Description of Work: They showed up when they said they would. Installed an outdoor ceiling fan kit and checked another ceiling fan indoors that wasn't working. They took care to not bring dirt into the house and were careful with the ladder to not bump into my walls or woodwork. Very polite and professional.

Description of Work: Jeff arrived as promised to advise me of the safety or non-safety of my power strips and cords. He was helpful, friendly, and patient, which is important to me as I'm eighty-two years old. He informed me that there was no necessity for changes and made suggestions of what I might want to do in the future, and there was no charge for his visit. I was quite impressed and will use him in the future, should the need arise.

Description of Work: I was very happy with the work Jeff did. They showed up on time, were polite & easy to talk to. They did several things including installing a ceiling fan, adding remotes to existing fans, installing a wall switch for an overhead light, fixing a junction box plus a few minor things. His hourly rate was reasonable and I was able to stay within my budget. I highly recommend Jeff and will defiantly call him again when I need work done.

Description of Work: I asked for a quote to install GFI outlets in my home. The electrician walked me through the process and advised me that I could do what I anticipated but suggested a better way and provided the methods at no cost. I liked the honesty of this firm. Although we did not receive service for this project, I will definitely use the firm for my next project.

Description of Work: Called and was given advice to try before schduling him for a service call. His suggestion has fixed our problem, and was less than 5 dollars. Very much appreciated his advice. ( The company we bought the equipment from had sent their own service rep 2 times, replaced the equipment once, and the control board once... all of which did not fix the problem, but one phone call here did. )

+ -1 moreHe came out on a Saturday, and just charged me the normal one hour fee. He did a great job. He was very friendly, told me I had the wrong size fuses and told me to get the correct size. He was very knowledgable and it was an overall good experience.

Description of Work: Mr. Small and another worker arrived 30 minutes early 8:00 am and left at 11:30. During this time they installed a ceiling fan in our living room and a new hall light. Our ceiling was not an easy one to cut through yet they worked hard, cleaned often, and were very mindful of all items around the living room. I recommend this company highly!!

Description of Work: Mr. Small came out to give me an estimate and took the time to fix a potential problem that could have started a fire in my home! He spent over an hour and charged me $50.00!!!! He gave me a bid and will return next week to put in a ceiling fan. NEVER before have I ever looked forward to see any workers that were coming to my home. I found him to be an intelligent, careful electrician that took the time to explain to me what was going on.

+ -1 moreHe did an excellent job. I had him quote additional work that we thought would have to be performed due to code, but he found out that the additional work was not required. He didn't have to tell me, but did. It saved me $1,300 and cost him that much. But I am sure he will make it up with additional work as he seems to be very experienced and did an excellent job. He was very up front and did quick clean work.
Description of Work: Meter and mast replaced due to damage from someone hitting the pole infront of my house.

+ -1 moreOur home was crushed by the ice store a few years back, the insurance took care of the major damage, but our electrical was in need of up-grading and was not covered by insurance. We had hoped that we would be able to find a contractor to perform this service and we called around for a good six months to a year and the prices were outrageous. The people we interviewed were not forthcoming with the details we wanted to hear - specifically the difference in price from one breaker to the next was only $100.00 - so we went with the larger breaker - it just made sense. Coming from the West Coast, we use Angie's list a good deal of the time for information. In either case, several weeks ago we decided to try and find someone who could up-grade our electrical panel. We poked around on your site and made a few calls and ended up calling #1 Choice Electric. As a result of the other contractors we spoke with in the past, we had lots and lots of questions. He was able to provide us with logical answers that made sense and he gave us the impression he really wanted our business. We hired this company and they pulled the proper permits and about a week later we had our power up-graded with the approval of the City. We had them do a few extra fixes that we really needed and we were very happy with his work and he treated us as if we were the most important customer around. Make sure regardless of who you hire make sure they have a valid license, and not a number printed on the card, ask for references and make sure the references are current. Ask lots of questions - it's important, if the contractor does not want to take the time to make you feel comfortable about the work that you are going to be paying for then just keep looking.
Description of Work: We found #1 Choice Electric on your site - we have been wanting to have our electrical up-graded for quite some time. Most of the people we spoke with were extremely expensive and we really did not like their overall take it or leave it attitude. We called #1 Choice electric and discovered the owner of the company is a Master Electrician - what a find!!! Being a Master Electrician, as we came to discover, is a special skill and takes more education and experience. He did a tremendous job, pulled all of the proper permits, met with inspectors, gave us great information and he was extremely competitive on pricing. He called us a week later to make sure everything was working and asked if we had any questions - we were totally satisfied and thanks for having him on your list. We referred him to a local business who was looking for electrical work and as we understand it went just as well as our job. Thanks
