The services started out well. I originally spoke with Dylan near the end of April. We walked over my yard and I told him all the services I would like to have done, with the understanding that I would authorize the services I could afford at the time. We agreed on the services and prices above. Dylan told me he would have everything done by the end of May. Dylan did not completes lol of the quoted jobs until June 26th. I paid for the work as it was completed. The first jobs, mowing, sprinkler turn on and spring clean up went well. Then there was a period of no activity. I called to find out when he would come to till as I was waiting to plant my garden and flowers. I reminded Dylan I traveled with my job and only had a few days available to plant before being out of town again. Neither till job when complete, was done well. The garden was only tilled in the center, leaving weeds and vines on all four sides, inside the railroad tie borders. This un-tillled portion ranged from 1ft to approximately 3ft wide. By the time the tilling was done, I was out of town again. When I came back, the garden was grown over, beyond my ability to clear out. So I did not plant a garden this year. The flower bed was cleared of surface weeds but not tilled. The ground was completely hard-packed, making it very difficult to dig holes for my plants. When the gravel was delivered, it was poorly distributed leaving bare patches. The areas in the back yard were not covered at all. On the same day, the gate to my yard was left standing open. I have a dog with access to the back yard through a dog door. Dylan had agreed to call me on the days he would be at my house so I could keep the dog door closed and my dog inside. That did not happen. I did not pay for the gravel until June 26th, the last day he was here because I thought he was not done since the back yard had yet to be completed. He did bring a little more gravel for the back on that last day. It didn't look like the same color, but he said after it rained and the dust was washed off it would be the same. It isn't - the original rock is dark gray. The rock he brought is a red-gray and stands out horribly. My greatest dissatisfaction comes from the garden pond. Dylan was to remove the old water feature and replace it with a new one, using my rock, pump and filter. The only additional material he needed to provide was the liner. Dylan and I discussed my expectations - I wanted to put koi in the pond so it needed to be at least 2.5 to 3ft deep and as long and wide as the old pond. There was to be a waterfall of approximately 3ft to the pond. After he disassembled the old pool, Dylan informed me it was a bigger job than he anticipated. He wanted to charge an additional $300. The finished pond was barely 15" at the deepest point, unlevel and the waterfall was a horrible mess. The water came out of the tube and immediately disappeared. It did not fall down into the pool. I told him it wasn't acceptable. He stated he could not make my material work for the waterfall I wanted, despite the fact that same material had done the exact same job in the old pool. He also backed a truck and trailer to the pond, driving over a concrete landscape border, breaking it in two places. After much discussion and a few more attempts, Dylan was able to get the water to flow correctly, but it still looked a mess. While I tried to decide what to do, Dylan said he would go back to the original price he quoted me just to be done with it. Reluctantly I agreed. He finished filling the pool with water, I paid him in full at his insistence and he left, but not before telling me he didn't want to mow my yard any more. I asked him to mow until I could find a replacement company. He agreed, but has not been back at all. As it turned out, the pool does not hold water. By the next morning more than half the water had leaked out of the pool. I can not put fish or plants in the pool and it is an ugly eyesore now. I have pictures of the progress and final results for evidence of poor quality.
Description of Work: Lawn Services. I received a flyer on my door with a quote for mowing, irrigation and fertilizer treatment. When I called the owner, Dylan Mashburn, we also discussed spring clean up and other jobs I had. With a finish date for all but the mowing of the end of May, I was given a bid for the following; Mowing for the season - $35 per mow Irrigation test and turn on - $50 Landscaping and flower bed spring clean up, including trimming trees and bushes - $145 Flower bed and garden spot tilling - $35 each Removal of old two-tier fountain and replacement - $600 plus Dylan would keep the 2 existing rubber tubs, one was cracked but he thought he could fix it. Dylan valued them at $300. Add gravel for landscape $290
