About two years ago, we replaced our south-facing front door with a new, simulated wood-grain fiberglass door, hoping the expensive new door would stand up to the demands of a south-facing location. Unfortunately, the person who installed the new fiberglass door did not stain and seal it properly, so within a year, the new door was peeling and the stain was bleaching off. Tony Brandenburg was called in by the original construction company to undo the damage done by the subcontractor who stained and sealed the door when it was installed. It was immediately obvious that Tony knows his stuff! He visited our house to assess the situation and spent quite some time figuring out how best to fix the door while at the same time making sure the job would cause the least amount of disruption to our lives. Tony then spent several days carefully and thoroughly removing what remained of the original stain and preparing the door for a new, higher quality stain. He met with us repeatedly to check on stain colors and listened attentively to our concerns regarding colors and durability this second time around. Then, once the work started, he worked long days so that our front door would not be open / unlocked one minute longer than necessary. Needless-to-say, the stain made the door "pop" -- and the door FINALLY looked like the picture of the wood-like door we wanted. Then, Tony used a varnish suited to the stain, door, and the elements, and he told us we should not need to seal the door again for several years. He cleaned the stain off the window glass with razor blades and the whole thing -- door and side lights -- were stunning and like-new when he finished. Already at our first consultation regarding how to fix the door, Tony struck me immediately as a knowledgeable craftsman who takes pride in his work, wants to get it right the first time, and listens closely to his customers. He is polite, honest, responsible, and clean. He left the outside and inside of our house at least as clean as he found it every day. He never left his materials lying around from one day's work to the next. Our only regret is that Tony wasn't hired to put the original stain and sealer on the door two years ago! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.
