Archway Clean Sweep

They did complete the work and it was done to our satisfaction.

I cannot recall the price but it was very reasonable. They were on time and did a great job with the sweep and minor repair. They were quick and he gave some suggestions. I would use them again and recommend these guys.

They were fine. He gave me bids on other stuff and it was way expensive. I think that was his way of getting in and then give bids on other stuff that he thought you needed, but the other stuff was way too expensive. They did fine. I would use them again if it was $100.

I bought a Chimney Sweep offer from Angie's list. After waiting couple weeks to hear from the Chimney Sweep company, I had to call them to schedule the sweep. The gentlemen who arrived were professional mostly. I got some additional repairs done that they mentioned. Being a new home owner, I am not sure if the price paid for the repairs was fair price and if the repairs were necessary.

The workers were prompt and very professional.

We never heard back from this vendor have purchasing the coupon and selecting our preferences for work dates. We had paid money to Angie's List. We are very disappointed - this is the second time using Angie's List and we have had success 0 times.

Terrible. Cleaner hit a snag while pushing his brush through and suspected that my vent tube came apart. He requested to start demoing drywall, and in the end I sent him on his way with repair not done and a mess of drywall in my garage. I had to clean it out myself the next day. Tube did not come apart as suspected.

Well, we were not as lucky as Angela (another reviewer) was, as Archway Clean Sweep would not return her call. They did return our call and charged us Eight Hundred Fifty dollars ($ 850.00) for a Chimney Cap. We were happy with the Chimney Cap until the first good wind blew it off onto the roof. At that point we offered to Anchor the cap on to the chimney and the gentleman at Archway clean sweep begged us not to do that. He said that he would be out the next day to secure it back to the chimney and 3 days later he did show up and secured the cap to the chimney, assuring us that it would not blow off again. About 2 Weeks after that we noticed that the Chimney Cap again was loose on the chimney and called archway clean sweep right away. They called back and said that they would be out the next day. 4 days later after Archway Clean Sweep had not come out and not called, another wind picked up the chimney cap and blew it off the roof, this time onto the ground. This was not good for the Chimney Cap. Archway Clean Sweep offered to make us a new one and charge full price again, we declined, we explained to them that this had already occurred and that they guaranteed that it would not blow off again. As well as explaining to them that if they had come out when called it would not have blown off anyway. That's when they started talking about a tornado. I don't remember hearing about a tornado on the news, I don't remember seeing a tornado, I don't remember hearing anybody else talking about a tornado. So my only conclusion is that if you don't want to stand behind your work you call it a tornado. I find biggest regret in posting this review is the fact that I must give them one star in order to post, they clearly deserve no star. Save yourself the time aggravation and money and call somebody else or just wrap up screen around the chimney and put a wire tie around it, even that would be better than the best that Archway Clean Sweep has to offer. At least that would not kill somebody when it falls off the roof.

Went well, repaired chimney cap as well as sweep.

Fine service, but the company did not follow-up on questions I had after the service was rendered. Three phone messages were not returned.

Archway Clean Sweep was on-time and performed all the work we purchased on the special, swept the 2nd fireplace and completed internal sealing/caulking and external stack work, cleaning and caulking. Because of the time elapsed since the last time we had our chimneys swept, some work needed to be done inside and outside that was an additional amount. They needed to come back a second time to remove algae, etc. from the chimney and caulk it. That happened a few days after the initially sweeping and internal/external work. The dryer vent inspection was fine and no cleaning was needed. The gentlemen were courteous, explained what needed to be done and why. They also took before and after pictures to show us what needed to be done and the visible results after the work was completed. They ensured they didn't track into the house. All areas were clean when they completed their work.

Promptness, I wouldn’t give them but one, on time – one. Now as far as their work performance, it was no problem. The workers were great. It took 2 hours.

They suggested we change our dryer vent setup because the line was too long. They said we should change the system to vent into a small plastic perforated bucket filled with windshield washer fluid. We were reluctant to go that route, but decided they should clean the original vent pipe and leave it in place in case we did not like the plastic bucket option. They came back with the small plastic bucket from Ace and punched holes in it with a screwdriver. After a week of use, our clothes were not dryng properly in the dryer. The holes in the bucket were way too small and trapped air. Did not work as they promised. So we changed it back to what we had and everything worked fine.

Archway came, did the inspection, cleaned out the chimney, and of course they recommended to re grout the inside of the fireplace. They also recommended to install a new cap on the chimney and apply some sort of concrete covering sort of stuff on the top of the chimney to protect it. I'm not particularly surprised they recommended some new work to be done due to the age of the fireplace and chimney. I was surprised how reasonably priced the additional recommendations were. Usually when you get a contractor on site and they are inspecting things and making new recommendations, you might feel like you are getting played. But I feel like $600 is a small price to pay for the feeling of confidence that the fireplace is safe to use. They were in and out all in the same day, even with the additional work. They paid great attention to protecting the living room from the chimney sweeping dust.

Met with the SP and they told me that I didn't have a vented fireplace but a gas fireplace and therefore they couldn't provide their service for the type of unit.

I scheduled an appointment when purchasing and then never received a confirmation that Archway would show up so I called them. I left a voicemail and received a return voicemail saying they had no availability on the days I selected and would have to reschedule. I returned that call and left another message, but never received a return call. Would not recommend them.

It was very good, excellent. I didn't have to pay any more. They called and then they were here on time. The workers were fine. It took about an hour for the work to be completed.

When I purchased the package through Angie's List they did not contact me for several weeks. I had to call them twice before I received a response. However, once scheduled they were punctual and completed all the necessary work.

He was punctual and pleasant to work with. I would hire them again.

They cleaned and recommended $600 in additional work. While we've declined repairs at this time, having a chimney that had never been professionally cleaned and only needing $600 I thought was pretty good. They did not try to upsell unnecessary services. The rep was very professional.

He didn't show up or answer/return any calls.
