Oriental Coffee Table, leather wing chair and antique arm chair were damaged due to inapproprite packing, no protective blankets used. Recently refinished cedar chess was scratched in several locations. Top and edge of Sligh desk was damaged in the move. Offered a settlement for far less then the estimated value of repairs.

This company only cares about money. Your things might as well be thrown in a dumpster. The initial estimate was off by $800 which we had to pay on arrival of goods or they refused to unload. They itemized household goods and listed them as soiled or damaged regardless of condition so that any damaged items could be denied on future claim. Even if items are completely new - they're listed as soiled. They don't go thru every item with you as they list it and categorize its condition. According to fry Wagner, it's your responsibility to decipher all the codes listed next to every single item in your house and dispute them before it's loaded on the truck because if you sign ANYTHING they will use it against you. It's impossible for one person to oversee the description of every item simultaneously while 4 others are wrapping and packing. They count on this. If you don't sign the item sheet after they load up your things, they tell you they will go unload the truck. Upon delivery, If you sign the paper they present you that says you received your shipment after items are delivered to new residence, you are releasing them from responsibility for anything. So if you don't unpack every single box before they leave, you'll basically be accused of lying if anything is broken or missing when you ask for reimbursement. There's no proof that it was done DURING the move. Hopefully, you have X-ray vision and you can see your broken items thru those boxes before they walk out on you. Otherwise, I guess they need to stay at your house for the next three weeks while you unpack and move in. A few Examples: We had a new sofa - just recovered and never used, classified as soiled and then ripped as they brought it in. Watched them do it. Mover apologized. It was disputed on claim. Crista gave us $72 for a new velvet sofa. While packing, we decided to remove wadded up linens in a box and fold them so they would be in better shape upon arrival. When Mover saw the box being repacked, he knew we would see our new anthropologie bedskirt ($150) shredded so he decided to tell us about it when he saw that box being unloaded. Initially, Crista Wheeler in claims said it was packed so it was already like that. We told her to ask him - he had admitted it - we received $15. Wow. Generous. Slipcover on chair was ripped but it was "packed" and we signed off on that list of thousands of items so the Response from Crista: "Denied." Memory foam mattress pad torn in half as pulled out of the truck in our driveway. $18. thanks. That might cover tax on a new one. Legs broken completely off chairs. $15 Green egg grill body cracked and lid busted. Pieces of ceramic lid hidden inside other items. $100. Extra large Vintage Globe hanging light fixtures that will cost $500 each minimum to replace... $12 for all three. $200 lamp - conveniently left off claim completely. $0 Vitamix blender - $18 No reimbursement for anything that "didn't show up" like original art work that can't be replaced or plastic office chair mats that cost $80, because again - you signed off that they packed all your goods. This was a household of two adults and two children. We had 3-4 movers every day for 3 days. Not always the same people. It would be impossible for someone to oversee every dish packed in the kitchen at the same time as another person was packing up the master bedroom. We helped them. We fed them and supplied them with unlimited drinks at our cost. We treated them with respect. Items were left behind that we had to pack ourselves and pay additional storage on while we were in transit. Closets were left, other items were broken and shoved into other items to hide the evidence, or just missing altogether. After this horrid experience we were given $900 as a "good will gesture" they said because technically we signed the forms... We didn't even deserve that... even tho we paid them over $8000. I'm sure we will receive a response to this review that says "sorry you were disappointed" but that doesn't make up for a nightmare experience, the damaged items that can't be replaced and the overall poor treatment we received in response to our honest and thorough evaluation of our items. Do not use this company. If you do, expect to pay top dollar for getting your items broken, lost, and then to be treated as a liar when you ask them to do what's right. They are not honest and they will not treat you as you treat them. Mr. Meeks if you feel the need to respond, don't. You already had an opportunity to do the right thing. And You didn't.

I survived the TORNADO that hit Joplin, MO and killed over 120 people, but the real DISASTER was when I called Fry Wagner/United Van Lines to move me. Over $1,100 in damaged furniture and broken lamps. They could not deliver as promised and overcharged me by $1,400. After three months of documentation of my complaints with letters and calls…no response! Celia Kunce 81
