My delivery person was Josh and Robbie. They both appeared to be under the influence of Marijuana both by appearance and smell. I do not appreciate that being brought to my home at all as I am a Christian minister. From now on I will pick up my own appliances.

There weren't many reviews of moving companies, but since they were on Angie's List I contacted them, plus they were a local company and would come to my home to do an estimate on site versus the many Internet Agents that do everything via email. The guy that came out to do the survey (Dennis I think) was very professional and reviewed the estimate and all of the information with me. He specifically said that they only use their own employees and do not use subcontractors, and he even said that he was a driver as well as doing estimating. I gave them my the desired dates for my move and they gave me estimated dates for their services in Springfield as well as an estimated date for delivery in Georgia. They came to pack as scheduled on Thursday, June 4. I had been originally told that the truck would be there on Friday, June 5 to load, but Cindy Hart had called me earlier in the week and asked if they could come on Saturday instead due to them needing to pick up another load before mine. I hesitated, but thought it might mean that I would be the last load on the truck and hence I might be delivered earlier than expected, which I was told would be Monday, June 8 or Tuesday, June 9. I was told that the truck would be there on Saturday morning June 6 between 8AM - 9AM. On Saturday morning at about 8:15 I got a call from the driver that he was JUST LEAVING KANSAS CITY! He told me he had to have some work done on his truck. He didn't apologize or even acknowledge that he was late based on what I had been told. So he got to my loft ay about 11AM. It was just him and a young man - no other help. Again, no apology of any kind. I sent an email to Cindy Hart after I got the earlier call, and got no response. About 10AM I called Bestway and got an answering service, so I explained everything and said the thing that bothered me most was that no one had called the night before or even earlier Saturday morning and told me what was going on. I won't get into specifics about the appearance of the driver and his helper, but I will say that I though he the driver was one of the homeless people that live in the streets of downtown Springfield. He looked like he hadn't showered, shaved or changed clothes in a week. At my question, the driver told me that they would probably be done around 2PM or 3PM, so I rearranged the people that were coming over to help me clean the place and touch up the walls (from pictures, etc.) after everything was gone. With little progress I asked the driver again at 2PM when he thought they would be done and he said about another 3 hours worst case. So I rearranged everyone again for 5PM, even though I still had to drive 11 hours to Georgia yet that night.I went to lunch and when I came back about 3:30 there looked like nothing had been done. Basically, with the exception of the furniture where he had to help, the driver did nothing - not one box had he moved all day. That one kid with him had done everything by himself. At his point I had to cancel any help that I had scheduled as they could wait any later. At 7:00PM they finally were finished. I asked the driver if he would still be to Atlanta by Tuesday, and he said probably Wednesday (no apology again), but he wasn't sure because he had to see a doctor because he was sick, but he said he would let me know. I sent Cindy Hart an email explaining the situation and that Bestway would have to hire someone to come do the cleaning and touch up the walls because I HAD to get on the road to Atlanta. I thought it was a reasonable request after everything that had happened. Since I didn't hear from him yesterday or this morning, I called the driver and asked him when he was going to be here. He proceeded to tell me that he was grounded for a week due to his illness, and that they were looking for another driver to take the load and they would call me when they had one. So I called Bestway and left a message for Cindy. She did call me back and left a message with the customer service number for North American Van Lines. She said these things were "out of her control". Of course no mention of having someone come and do the cleaning and things. The contract I signed for the services was with Bestway, and I assumed they would provide some help along the way If something came up. Clearly they should have said that they only process paperwork as an agent, and if you have problems you are on your own. They should not however, imply that they don't use subcontractors since they use contract drivers like everyone else. I pretty much chose them because they said that and they were a local company. I still haven't heard from North American Van Lines so I have no idea when my furniture and goods will get. Clearly Bestway has no intention of trying to help me out in anyway and could really care less what happens. Of course I had to hire someone to do the cleaning and still have to find someone to do the other touch up items so that I get me deposit back. I suppose I will be staying in a hotel until my furniture arrives ay my own expense of course. My advice is that don't be duped into thinking there is any benefit to supporting the local economy by using a local company for a service like this. Just use one of the on line internet agents and you will save money and get the same service (or better),
