Contacted Meek's Design Center specifically because I had done my research and wanted to use Windsor vinyl replacement windows. We're looking to replace 20 windows, so this is not a small job, but when we visited the showroom on a Saturday, the window guy (Ken) was not happy with us very beginning; he wanted to sell us more expensive wood windows from Anderson. The Windsor windows are parked back in a corner in a storage room, not the showroom at the front of the store, but at least we got to see them and try out the model window. Rocky start, the window guy was a little argumentative and annoyed with us, but we're moving forward at this point, so we'll give Ken the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a bad day. After we left, Ken followed up quickly with a quote for the windows (about $5500) and told us he had a list of installers he could recommend. I had a few questions that I emailed to him; got mostly one-word answers and not much explanation. Always got the impression I was bothering him. When I asked for the list of installers, I got ONE name and ONE phone number, not the list he had mentioned before. I called the installer, he came out and measured our windows so he could give us a quote for labor. Then things started to go haywire. The installer called to let me know that he couldn't send me his labor quote until Ken visited the house and looked at our windows. Neither he nor Ken could give me a reason for this visit, just that it's how Ken wants to do it. Then Ken calls and scolds me for messing up his process by contacting the installer. (What did he think I was going to do with the name and phone number he gave me?) By this point, he was also upset because he had quoted us 2013 prices (during the last weekend in November) and now we were coming up on 2014, so he'd have to re-quote the job. I really liked these windows, and the price, so I'm still dealing with Ken even though it's clear he doesn't want to deal with me. But between the holidays and snow days and work schedules and Ken canceling appointments, we never could manage to get Ken out to the house to do whatever it was he needed to do. (I think the whole purpose was to try once more to talk us into more expensive windows, but that's just my guess.) In the meantime, the installer says he can't send me his bid for labor until Ken tells him it's OK. And Ken won't do that until he's been to the house. And we can't seem to make that happen. By this point the whole thing is frustrating, and I'm feeling like I'm begging for Ken's permission to spend my money with his company. I contacted the store manager and asked if we could work with a different window guy, but all that happened was the manager had Ken call me again. By this time, Ken's definitely upset at me and my cheap-y vinyl window situation. He's defensive, and rude, and even more condescending that he's been before. He decides the best thing is for him to and quot;just bow out completely.and quot; So that leaves me with no contact at Meek's except my installer, who still has to go through--guess who?--Ken. And this guy relies on Ken for referrals, so he's between a rock and a hard place in this situation. Bottom line, I'm not sure if Ken didn't like dealing with a homeowner instead of a contractor, didn't like dealing with a woman, or just didn't like dealing with me. He definitely didn't like dealing with people who weren't looking to spend $20K+ on windows. We were too low-rent for him. Instead of trying to earn our business he tried to make me jump through his hoops to earn the privilege of spending my money at Meek's. And management didn't want to be bothered. Pass.

Price was competitive, workmen and materials arrived on time and finished on time. The sliders did not exactly fit properly and they sent a repairman and now they work perfectly and we have saved a lot on utility bills.
Description of Work: We had old jalousie windows removed from our sunroom and replaced with stationary windows and new sliders.

They had the doors that we wanted and at the price that we wanted them at. They worked with us really well and saved us a lot of money. We live in an older home so there had to do some work arounds. I would recommend to other members. We did have an issue with the doors not closing properly but they resolved it right away.
Description of Work: I used Meeks Design Center 6 months back to install patio doors and to take my windows out.
