Description of Work: The battery for my galaxy s3 is acting up. It was a refurbished battery that was a replacement for an earlier battery. I had thd geek squad protection plan. I went to the line at the mobile phone section of the store and stood waiting. The clerk looked past me and proceeded to help another woman who had just walked up. He helped her and only nodded at me me. The other clerk looked at me and asked if i had a question. I told them thst i wss waiting in line to get the same sevice thst the woman who butted in front of me had received. The one helping her said that it shouldn't be too long but she kept asking for more information. I told them that i wanted a new battery and that was when they told me i was in the wrong spot and i had to go over to the geek squad counter. When i went over there i was told that i could not get a new battery. They told me that i had to get a refurbished phone. I told them that i didnt want a new phone since there was nothing wrong with my phone. My husband has the same phone and we switched batteries to see if it was the battery and it was. I cancelled the geek squad service and went to batteries plus for a new battery.

I think they are pretty good, overall. I like the reliability of Apple computers.

When arriving at the Geek Squad, I waited in line for 10 minutes while only one Geek Squad agent was helping people and two others were working in the back, and five others were standing around. I told the agent about the problem, he had no idea what was wrong with it and asked for my information. He stood there typing and staring into the computer monitor for ten minutes without speaking a word. He then threw a paper at me and told me to sign it and my computer would be sent to Kentucky and return in 2-4 weeks. I was called about 2 weeks later about a product replacement. No one in the geek squad could explain to me what was wrong with my computer. Agent Cline told me my computer was junked out and my hard drive and information was impossible to retrieve. I was sent to a sales representative (Christian) who was very helpful and told me my hard drive would be sent to me. I was told to wait two weeks for my hard drive. I asked why two weeks, and they explained that it took days to process an email and then to ship the hard drive. The next day, I was contacted and told I could not get my hard drive. Options were get a new computer and lose all of my information, get my old one back that is busted and not get a new one, or get a new one and pay $269 for my information. I tried to contact the Geek Squad 8 times that day, and every time they answered, I got "Geek Squad, Please hold." I spoke with managers of Best Buy and the service center in Kentucky until I finally decided to lodge a complaint with the corporate office. They offered me a $50 gift card from my terrible customer service because every time I went in to speak with an agent, they each had an attitude and did not help me whatsoever. I received third degree about asking for my own information and an attitude that just said, "I shouldn't have to help anyone." I ended up losing my information because the Geek Squad would not give me service or help I needed. I received a new laptop, and it works fine, but I dread going in there to fix another problem.
Description of Work: The backlight of my laptop went out. It was under a 1-year manufacturer's warranty and brought into Best Buy s Geek Squad for repair. The agent took my computer and sent to Geek Squad City in Louisville, KY for repair.
