Window World of Springfield Inc

Ordered 26 windows in March 2021. Twenty-three of the windows were installed in December of 2021. Most of these were not installed/manufactured correctly. The windows were very hard to open, and the weather strip kept sliding out of position. The final 3 windows were installed in August of 2022 (17 months after they were ordered). The second installer (*****) told me the reason the windows couldn't be opened was that the first installer didn't install the windows correctly. So, fast forward to December 6, 2022, when I met with *****, one of the owners from Omaha, NE. Thought I was really getting somewhere. He inspected the windows and acknowledged the deficiencies. Before he left, he said he would get back to me that afternoon with an offer of compensation for one of the windows that was damaged prior to installation. Still waiting to hear from him. I guess he lost my phone number and email. I'm sure he'll find it when it comes time to send a bill. Overall, my experience with Window World of Springfield, MO has been less than acceptable. Their communication is poor, and they don't follow through with their promises. During a recent winter storm, I was amazed at the volume of air that was blowing through the windows. I sent videos of the issues to the company but got no response. Unfortunately, I've become accustomed to "no response". I would advise everyone to be cautious when dealing with Window World. Their product is questionable, installation is iffy, and customer service is non-existent.

In the first waive we had them replace 4 large windows; this went as scheduled so we ordered 5 more windows. The second set of windows was not made by the same manufacturer and the installers were not the same guys. The second set of installers were not as knowledgeable as the first and they did not wrap the windows properly. They broke one of the old windows when removing it and did not clean up the glass. Also, one window did not fit properly. We called several times and were told they would make it right, after a call to them insisting they come out to fix the wrap/insulation around the windows, they sent out the first installer who had to rework the second set of windows and add the spray insulation that was left off. We still have one window screen that they promised to replace because it was bent when installed. The quality of the window screens is very poor, I have already had to replace two screens due to them being so flimsy. I understand the owner of this franchise left without warning, but even when we called the Window World headquarters, they did not return our calls.

We first visited the showroom and were very impressed with the product. We were assured that the $189 or $187 price per window that was being offerred included installation and the product we were being shown. They also had shutters and doors and we said we were interested in those also. The person who came to do our estimate was the ownder's son. He came very unprepared. When we asked about shutters, he said he didn't have that information on him but he would call us back with it. We asked about replacing our back door and he said he didn't have that information on him either and he would call us back with it. He gives us a brochure on the windows that says to ask about shutters and doors but then comes unprepared to answer those questions. He quickly told us that the advertised price doesn't cover the type of installation we would need because we had old aluminum windows. We thought we would be looking at $1200 but the price quickly escalated to $2100.00 because of the added installation costs. We asked if they offered a discount because we were on Angie's list. He said he would need to go outside and call his dad to find out. But he said they didn't even offer discounts for Seniors (which we are) so he didn't think so. He came back in and said his dad said no. I then asked if they provided references so we could go around and see some of the work they had done. He said he would contact us with references. He didn't go around and look at the windows or take any measurements. He never left the couch except to call his dad. He never did call us back with any of the information we had asked for concerning shutters, doors and references. A person at work happened to be using them at the same time and had a bad experience also. Since we didn't even get the information we asked for and felt they were misrepresenting themselves with their advertising regarding the cost, we chose not to go with them and wouldn't recommend them to someone else.

The man who gave us the bid was very professional and thorough. We were told the order would be in in 6-8 weeks. Well, it wasn't. The shipment got lost and delayed for 3 more weeks. On top of that, we had to pay over 1000.00 extra because the old windows had lead paint and the installers were to wear suits and masks. They didn't, but we still had to pay. I must say the guys that take the order and the installers were great, but the management is horrible. For two weeks we couldn't even talk to anyone in the office that had access to the program to find out when our windows would arrive and be installed. We will not use this company again, nor will I recommend them like I use to.

I used them because of guarantee. They were very thorough and explained very well what the product was and what their long-term guarantee was. Guarantee was probably one of the key factors why I used them. They were not the cheapest, but coupled with their guarantee, it was well worth it. I would definitely use them in the future.

It’s a nationwide company. The person who came to talk to me about the windows was very patient because I ask hundreds of questions when I’m getting something like that done. I appreciated him being so patient and answering my questions thoroughly. He wasn’t pushy either which I appreciated. The drawback of the company was partly because of the coldest and the windiest day of the entire year that year. It wasn’t winter yet, but it had dropped down to below 30 and there were 2 guys who came out to do the installation. I wasn’t most pleased with the installation and the way they cleaned up afterwards. I also think to an extent it was because of the weather. I gave them a little bit of a break because it was so cold. Interestingly, I only had some of my windows done and I don’t like pushy sales people. It’s been 2 years and no one has ever contacted me to know if I’m ready to do the rest of my windows because I had indicated that it was something that I was going to be doing at different times. I would not use them again because I’m going to do some more checking before I just jump in and call them back.
