I contacted Vitt because of their good reviews and because of their special offer on Angie's List. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg just to turn my properly functioning system on. |The initial scheduling went well. The lady on the phone was very helpful and responsive. However, the service man was very late. I called in to see where he was, and I was told his truck broke down (he didn't notify me.) Then wen I finally got a hold of him an hour later, he had another story, said he was backed up in his work.... well ok. At least he showed up. |Moving forward, he was helpful in explaining how our system works and turned it on. He was there for a short time and then left. All seemed well, but.... a few hours later we heard a burst. Our water expansion tank had over filled and the release valve let water all over our basement floor. We had to call them back because at that time we did not know the reason for the problem. It seemed very suspicious that soon after Vitt did his "check up", we had problems that were very expensive to fix. Because it was very cold, we needed to have our boiler fixed promptly. They charged us hundreds of dollars to fix the problem that they didn't detect in the first place. Yes, it could be coincidence, but highly unlikely. On top of this they left a muddy mess in our basement. We would not recommend this company.

Deal indicated it was for heating/air conditioning check. The deal is actually ONLY for heating OR air conditioning check. This is a silly offer, and not how this type of service is typically performed in my experience. It is about $80 for a heating AND a/c check, so $49 made it sound attractive, until you learn it is ONLY for 1/2 the usual service.

We purchased two Big Deals from Vitt to clean and check our two properties HVAC systems. Victor Vitt did a good job of cleaning out and checking the equipment. He pointed out that I had an old but functional humidifier on my furnace and all it would need is a new filter and tune up to get it going again. On our other property his Son was also thorough and caught a shorted out circuit board, gave us a reasonable quote and fixed it a few weeks later. We were happy with all the services they provided. Also their receptionist Christy (I believe) was very good at answering my questions and getting all the info she needed from me. She advised me to buy the Big Deal coupon because it was a much better price for the HVAC clean and check. I appreciate her honesty, which saved me some money.

The service turned out good. I was happy with them.

I own a 4-family property, so I purchased 2 coupons for the tune-up service for 2 of the furnaces. The tech pointed out that the 1st furnace was not receiving enough power to even turn on. I had some electrical work done recently so I figured something was changed that caused the issue. He was kind enough to agree to come back to perform the service on that unit after the electrical issue had been resolved. The service on the 2nd furnace was more precautionary as I was not having any issues. Unfortunately, I was not able to stick around while he performed the work. The furnace is running without any problems, so I don't have any complaints.

The service man was polite and informative. Someone had previously put in the cleaner for the AC unit backwards so he fixed that, as well. Everything seems to be working great.

The technician arrived on time, performed the needed inspection and cleaning of the furnace elements, and that was that.

0I was disappointed that it couldn't be fixed but pleased that they were very honest about what they could and couldn't do for me. I would call on them again.

They were actually recommended by a friend. I had already had a disasterous experience with having my ducts cleaned and the whole house being contaminated with mold with someone else. Now my AC coil was leaking water inside the house. They replaced my furnace and the AC coil and the humidifier and cleared up the issues with the ductwork. I love my new 96% efficient furnace. They were totally responsive to any questions and just clearly knew what they were doing and were devoted to doing it right. I am planning to get the AC and furnace in my addition replaced by them in the next few months. I totally trust them. I may not have the dates and amounts exactly right but it is close.

Very good service. Called in the morning came out within 3 hours of call. Showed up 5 min. early. Got in found problem fixed and out in less than 45 min.

Each time, he was able to get me in promptly, arrived when he said he would, and did the job well. There was no drama, hidden costs, game playing, communication issues, or unprofessional behavior. Would definitely use him again.

I have a service contract for one of the gas furnace in my home with another heating and cooling company, but will be asking them for a refund for the balance of the contract so I'm able to enter one with Vitt for both my furnaces. They were able to come out to my home within two hours from my initial phone call and it took less than 20 minutes for them to diagnose and repair a problem that the other company couldn't resolve. Couldn't be happier with this experience!

I decided to use Vitt Heating & Air Conditioning Co Inc company based on word of mouth. He has done quite a bit of work for me.

I called Vitt furnace at about 9:30 a.m. on Monday Jan. 23 because my furnace had ceased to function. They were here with the hour and tested the entire furnace and blowers and found a fuse had blown. He asked me several questions to ascertain the possible cause. After replacing the fuse, he had me turn on the air conditioner to see if the changeover from heat to air conditioning could have caused a problem. All went well and then he checked the outside wires and for any other problem. The serviceman was polite, informative, friendly, and was finished quickly. I will call him in late spring to do the spring check up on my air conditioner.

I woke up Christmas morning to hear my furnance making a scary loud noise that wouldn't stop. I turned it off and called Vitt heating right away. Being that it was Christmas, I didn't want them to come out that day. I waited till the following Tuesday to schedule an appointment. They were there first thing in the morning. Was able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed right away. I will continue to use this company in the future. I believe they are fair in their pricing and very professional.

Of the 4 bids I got for this job, Vitt was the only company that didn't jerk me around and waste my time. Victor came out to do the bid, looked everything over and said "it will cost this much and here's why". Then he left. NO nonsense, NO trying to sell me a whole new furnace and air conditioner, NO asking me dumb questions, NO scheduling issues because he needed two guys and had to check their schedules, -he just simply did what I asked him to do. I called the office a few days later and booked the appointment. They showed up on time, worked very quickly, got the job done right, and cleaned up all the mess. Again....NO NONSENSE! This company exceeded my expectations in every way, and I feel that other HVAC companies could learn a lot from them. I will definitely be calling them again in the future when I need HVAC work done.

Got home on a Friday evening after work and found that my air conditioner wasn't working. Called and left a message after hours. Phone call was returned that evening, and repair scheduled for following morning. Company was prompt arriving when promised the next morning. I really thought I was going to have to replace my whole unit. Mr. Vitt was aware of my concern. He could have easily done the greedy thing and tell me that was the case. Instead he chose to have intergrity, and fixed the problem. I feel very blessed to have found such an outstanding company to deal with. Thank you Angie's list, and fellow members who take the time to submit reports.

Great. Vitt installed the entire AC and furnace over 10 years ago. Been working great all that time. They've also performed periodic maintenance on it. This time I needed the lines moved to accommodate a retaining wall I am planning. Vitt did a great job getting the lines moved and the end result looks professional and now I can proceed with my retaining wall plans.

Wanted to replace AC since it was old and leaking freon. Wanted to go with good unit and installer in the city. Vitt came out and installed unit. Once we started running the AC, it never cooled adequately. The coil would freeze up all the time and I had to thaw with hair dryer. I complained the airflow was not good. They asked how I knew and I stated I had used an airflow meter and showed a reduced airflow. They came out and suggested an additional air return. They installed a new return but the unit continued to freeze up. They said there was nothing more they could do. I had another contractor come out to do a check of our furnace before the fall. I explained the problem and he said it was the new coil. I called Trane District Office and talked to the manager. He and Vitt came out and examined the unit. He said the problem was the unit's design and Vitt's installation. The problem had to do with soldering too small a tube into too large a connection. Installers were instructed not to use too much heat when brazing, otherwise the coil could get damaged. I suppose they concluded too much heat was used. They replaced the coil and the unit worked very well.

Fixed furnance quick. Geat job very friendly. I would definately use them again.

I just had some work done by this company within the last week for another problem. When I went to turn on my furnace, it wouldn't work. Since I had such a good experience with this company, I decided to call them again. They were able to schedule me the next day, and promptly showed up on time. He was able to fix the problem within 10 to 15 minutes. I am very pleased with the work and the professionalism that I got.

Wonderful. Although it's been several years now, I still appreciate that he came out so promptly and worked so hard right before and after a holiday. He did an excellent job. I'm guessing on the price and dates, but I think that's approximately correct.

We are selling our house and our furnace and flu failed the Laclede Gas inspection. I contacted Vic Vitt on a Wednesday and made an appt for him to come out that Friday. He was on time, very pleasant, reviewed the report from Laclede. After cleaning the furnace and coming up with a plan for the flu (it was a bit more complicated than the norm) he told me he would have to come back with a partner to install it since it required getting on the roof. He said he could come Monday but when I showed concern with taking another day off work he said he would gladly come back the next day (Saturday) if that worked better. We woke up on Saturday morning and discovered our AC had quit working! I called Vic early that morning to give him the heads up and he added it to the list of things he needed to fix that day! He and his son (his partner) were very nice, on time and informative about what they were doing and why. They did a great job and always have (we've used them periodically over the last 11 years). Highly recommend.
