Immediately after contacting Shamrock Concrete, we got a response from the salesman and were able to arrange for an estimate. He was friendly, courteous and worked with us on several occasions before we determined the ultimate scope of our project. The workmen were friendly, courteous, and worked diligently. Initially, our project did not have the outcome we visioned; the owner, our salesman, and the project manager were quick to respond. While some imperfections could not be altered, as concrete does not lend itself to change, the owner made effort to make the changes we requested to ensure our happiness with the project. We would certainly consider Shamrock Concrete for any future projects and have recommended them to others.

We had a pipe under the driveway that had to be worked around and had to use a preapproved list of vendors to perform the work when it was done previously. The driveway looked nice enough, but did not have the proper pitch at the front and was causing overflow rain to come in through the basement. I got a couple quotes prior to having the job done and Shamrock sent 2-3 men out to perform the job. They did a really nice job. The texture of the concrete is much nicer and I am very pleased.

I am satisfied with the bid they gave me. We are ready to sign a contract with them. If they operate in Charlotte I will also hire them to pour concrete on our driveway there too.

Shamrock was one of several companies I looked at to tear out and replace my concrete driveway. I felt I received a fair estimate and they honored the coupon I had from a local coupon magazine. Tim spent a good amount of time doing the estimate, answering my questions, explaining the various finishes and what to expect with replacing my driveway. When asked if they took credit cards, the response was yes, but I wasn't told about the 3% service fee associated with using credit compared to cash until I inquired about it when I scheduled my appointment to have the job done. It would have been nice to have been told this upfront. When I decided to go with Shamrock, Tim said they had about 20 jobs ahead of mine so the owner, Ryan, would call in 1-2 weeks to schedule my pour date. When I hadn't heard from him in over 3 weeks, I called Tim and he relayed my message to Ryan. After playing phone tag a few times, we connected and I got on the schedule for a new driveway. The Shamrock crew came one afternoon and did the tear-out and put in the base rock. They were prompt, friendly and courteous, and did a good job with the tear-out and preparation for the new driveway. The next morning, my new driveway was poured. The men were prompt and ready to work upon arrival. I felt comfortable with the foreman, Will, and his crew. They were a happy, friendly, hard-working bunch of guys who took pride in their work. Will was helpful and patient with all my questions about sealing the driveway. He also suggested a broom with the picture frame finish rather than the swirl that I had originally chosen. He said it would hold up better to the the elements of weather and normal wear and tear. My mailbox needed to be moved as I was widening my driveway to the edge of my house. They moved it for me, and even put in some concrete to secure the post. The concrete hadn't hardened enough when they demonstrated how secure it was though, and now it has a bit of give when I pull open the mailbox. I'll have to dig and add a little rock to the base to secure the mailbox post. I would have also like to have known about the work I'd have to do after the driveway was poured. Upon tear-out, there was about a 6-inch gap left on one side and about a 12-18 inch ditch left on the other for me to fill in with new dirt and plant new grass. Never having had a new driveway poured before, I just assumed the job would be complete when they finished pouring the driveway. When I spoke to others who have had new driveways or patios poured, they said they had experienced the same thing, so I guess this is the norm. Just would have been nice to anticipate had I known. My driveway looks FANTASTIC! I am pleased with the finish and the pride and professionalism with which the job was done. Great job, Shamrock!

They tore out and hauled off our the driveway and the sidewalk. They then poured a new drive way and walkway. We followed the directions for the curing period and stayed off of the driveway longer than instructed. That was about a month. They placed the driveway in 64 squares rather than the 12 rectangular pads that had previously been there. On the day of the pour we noticed along all of the seams of the 64 squares were crumbling cement. This was noticable immediatly. There was also a lot of slop of concrete on top of the driveway as well left to dry. There were 30 or 40 patches of the shoddy concrete areas that they had to come back and patch. The patches are very obvious, a different color and looks really bad. That was all during the first week from the original pour. Only 5 days after the pour cracking appeared at the joining of the sidewalk from the driveway. They should have put in an expansion joint there that they did not do. My husband pointed that out but they said they didn't need that. We'd had one there before so we were certain it needed to be included. We had called them back several times (maybe 40 times) and they only returned two calls. During the process they only returned 1 time to correct shoddy work. It is 10 months later and we still have a bad driveway. I saw this company working at another location and stopped to speak with one of their employees and requested that he pass a message to his boss to contact us right away. We have never recieved a reply or follow up from this company. The driveway is still a mess and we've had no proper or professional follow up from this company for a service that we paid a lot of money for.
