I had a 6 foot privacy fence replaced and two gated areas replaced. I wanted metal framing on the gated areas. The existing old fence torn out. Everything was on schedule at the time they said it would be done. I was very happy with the crew that installed the fence.

I will start by saying Anchor Fence and I got off to a rocky start. I hired them to build a fence approximately 300 feet in length. My yard borders some woods and my request was for the fence to be as close to the tree line as possible. The first take they missed the mark by about five feet. My yard also has a slight incline to it and the original fence had significant gaps in the bottom of the fence where my dogs could get out (defeating the purpose of the fence). Mind you these are 120+ pound dogs so these gaps were indeed significant. However, I was pleased when they volunteered to move the fence the remaining five feet and correct any gaps in the bottom of the fence for no additional cost. The final product is of great quality with which I am 100% satisfied. Going back to the tricky landscape of my yard, Anchor Fence was also the only company I consulted with that gave me a plan to build a gate along the slope that would take said slope into consideration, and I am not disappointed. The 10 foot double gate I had built sits perfectly flush with the ground despite the incline, which looks so much better than some of my neighbors whose fences have more of a staggered "stair-step" look to accommodate the slope of their yards. So yes, while it would have been nice if they had finished the fence correctly the first time, their willingness to correct their mistake and the exceptional quality of the fence altogether more than makes up for their initial flub in my mind.

This spring being only 6-8 months after install the fence was full of rotting knot holes, cracked/splitting slats/rails, and obvious inferior material and workmanship. I again took pictures and submitted to the company. I told him that this did not look like a less than 1 year old fence. Manager had left company so new manager came to meet with me (told me he didn't have much experience in this industry) but he agreed to send out Crew Chief to determine replacements/repair. Needless to say they again came back out (while I wasn't at home of course) to replace 1/2 of the ones I had marked I wanted replaced and told me that was it. They would do nothing more. I wrote an email and informed them I would write my review here and to the BBB. I tried to let them know that if it were their house, their money, their expectation of quality work/materials they would not want this fence in their yard. I cannot and would never recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Contracted Anchor Fence to replace one side of my privacy fence with adjoining neighbor and gates. Salesman promised best quality cedar from west coast supplier which is far superior than where other fence companies got their wood. Result was a fence that company CEO and Crew Chief had to come out to inspect after several complaints and both agreed should be torn out and replaced. I made the suggestion and opted to have a 2nd row added to avoid waste, mess, time, gaps and problems with containing my dogs during workweek - BIG MISTAKE. Work took over 4 weeks to get on schedule - communication from them was lacking. One workman was skilled the other was in training and slowed down the job. I took 2 vacation days and workers didn't show first day - finally called to reschedule next morning. Next day they didn't show up until noon - decided to do another small job that morning. Was told it would be a 2-day job. Day 1 got gate support put in and started tear out which took longer than they expected. Day 2 finished rest of tear out and dug holes for new posts but didn't finish. Day 3 dug rest of holes and put in posts but left so they could set in concrete overnight. Day 4 installed fence in a rush since it was Sunday and they needed to get home to wife calling him all day to take kids school shopping. So I walk outside to check periodically, ask if they need cold drink and find to my shock that instead of moving some loose brick of neighbors flower bed they cut off the bottom of fence leaving a gaping hole on my side of fence for about 4 feet. I told them if the flower bed was ever removed then we have a big hole and my dogs can get out. I was home yet they did not come to me to discuss or authorize so I told them it was unacceptable. I took photos of not only this issue but of the many long sharp nails poking through that you could walk by and could hurt someone, the numerous knot holes and gaps of only a few days old fence. Nails were embedded too deep almost going through the rail. I still have all these pictures for reference. Management came out at my request and admitted it was the worse job they'd seen and shocked their crew did this work. They gave me choice to completely tear out and replace or add another side of fence on my side to cover thus making it a double fence - of which I choose. They sent the same workman back to add the additional fence which I felt was a mistake.
