+ 0 moreThey previously had provided an estimate for all three jobs, and worked to the estimate when I agreed to have them come perform the work. Brad (?) showed up promptly on the day of scheduled work. He was very patient with my dogs, who like to greet everyone who come in the door. He had all the necessary supplies with him to perform the work. He got my input on decisions, answered all my questions well and made sure I was satisfied with each job before moving on to the next. All for 50% of the cost of the other quote that I got.
Description of Work: Maplewood Plumbing performed three small jobs for me. They installed a utility sink faucet, added a drain pipe for my washing machine discharge and repaired a loose tub/shower faucet, handle and spigot.

Description of Work: Everyone at Maplewood Plumbing is professional and customer service oriented. They are always punctual and call before they arrive. They take whatever fixtures away with them that we have replaced. Will helped us resolve a particularly horrible experience we had with Soulard Plumbing. To say he went out of his way for us is a huge understatement. Maplewood Plumbing ran new water lines in our bathroom, installed a vanity, sink and faucets. They replaced the service valve to our main water supply because the water company broke it off and would not fix it. We also had a toilet and new tub drain installed by Maplewood Plumbing. Thank you to Will, Brian, Brad and Janice for everything you have done for us including stepping into the debacle that Soulard Plumbing refused to help with. You are the best plumbers in the world.

She offered an appointment the next day, but I was out of town, so she got me an appointment the day I returned. She told me the exact price and, when asked, told me it would be cheaper for me if I supplied my own new disposal and told me which one to buy and where. The appointment was for noon; at 11:05 a.m., Brad called my cell phone to ask if he could come earlier. He arrived around 11:25 and immediately told me my unit was broken and why. He then replaced it with the unit I had purchased, told me how to fix it if it stopped again, and took the old unit away with him. No muss, no fuss, very professional and quick. I could not be happier with the service provided on the phone and in person. I would recommend Maplewood Plumbing to anyone. And I got my $20 Angie's List discount! I paid $125 for the labor, and also paid for the new disposal.

+ -1 moreThe plumber came out to fix a leaky faucet, but there were faulty parts from the manufacturer of the faucet that didn't fit properly. I needed to get new parts, which took a few days (they were mailed). But when those parts didn't do the job, I needed Maplewood Plumbing to come out again after purchasing a new faucet. Maplewood Plumbing's contact person, Janice, was SO nice, patient, and understanding with a frustrated customer (me). She gave me a discount, and the owner of the company even came out the last time to make sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this company - their customer service is outstanding!
Description of Work: I thought the job would be fixing a leaky faucet, but it turned into Installation of a new kitchen faucet - through no fault of the plumber's.

They were very honest with us about there potentially being complications when working on a old house, something many people do not do and then surprise us with added cost. there were no issues and add-on costs.
Description of Work: They arranged for a company to come with a camera to discover prior to tearing up the floor, the best way for us to approach part of our main "stack" that was 100 year old cast iron and had disintegrated about one foot above the floor level. They broke up part of the floor in our furnace room and basement, replaced the pipe, relaid concrete and cleaned up. All work was done professionally by very friendly and helpful guys who looked out for our costs.

He made recommendations about the range of faucets which were likely to give best longevity and performance, and we went out and bought what we wanted. He was extremely professional, did great work and was very pleasant. I would heartily recommend Maplewood Plumbing for any plumbing work. They were great. The price was also very fair.
Description of Work: The plumber replaced the kitchen faucet, reconfigured improper plumbing and repaired two bathroom sink plungers.

Description of Work: Brad ran new water lines for our bathroom remodel. Because of issues with our new sink, that did not fit in the vanity we purchased he had to come back out to remove the vanity. + -1 moreWhen I went to take a shower that night, there was very little water pressure coming out of the shower head. The bathtub faucet had a lot of pressure. I told a friend at work what happened and she told me to turn the handle to the water in the basement all the way on. I did that and the pressure increased. I wish the plumber would have turned on the water after installing the washers to make sure everything was working properly.
Description of Work: The hot water in my bathtub was leaking constantly. The young man who came determined that the hot water handle needed a new washer. I asked him if it would be a good idea to replace the washer on the cold handle. He said it could need a new washer next week, next month or next year. I asked him to replace the washer on both the hot and cold handles. In retrospect, I wish I would have asked him to change the washer on the shower handle and wondered if a more experienced plumber would have checked this out for me. I am assuming all the washers are the same age.

+ -1 moreThe hot water faucet on my tub was not working. I was certain I needed a new valve. I wanted the work done right away so I called several plumbers but it was early afternoon on a Friday and no one was available until the following week, until I called Maplewood Plumbing. They said they could have someone come out in a couple of hours. They also told me up front how much they charged per hour and they even warned me that it could get kind of expensive if they did not have the right valve for my 85 year old house. As it turned out, they were able to arrive in about 45 minutes. Brian was my plumber and he was very professional, friendly and helpful. He also discovered that he could fix it quickly and inexpensively without replacing the valve. Now it works great and it was less than half what I expected to pay. Everyone I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend this company and will use them again!
Description of Work: The hot water faucet in my bath tub was just spinning around so you could not turn it on. Maplewood Plumbing fixed the faucet.

+ -1 moreThey dropped by to do an estimate very quickly (it turned out to be such a small job that it didn't really need an estimate). A few days later, they sent out a plumber named Brad. He exceeded my expectations significantly. He was very quick, and the cost came in slightly below my expectations. He also did a nice job keeping the basement clean, cleaning up afterwards, and was overall very professional. I have used a few plumbers from angie's list, but this is the first one that I will definitely use again.
Description of Work: There was an old sink in our basement that I wanted taken out. The plumbing was entangled with other plumbing, and I needed them to take out the sink plumbing and reroute the other stuff.

Description of Work: Appointment was booked for approximately 10:00 AM the day before. Installer called at 9:00 AM to let me know that it would be closer to 11:00 AM. He showed up at 10:30. Installer was very professional and polite. Toilet installed correctly. He cleaned up everything when he was done. He was very conscious to not bump into walls, etc. Final cost of work came in significantly less than what was quoted over the phone.

+ 0 moreWe discovered the filter pouring gallons of water into our basement about an hour after it had started. I turned off the water to the house and called Maplewood. Brian was here in 45 minutes. He cut out the damaged unit and patched some pipe together to allow continuous water flow in the pipes. Brian worked quickly and had us up and working less than 2 hours from when we first discovered the problem. When they heard that we didn't have water, they moved quickly to restore it.

Since the rental is in a different city then where I live often I have to have workers in there without supervision and I trust Maplewood and their staff to do that. For non emergency needs it can take a considerable amount of time to schedule one of their plumbers. They are very busy!
Description of Work: I own a rental unit in St. Louis and a tenant arrived to discover that the pipe behind the toilet had a leak. Maplewood was able to get out there they next morning and fix the problem before it caused major damage or inconvenience for my renters. Plumber installed new speedy stop and supply line for first floor toilet.

The plumber replaced the water pressure valve and tightened up the upstairs plumbing fixtures fixing the water leak. Before we had very low water flow and now the water flow is great. I can even water the lawn.

They were concerned about my expenses so recommended that I hire a carpenter to do the demolition to save money. + -1 moreI was so happy with Maplewood Plumbing today! I had been putting off getting this work done. I kept getting estimates from other companies for $500 to do it. I finally had to get it done today (my gutted basement bathroom was dripping and ruining the walls). Maplewood Plumbing was courteous and quick to come help me. The service man was very kind and worked diligently. And...imagine my surprise when I only had to pay a little more than $150.00! I even said, "That's it?". I provided the outdoor faucet to use for replacement, but imagine that still would've only added about $50.00 or so more to my bill. I will be using them in the future and happily have my new Maplewood Plumbing magnet on my refrigerator!

+ -1 moreGreat. They were professional, curteous and prompt. They didn't oversell the problem and were pretty close to the original estimate of $175.00. I am very pleased to find a plumbing company that is family-owned and located in the City of St. Louis. I think it is important to support City businesses as much as possible. I will definitely use Maplewood Plumbing again, and will probably do so in the near future.
Description of Work: We had a leak coming from the pipe under the bathroom sink and during the day, it leaked through the floor and into the basement. I researched Angie's List and decided to go with Maplewood Plumbing due to their high rating of satisfaction, the fact that they have done work in my neighborhood and that they are a business in the City of St. Louis. Will called me within the hour after I left a message and after I described what the problem was, he correctly surmised that it wasn't an emergency and told me to put a pan under the sink to collect the dripping water and that he would be by the next day to look at it and fix it if he had the right parts. He came over the next day and diagnosed the problem and since he didn't have the parts on him, we set up a mutually agreeable time for one of his co-workers to come by and fix the problem, which he did. He replaced the plastic pipe with a nice chrome pipe and sealed it into the wall. There is no longer a leak.

+ -1 moreTrickier than it I initially realized. When I hit the disposal button, it fell right through the counter. I thought the whole switch might need to be replaced. I spoke to Will on the phone about the problem and he figured out what was needed but wanted to stop by to look at it just to be sure. He needed to pick up several washers and trim them both above and below the counter to make sure the fit was snug, then he used silicon caulk and to make sure nothing would leak. He tested the switch and cleaned out the disposal while he was there. I am very pleased with Maplewood. It's the 4th time we've used their services and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Disposal switch is seated in the kitchen sink counter. It needed to be replaced or reseated.

+ -1 moreRon came out and gave us an estimate that was well within our budget and included moving the front faucet off our front porch to the side of the house so that we would not lose porch space with hose and such. We got a couple of other bids for the same work that were much higher. So, we called Maplewood Plumbing to set an appointment to do the work. They were just great! Work was done very professionally and we couldn't be happier. We will definitely call them for any other plumbing needs. Highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We wanted the main water shutoff replaced and the outside front water faucet fixed so it wouldn't continue to leak all over the front porch.

Everyone that has seen the work they did asks “wow, who did this plumbing, it looks incredible”. You don’t see pride in craft like this very often. Pricing was reasonable too, and Will was fantastic to work with. One of those companies that you feel completely confident in, very honest people.

+ 0 moreWe've used Maplewood Plumbing in the past to install a toilet, repair a broken gas pipe, and were extremely pleased with their responsiveness, price, and work. They recently came to clean out our basement drain that was backing up whenever we ran the washing machine. They came on time, fixed the problem, and informed us of some other plumbing issues that may be an issue in the future -- but that did not require any immediate attention. Once again, I was extremely pleased with their work. I find it especially important that they are punctual, as we usually have to take off from work to meet home repair companies at home during the work week.
