both the price and the service level.

This was my second time contacting Maplewood Plumbing and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. I noticed a leak in the water line going to my water heater on a Wednesday - I was leaving the country for 2 weeks on Saturday morning. I called Mapelwood Plumbing. I spoke to Janice and explained the situation. They were already book solid on two major jobs but she said she'd try to work something out for me. She called me first thing Thursday to let me know she had someone who could come right away. Brad showed up about 10-15 minutes later. After looking at the problem he showed me exactly what the problem was and told me how he planned on fixing it. It seemed like no time later he was bringing his tools back upstairs and said he was finished. I couldn't believe how quickly the repair of done. I would like to say that on my first contact with this company there was a snafu with the scheduling which I wasn't happy about. But after getting a message from Janice and seeing her post on my original grading of their company, I had decided to give them another chance and I'm very happy I did. Things don't always go smoothly in life - but I respect someone who stands up and says -"it was my fault". I believe Janice went out of her way to help me out this time and I so appreciated it because I could then go on my vacation with this problem taken care of.

Great, not a glitch, they took care of everything.

The plumber came out on a snowy day. The repair was done very quickly. He told me to use the dishwasher and to call back the next day and let him know how everything worked. There was no problem. I was also able to use a $20 coupon from Angie's list which lowered the price to $78.00.

Excellent from start to finish. Janice, Ron, Will, and Brian - all were professional and truly cared about you and the quality of the work they were doing. I was beyond impressed.

We received great service. My calls were answered and returned promptly. The day of the service he was on time, very polite and knowledgable. He offered suggestions to make sure the new faucet continued to work well. He cleaned up and even answered a couple of questions concerning other plumbing issues. We really appreciated the quality of this company!

We had a toilet that was slow to flush and had 2 companies come in (Bob Raeker and Maplewood). Both said it was the toilet that needed replacing but that in our old (>75 yrs old) home the pipes downstream may or may not also be affected. Both companies told us to go to a discount store and buy a toilet to spare the labor cost on the shopping and the mark up cost, and they would come and install it. Both companies recommended purchase of a Kohler toilet. Both estimates were comparable. We bought the toilet and decided to go with Maplewood plumbing based on the Angie's list rating and the fact that they were local. We held our breath hoping we would not need all new pipes. They had a 9 am appointment and I got a call at 8:15 asking if they could come later at 10. I had a question about the toilet we bought and they answered my questions. Once she realized I had already purchased the toilet she asked if she could send someone EARLY because it was just an installation. I said sure (yeah!). Their guy came within the half hour, checked the toilet I bought to confirm it would work, checked the basement to evaluate the pipe situation and reassured me that even if there was a pipe issue because we had PVC replacement pipes it should be trivial to fix, and discussed up front the costs ($95 for first half hour and $100 an hour after that in 15 min increments plus parts). I told him that was exactly what I had read on Angies list and that I had a coupon from Angies list which he acknowledged. He removed and discarded the old toilet, checked the pipes (which were fine), and began the preparation for the new install. He removed all of the old wax, installed a new supply line (which required some drilling), set up the new toilet, cleaned the whole mess and was done in about 2 hours. My only complaint is that I could not sell him my kids who were driving me crazy home on Christmas break. He said he already had one of his own...

The plumber arrived on time and did a good job. An important aspect of replacing a wax ring on a toilet is to thoroughly clean off all the old wax and other gunk. He did an excellent job with this and scrubbed up the area underneath the toilet as well. Their prices were similar to other plumbers I contacted.
