He had to call to get directions because he could not find the house?? No big deal really but it did worry me a bit considering how long he had been in the business. I was trying to show him what I needed moved, he kept interrupting and trying to play with the dog. He paid very little attention to what I was trying to show how. He gave me a quote of $1500 to move the contents of a 1700 sq foot house across town. He spent the majority of the time slamming other companies and one in particular "by name" some of the things he said I found insulting and crossing the line. This turned me off immediately. He kept saying people thought "he walked on water!" Excused him self to use the restroom and left the lid up on the toilet only to return and say they did not have the date available but they would move me some on Saturday and the rest on Sunday, I was just told the day before they were available. Completely unprofessional.

Description of Work: Shannon came to give us a estimate and bragged how good he was and how he would take care of our furniture. He gave us a total estimate of $1250.00. He talked so much we did not get a formal estimate but hired him to do the job. On the day of the move he showed up with three men and a truck. He was to help pack also and this was part of the original deal. He put one man in the kitchen --who spent the whole day there. Shannon kept saying we did not do enough of our own packing tho he had seen what we had done when he made the estimate. After a couple of hours he said he was going to go " on the clock" and we would pay him just like one of his helpers. H e left in the afternoon to get a open trailer because his truck was full and he was to store every thing for two nights. He said he would take it to his place to protect it. His large truck and the trailer both had flat tires and he had to use my compressor to put air in them. During the time he had our stuff in storage it rained and he did not cover the trailer and my tools etc that were in the trailer started to rust. He did not deliver on the day specified but came after we called the next day. ( we were lodged in a motel. ) He argued with us about where to put stuff in the garage and finally smashed our glass top coffee table. He also took one of our occasional tables that they had damaged to be repaired. After offloading he gave us a bill for $2500 and insisted on a check made out to him --not the company. A long time after we called about our table and a new top to the coffee table he said it was in his pickup but he forgot where we lived. We finally got the occasional table and he had someone do a good job repairing that but he also brought out a glass top that would not fit the base of the coffee table. He said it would cost him too much to replace it with a proper fit. We demanded that he pay us for the table and he got very irate. He had one of his men with him and borrowed enough to meet our demand. He was supposed to be insured but apparently was not. This transaction is what caused us to join Angie's List after that scam. I would never EVER use this company again under any circumstances O BY THE WAY THEY ALSO USE THE NAME OF C & C MOVING....We are still waiting for a repair man to come to our house to repair the damaged dining room table.

Description of Work: The movers were to pick up furniture at my home and take to storage facility. They moved heavy concrete flower pots on my porch and didn't replace them where they'd found them. They were to pick up furniture and boxes of goods at my daughter's to also take to storage. They not only didn't take items that she had told them were to be in storage, but she had shut her 4 cats in the bathroom. The men let the cats out when they used the toilet, and urinated on the floor. Since my daughter had to work, I had gone over to make sure they were doing what she had asked, and they kept leaving items I knew she wanted taken. If I hadn't been there, many items would have been left. Also, my daughter's father had made out the check to ABC Moving; when she presented it to Shannon Mitchell, the owner, he was furious that it was not made payable to him personally. Possible tax evasion???
