A-1 HOME INSPECTIONS

Terrible inspection! Missed rotted joists, leak in roof, scorch marks in electrical box, the electrical box not being grounded, and pipes not rated for hot water.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! They did an inspection on a house we were buying and caused significant damage. The inspector left the hot water running in the master bathroom shower for about ten day before it was discovered. Mold was all over the bathroom and master bedroom along with damage to the walls, cabinets, fixtures, doors and ceiling. They did a good job in the beginning about getting the mold cleaned up but then it went down hill from there. I don’t know if these guys have insurance but I’m pretty sure they didn’t turn it in. No adjuster ever came out. The owner wanted no part of this and wouldn’t return our calls. He left it up to the inspector that caused the damage. He hired subpar non contractors come to find out to do drywall repairs. We ended up paying another company to fix what these guys thought was good work, far from it. Then he hired a cabinet guy to do cabinet repairs. This guy started off good but ended up robbing us, felony theft. We filed a police report and we are now having a security system installed because we are worried about retaliation from these guys. We have been putting up with this mess for months. We had a good talk with the inspector and we told him we didn’t want him or his people back in our home. We all agreed to them sending us a check so we can get the work finished ourselves and so we can all be done with each other. It’s been several weeks and no check and now these guys won’t return our emails or calls. The inspector didn’t have good things to say about this company either and he says he going out on his own very soon, so beware!

A-1Home Inspections was very thorough. They were very knowledgeable and we felt very comfortable in their hands. They went over the report with us to make sure we understood everything and didn't have any questions. The company was very friendly and helpful from the first phone call to set an appointment!

I was really impressed with the service provided by this company. Steve was the person who performed my inspection and he has a very good eye for detail. He was open to my concerns and walked around the house with me and showed me everything, including stuff I wouldn't have thought about asking for. I met Steve at the house for about the last hour of the inspection as they suggested and we did a complete walk-through. Steve also gave me a lot of suggestions for things to do that would improve the look of the home (painting tips, flooring options, potential energy saving upgrades, etc). The report was about 40 pages long with pictures of every part that he inspected (not only problem areas, but points of interest throughout the house). I had my report by 8 A.M. the next day via email, which seems very fast. The only downside is that they do not take credit cards, which is understandable as they would have to raise their low prices in order to account for the fee's associated with that service. I opted to pay for this service out of pocket instead of roll it into the closing (which I think is an option).

Todd is very professional and friendly. He provided a very detailed inspection of the home from the driveway to the backyard and in, on, and under the entire house. He also performed the termite inspection. Todd answered all my questions and showed me many things about the house...like where my main water shut off is and how the locked when open feature on the double hung windows worked. He also physically showed me almost every issue found during the inspection. He explained things and talked to me in a way I could understand without making me feel ignorant. Todd's written report was provided very quickly (the same day). It is written in terms that anyone can understand. It includes pictures of each issue reported and some additional pictures of areas I didn't access myself like the crawl space and attic. The pictures also have arrows pointing to exactly what he is referencing in the report. I can't say enough good things about Todd's work! I will definitely refer others to him at every opportunity.
