I was so excited to be able to finally purchase new furniture, in full and find exactly what I wanted end of Aug. Price matched. Great in store service. Feeling top of the world. Well after I paid, the excitement quickly ended. My dates for furniture kept changing and the only way I found out was if I called. The lack of communication through Ashley is top notch. Not only do they not call, they don't email or text. If you live a life of mystery and wonder, this is the place for you. Fast forward a minimum of 4 calls to their customer care plus 3 fb messenger contacts with the Springfield store directly and I still have no answers except another change in dates. Although they apologized for the lack of communication they still did not reach out when dates would change. I was over it so I went to the store on Sat to cancel. My sales guy asked "What can I do? Discount? please wait for me to look into it Monday and I will call you". Ok. give it a shot. I really wanted THIS furniture. Guess what? After all the communication complaints no call on Monday. Grrr. Left VM on Tuesday and asked for call by end of day. Nada. Nothing. Fine. I have now canceled my order with a full refund. It's sad really. I'll never shop there again. It's not the delays. It's the lack of communication. No one gives answers. All of this could have been resolved by letting a customer know of delays along the way instead of making me chase it for 5 mos. Worst customer service from the store and the customer service as well as manufacturer. All blaming each other. Good luck to all that ordered. I hope my cancelation moved someone up in their order dates but don't hold your breath.

My husband and I purchased about $6,000 of Ashley furniture from the store in Springfield, Mo. While at the store we knew we wanted to purchase bedroom furniture for our bedroom, and were thinking about purchasing a mattress for a guest bedroom that was empty. After we choose a bedroom set, we went with the salesman to look at mattresses. We found one that we liked, however we thought it was a little overpriced and went back and forth on if we were going to buy it. We asked the salesman if everything we needed came with it, he said yes. Then my husband asked him specifically, "so we get the box spring, mattress and the metal bed frame?" He said "Yes, the bed frame too." So after a little more consideration we decided to purchase the mattress too. After the furniture was delivered, we realized our salesman lied to us in order for us to buy the mattress. He told us the bed frame came with it and when they delivered it, no bed frame! We called the store and were told we would have to pay an additional $70 for a basic metal bed frame! We would not have bought the mattress if we knew it was going to be an extra $70. After replaying the scene in my mind, I realized the salesman just wanted to make a sale, and since we were hesitant on buying the mattress, of course we wouldn't have bought it if he had told us it would be an extra $70 for the frame! We asked that they either keep their promise and give us our bed frame or come get the bed. We talked to multiple people at the Springfield store and they told us, sorry all sales are final and there is nothing we can do. They did offer us the bed frame at ½ price, however, I find that unacceptable that we should have to pay at all for something that was promised to us. At this point, it isn?t about the money, it?s about the principle that we were ?tricked? into buying something that we would not have bought had we known all the information at the time. The two ?managers? I spoke with from the Springfield store were very rude to me, and wouldn?t give me the owner?s name when I asked stating ?he wouldn?t do anything more than I can do, so you don?t need his name.? I can?t believe a company would treat customers who made, what I consider a significant furniture purchase, so poorly. I have told the people from the Springfield store that I will never shop there again because of the way they have treated me, and I will not hesitate to tell everyone I know the same. They basically told me they didn?t care. Since my experience, I have spoken with several other families who have in the past year also had a bad experience with this company (in Springfield). I wish I would have talked with them prior to my furniture purchase. If you need further review on how horrible this company is, check their claims with the Better Business Bureau.
Description of Work: Purchased a complete 'top of the line' bedroom set for our master bedroom, and mattress for a guest bedroom.

The salesperson followed me around the store almost the entire time I shopped, leaving me no privacy to look without pressure. She told me as she followed me around, about this wonderful furniture warranty they sold through a company by the name of "Montage". In her words, I would be able to live on the furniture without worry of stains, burns, rips etc... The furniture or damaged piece would be replaced without question, if any of these occurred. However, she failed to mention it only covered one claim per item. I tried to process a claim through "Montage," that was denied, due to a previous claim. The Montage Representative expressed her frustration, saying they sell the warranty through Ashley Furniture stores nation wide and several people had expressed the same frustration of claim denials, due to salespeople that made dishonest statements or failed to fully inform the customer, just to get the warranty sell. In short, the sales people are paid on commission for the sale of each warranty they sell along with the furniture. Make sure you find out the details of the warranty and all of its exclusions. Otherwise, you can end up with a lot of out of pocket expense to get furniture repaired that you thought would be covered. I will never buy from Ashley Furniture again!
Description of Work: I purchased two loveseats, a sofa, and a bed from Ashley Furniture. I also purchased a warranty that covers damages to the furniture.
