David was wonderful. He was professional, pleasant to talk to, and honest. Our units work now! When he discovered that we were low on coolant and our units were on their last leg, he didn't push. He took the time to explain the problem to me and all of our options. We chose to postpone replacing the units and seek service in the spring. Thanks to David's explanation, I felt confident that we made the best decision for our situation. We look forward to working with Vitt Heating & Air Conditioning again.

Excellent from the call to setup service to work performed to paying a fair price. I called Friday evening and Jeff showed up timely and professionally at 8:30am Saturday. He diagnosed and fixed the issue. He also performed an overall check on my a/c units and explained to me the issue, what he repaired and what we will look for over the coming months. I'm definitely singing up for their annual maintenance program which I asked about and there was zero sales pressure. Great company...great employee!

I called Vitt on a Saturday of Labor Day weekend because the AC was not blowing cool air. John came out within an hour of my call and was able to quickly diagnose the issue. He both troubleshot the issue and replaced the compressor within 30-45 minutes, and now the AC is working great.

I contacted Vitt when my previous contractor had diagnosed my air conditioner as condemned due to a "seized motor". They told me I needed to replace the motor. Then they told me that the motor was obsolete, that they could not find a replacement and so I would need to replace the whole unit at a cost of over $3200. The system was only 8 years old and it just seemed like something wasn't right. They had removed the motor with the stated intent of matching it to a new motor. I requested the motor back and called around to other HVAC contractors. That is when I happened upon Vitt Heating and Cooling. See below for details of my experience with Vitt. I first called Vitt on May 31,2016. I explained my situation to the office staff and they put me on the phone with Jeff Vitt. He listened to my concern and offered to search out a replacement motor if I would send him a picture of the tag from the motor. I did that and within an hour or so he called me to let me know he had found a possible replacement but that the contact person was out of the office on vacation. We would need to wait till next week to hear back from him. In the meantime, Jeff offered to test my current motor if I was able to get it to his shop. He was in my neighborhood so I brought it right over to him. He tested the motor for me that afternoon and it "fired right up". He was able to install it back in the housing and ultimately back in my air conditioner by June 4. The system is working fine. I have a lot of concerns with my previous contractor and the apparent discrepancy in what they told me and what Mr. Vitt found. I am addressing that in another format. But,I wanted to take this opportunity to give credit where credit is due. Jeff did what no other contractor did that morning when I was calling around for help( I called several). He listened to me and tried to solve my problem rather than trying to sell me something new. I was not a customer of theirs; he had never met me; I had not paid them a dime but he took the time to search out a replacement motor and test my current motor. Throughout my interactions with him, he was professional, kind, communicated in a way that someone who is not a technician would understand. And he fixed my problem!!. They have earned by lifelong loyalty with their sincere attention to my needs and the obvious competence and expertise in what they do. If you are reading this and looking for an HVAC contractor, you would make a wise choice in proceeding with the Vitt family. I am not alone in this opinion. As I shared my experience with others, the Vitt name was well known already as a high quality and trustworthy provider of this service.

I was more than impressed by the work of Vitt heating and air conditioning. They came out on the same day of my first phone call and correctly diagnosed the trouble with my air conditioning. They returned the very next day and properly installed the correct replacement part, along with fixing some minor details that greatly upgraded the performance of the air conditioner. I plan to use them as my contractor of first choice for all my future HVAC needs.

Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and great to deal with to figure out the best options for my situation, and then worked with me on pricing: He identified all the Ameren and other rebates I was eligible for, which together saved over $1K! They were *definitely* among the most knowledgeable and competitive cost-wise of the several bids I got. The install went great, where John and team did a big job in a difficult space (3rd floor attic) and were always friendly and professional. With a follow up to tweak the system with the cold weather switchover, they spent a lot of time at no cost to get the system working perfect. I now use them with with my rental properties too: I highly recommend Vitt, they're very responsive and stand behind their work like no other company I've seen, and go the extra mile to make sure everything is right.

Great service and sound advice when it comes to HVAC repairs. Have used Vitt also for A/C repairs and have no complaints. They are prepared to give options based on budget.

Appointment was at 430PM. Owner called to let us know he was running late due to another job commitment. He came in approximately at 6PM. He was in our house for 40~45 minutes. The boiler had some rust and he did not clean it. He answered all of my questions regarding some radiators not heating up. He added water to the system and I bled all the valves at each radiator. Overall, $120 for 40 minutes and without cleaning the boiler is very expensive. We hired this company because they are a local business in our area. Due to the high cost, we may not hire again but he seemed to be a very nice person.

It was fine. The price was fine. They were on time. I would probably not use them in the future. I would probably go with different company just because I would give another person a chance. They didn't overly impressed me but they didn't do anything horrible either.

We were amazed. I placed a call to Vitt Heating and Air at 9:30 and the A/C was fixed by 11:30. The guy who came was entirely professional and courteous. We were just absolutely floored on how quick and easy it was. We have no complaints at all.

We called Vitt Heating & Cooling late on Friday, Sept 4th & they were here within an hour! They said they would have to come back with a part the next day & that they had a few other customers to tend to also. We received a phone call Saturday morning at 8:30 saying they were headed to get the part needed & would be at our house right after. They showed up again within the hour. Both John & Jeff could not have been any more polite & professional. We highly recommend them! They are an example of what every family owned business should be!! We have already started telling others about them, including our Realtor!

We quoted three companies to replace our old HVAC system. I asked two companies that I knew, or got referrals on, and I needed a third to round out my quoting process. I called Vitt based on the good Angie's List reviews I read, not knowing anything about them other than they looked good on Angie's List. Jeff Vitt came out and we talked about what I wanted and needed to improve our A/C needs and also reduce our energy bills . He recommended a system that was more efficient than the other companies suggested systems, and the equipment he suggested was rated higher in consumer reports than the other company's suggested equipment as well. PLUS, his pricing was better which made the choice a no-brainer for me. The installation was performed on time and done better than I hoped. For this large purchase on which I did a lot of homework, Vitt was excellent. I was a little nervous never having used them before, but I am very pleased with the service, knowledge, performance and overall value I received from them. Don't be swayed by the big name companies in town. These guys know their stuff and do a great job at a great price. I highly recommend them for any HVAC needs. ,

The cleaning and checking of the air conditioners went well. The the new thermostat was not installed properly and needed to be checked. The technician did not provide me with good service and after he left, the thermostat was still not working and the air conditioner would not work. I had to call to arrange a second appointment. I was not satisfied with having to call the technician back to properly install the thermostat which consisted of a loose wire.

Fantastic! We couldn't have asked for better service. I called the office and was greeted professionally. I asked questions. They were answered with confidence and an upbeat attitude. I knew our furnace needed to be cleaned - it has probably been two years since our last service call, and we also had a problem with the pilot light staying lit. The temperature in our house was dropping quickly. The lady who answered the phone (I wish I could remember her name - she was so nice) assured me that if I bought the Clean and Check for $69 the service person would also trouble shoot why the furnace wasn't working properly and fix it while he was there - with no additional service call. She also said that any additional work would be billed by the minute. Sold! Then the nice lady made calls to see if any of the service people could get to our house the same day. Success! One was there within the hour. He cleaned our furnace and fixed the pilot light at the same time. He stayed for a little while to make sure the furnace was kicking on when it was supposed to. Problem fixed and the house started getting warmer, especially helpful when the temperature outside was 25 degrees. I felt that this company was very service oriented and I would recommend them to everyone. I plan on calling them back in the summer to clean and check our A/C or if and when we have problems with our HVAC.

Vitt Heating & Air Conditioning were very responsive and flexible in scheduling the service call. He was on time, very nice and fully explained everything that was involved in the service. I have no complaints and would gladly use their services again.

I contacted 6 contractors for bids on this work, which was long overdue. Our furnace was 43 years old and we have not had central air for 27years. The differences in price and size of equipment varied greatly among these contractors. Vitt Heating and Air Conditioning was a random choice. I knew they were in my neighborhood and had to be familiar with older south St. Louis homes. The owner Vic, came to the house to look and quote the work himself. Everybody else sent sales people, so this spoke volumes to me. Vitt was not the least expensive nor were they the most expensive, but after meeting with Vic, it seemed like he was very confident in his company's ability to get the work done. Let me say that in my own eyes, this was a monumental task considering the age and condition of the furnace and ductwork in particular. We needed to delay the work a few weeks to accommodate our schedules which seemed to be no problem. I had more questions in the interim and Vic was able to stop by and answer them for me which made me feel secure in my choice. When Vic arrived with one of his workers, they proceeded to take out the old furnace and ductwork on day one, and measure for the ductwork. They arrived on the second day in just after lunch because they had to fabricate the ductwork before coming over. They worked all afternoon on day two, and all day on the third day. There was a couple hours of work left to do on Saturday, which was really no big deal to us, because we did not want to rush them. I expressed to Vic while they were still working that I was impressed with what I was seeing and was thankful that I had picked him to do the work. He and his helpers were professional in every way as they went about their work. They took all cardboard boxes that the equipment came in and disposed of them off sight. I had asked them to leave the old furnace and ductwork in the yard for my neighbor which they did. They did an excellent job of cleanup, to the point you couldn't tell they had been there except for the new equipment. My wife and I are both extremely happy and would recommend them to anybody at any time!

We had another company come out to quote adding a "C" wire and AC tune up. After they took our thermostat down and reviewed the current wire setup, our AC no longer worked. Vitt came out the next day, repaired our wiring and installed a new wifi programmable thermostat! It turns out we already had enough wires ran :) We will definitely call them back out to get that AC tune up that did not work out with the first company!

Vitt was very prompt with all communications prior to the service date. I liked how they used email to communicate avalible service dates and times as well. I had them come out to clean a filthy furnace that I knew needed some work. They did an excellent job. They showed up on time and did the service as promised. They were very nice to talk to and ask questions.

It went well. The men are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and thorough. We do not know yet if these units are more efficient than the ones we had . We bought top of the line and expect the best.
