This is an illegitimate/inaccurate review. Honestly, it is not surprising that this homeowner would write a fabricated/illegitimate review about my family's business, as she & her husband used our expert construction experience/knowledge, good nature, and hard work to collect a cash settlement from her insurance carrier, ONLY to call us & say that they've "hired another contractor". Of course that call was made weeks after they had already promised our company the contract to complete the job (verbally, in writing, and worst off - with a handshake) . Mr Customer originally CALLED US in response from one of our local advertisements. We are virtually neighbors, as their home is actually located just a few minutes from our office. We offer and conduct FREE INSPECTIONS, with NO OBLIGATION, to homeowners in targeted areas that have been affected by damaging weather. So, Mr Customer stated that he & his wife would like to have one our representatives come out to give them their free inspection. Perfect. After providing Mr Homeowner the detailed results of the damage inspection, our company rep was invited INTO their home to discuss what can be done to repair these damages. A 3-way conference call was made at their dining room table, and Mr Customer, Mrs Customer, & our rep were all in agreement as to what the next steps were to be in moving forward with getting the work complete. Mr Customer filed an insurance claim for the damages. our agreement was simple, we vowed to come back to meet with their insurance adjuster, show him all of our findings, and when/if the insurance company agreed to repair these damages, we would be awarded the contract. So our rep asked Mr Customer to agree & sign an agreement/authorization to interact with their insurance carrier, Mr Customer happily agreed & signed, they shook hands, and everyone was happy. The Saturday before father's day, we received notice from Mr & Mrs Customer that their insurance adjuster had just showed up, & they asked if we could come over right away. Our company rep handling their project, on his day off (on vacation might I add), hurried over to their house & spent more than half the day with Mr Customer, Mrs Customer, & Mr Adjuster. The adjuster knew our company as reputable and professional from prior claims/dealings, he agreed & acknowledged everything we had previously identified as storm damage as being "covered losses" (New Roof, New Siding, New Gutters, Asbestos Abatement for the existing asbestos roof) and an adjustment summary accompanied by a disbursement check was to be mailed out to the homeowners immediately - so the repair work could begin right away. Now everyone was smiling, our company rep shook hands with Mr Adjuster, Mr Customer, & Mrs Customer, and everyone went back to enjoying their father's day weekend. The following Thursday we received confirmation from Mr Customer that the adjustment summary & check had arrived, and he verified our email address so that he could send over the documents via email. Sounds good. Over the weekend we (myself & the manager of our asbestos abatement division) visited the job-site/house to go over details (amongst ourselves), scheduling, collect photo documentation, etc.. We didn't even knock on the door as it was a weekend and didn't want to bother them. So, the next Monday we attempted a follow up with Mr Customer to go over final job details, and left a message on their machine when there was no answer. Later that evening we received a phone call from a very disgruntled Mrs Customer. THIS IS WHERE WE REALIZED THERE WERE ULTERIOR MOTIVES. Mrs Customer was now adamant that this was "her house" & "her policy" and that she had never made any agreement with us and so forth. HUH? FWEH! I was just about to order materials for their job,. Glad I didn't! This is all I can come up with as to what would make such a great working relationship go to such crap so quickly: On the Thursday that the adjustment summary & check showed up in the mail, Mrs Customer came home from work, opened her mail and was astonished to find a $22,000 check made payable to Mrs Customer, and Mrs Customer ONLY. At that exact moment, all agreements, contracts, consent forms, handshakes, hugs, meant ---> you guessed it, nothing. I am the current owner/operator of my family's business, and I consider myself to be quite a reasonable person. I would never force someone to do business with us that didn't want to proceed with what they thought was not right for them, contract or not. I was raised to be polite, to take pride in what I do, and to always treat others as I would like them to in turn treat me. I am also very understanding to the element of variable change. Mr & Mrs Customer made a conscious decision not to use their insurance funds to repair their storm damaged home, they made a decision to do what was best for them & their family. I do not blame them at all for that. $22,000 is a lot of money, and they had no idea they were to receive that large of a settlement, asbestos work is very dangerous & very costly. What I don't understand, is why Mrs Customer would post such an inaccurate and ill intended review about what transpired between us. I suppose that she has to make herself believe that she is mad at us for one reason or another to justify to herself (& to the others around her) that it is okay to take advantage of the good hearted people that have bent over backwards to help her & her husband so much. To this day, July 25th, 2014, we have never even requested a penny from them. NOT EVEN A PENNY! After all, they are still our neighbors & we wish nothing but the best for them & their family. NOTE: earlier this week, the company rep that was previously working with/for Mr & Mrs Customer received an apologetic phone call from Mr Customer. AND, to this date, no repair work has been done to their home, as expected.
