Jablan General Contracting

They were very punctual, quick, and professional. The work was well done, but I think the deal was a little misleading because the deal that they offered for a very small deck and I had to pay out of pocket cover my full deck.

It turned out really well. They came out and looked at the scope of work. They were back within two days with supplies and everything and they came without warning and finished the job and they were all done. We winded up spending more than the big deal amount. I think we spent $400 in addition. I think comparably speaking, they were very competitive in terms of pricing.

My experience went okay. The work was fair, however, they were not the most professional. I would not recommend this company to others.

Used lumber that was warped because Jablan bought it a month before starting work and left it sit out in the rain. Also,same with the cement, some of it had been damaged from rain but he used it anyway. I was not supervising him because I work and felt that the contractor should be minding quality control. Also, fence posts for gates were put in crooked, so gates do not close well. The "stain" he used was not adequate in coverage and he painted over the new hardware so I had to call him to fix that, and to fix the holes in the new deck flooring as well as nails that were sticking up out of the new flooring. He was unable to fix the gate fence posts adequately, and nailed a scrap of wood over the top of two of the fence posts to "fix" that problem. (Looks awful, and will need to be fixed by another carpenter.) Also, the cement looks terrible. Jablan told me that it was MY fault because the materials had sat out in the rain, even though Jablan was the one who bought the material(including the cement) early. Also, he did nothing in the permitting process. I had to do all the permits myself. I would not have paid the balance before the work was completed satisfactorily, but he insisted on payment late Saturday night when the work was done, before I had a chance to inspect everything in the light of day. When I called him to fix the problems above, he came out and partially repaired things, but did not fix the cement, left several warped and discolored fence boards, did not fix the gate fence posts satisfactorily, and yelled at me saying he had already spent too much time fixing things. He basically refused to finish fixing the unsatisfactory work. This was the worst experience with a contractor that I have ever had, and I strongly recommend that you do not hire him. He talks a out giving you a good deal, but it will cost me to fix his mistakes/poor workmanship/shoddy materials.

The Jablan worker reattached and re-enforced the fence section and showed me what steps he had taken to secure it to the post.. I will be calling the company in the Spring to do some work on other parts of the fence.

It may be the same offer going now; I don't remember. I just know I'm out the money. He informed me that it would be $1,000+ more because my deck has a railing. My deck is 12' x 24'; the price more than doubled to do the banister. Clear rip-off, bait & switch - most decks have railings; there is nothing special about mine.

It came out really well. They also cleaned and painted the basement door beneath the sundeck. It looks so much better now. They worked hard, didn't waste time, and we're very happy with the results.

The only complaint I have is I had to keep calling them to get them to look at the fence, I live in Ohio and the work was for rental property in Missouri. Once they got there and completed the work, it was beautiful.

The big deal that I purchased did not cover the work but they were willing to put that amount towards the overall cost of the project. They were able to finish within a few hours.

The owner was punctual in responding to my call, and all went as I had hoped. I give him top marks and would recommend him highly to anyone needing wooden fence repairs.

Company did not contact me in the stated time period promised once I bought the deal. I emailed them two times asking to be contacted before I heard back from them. There were some excuses about them being busy but then they showed up on the appointed day but only to survey the work as we needed some custom pieces to do the fence repair. They showed up on time to do the work and did a nice job with the gate repair and fixing some rotten/ broken wood fence pickets. I did get charged $150 for the extra work. I would use them for basic jobs in the future.

It worked out quite well. We had one little incident that I called and they came right back and took care of the situation so I was very pleased. I think they're very conscientious and I think they really do want to please the customer. They want to do a good job. I thought it was a very good deal.

First I want to say that Mr. Pilipovic is a very respectful, polite, fair and responsive businessman. The finished work I saw today when I got home is simply wonderful. The work is complete, no left over debris anywhere and a job very well done. I highly and strongly recommend this company and I personally will use them again.

They worked with us on our schedule, and communicated well. Service took place over 2 days, stripping first day and then staining the next trip. Deck looks great. They were very thorough in making sure all the railings and supports were done correctly.

Bad. I wanted to get my deck restored for $499, but the service provider wanted to charge me an additional $1500 to do the work.

We had purchased a "Big Deal" as advertised by Angie's List for $399 to have our deck repaired according to the terms of the ad. When the man arrived, he said it would be $850, which was the usual price and they would not honor the deal advertised on Angie's List. We felt very much like this was a classic "bait and switch" and did not have the work done.

It turned out just fine. I thought the deal was good and they did the work as explained in the post. They came out within two weeks after I purchased the deal. He offered actually to do a longer life paint for fifty more dollars which I actually accepted but he never came back to get the money so I assumed he would not do that. I would have actually liked that so I opted in for it but he said, "I'll get the money later" and then he never came back. He had somebody else to actually paint it versus himself. I did not pay anything extra beyond the big deal amount but he offered something that I would have considered. I knew there was some opportunity to do a better job with the power washing. There was some things between the boards that just got pointed over instead of being removed and then painted.

He was professional, explained his review of what was needed and made recommendations to improve the deck. He had the rail secured and holes filled without extra charge. He was on time with our appointment. I would recommend his service to others. Very Happy with the work he performed.

Sanel was very prompt in responding to my calls and promptly arrived at the scheduled time for providing a quote. He was very pleasant and professional. The determining factor for me was price, and I received another bid which was lower. I would not hesitate to call him in the future to bid additional projects.

Our experience with them was fine. They came and did it on time and pretty quickly. We were happy with what they did. We paid more than the $139 big deal, but we had them do some extra work and it was within reason. They were out a week or so after we called them. So, they were pretty prompt. The quality of the service was pretty good.

The contractor was prompt in responding to our request start the services. He came by to give us an estimate of additional cost and/or schedule a start time. When he arrived he met a general contractor that was here fixing other issues. He ask out general contractor how much we were paying for the work he was doing, very unprofessional. He then proceeded to give us an estimate of an additional $1400 which would have brought the power washing and deck staining to $1,800 total for a 500 square foot deck, including stairs and spindles. He also wanted to put supports udder the stairs stating it is no up to code. When I called him back he offered finish it all for an additional $1,000 bringing the total cost to $1,400. While the price was better we decided to have other people place a bid. We have had three others come five us a bid for the same work, all coming in about $400 - $600 cheaper. None of the contractors felt the stairs need any support and the deck is up to code. Given the comments by our general contractor and the fact that no other deck maintenance company feels the deck needs repair, we are uncomfortable with this company performing the services. Also note, the world not give a written estimate of the additional work which should have been billed at a discounted price per our buy it now coupon.

The contractor was pleasant and knowledgeable, but upon examination the deck will require much more extensive maintenance than I had anticipated. It just isn't in the budget this year. I will pursue this repair in the spring of 2014. No work was performed other than an estimate.

They were excellent. They very prompt in responding. They got the job done efficiently, no problem. They were very cordial. They responded when I called.
