Description of Work: Called Lorenz for a bid on an new HVAC system. The service man showed up on time to give the bid. He was very nice, and said he would email me a bid later in the day. When it got close to closing time I called to get the bid. She checked with him and said it would be the next day. I called in the late morning and she said she would call him to what was up. I called at closing (28 hours after the bid) and she said he would'nt be able to get to it because he was working on the Vandivort Hotel project. I told her nevermind. I needed to get the job bid and booked because tenants needed AC. Down Home Heat and Air gave me a great bid over the phone the night before. I used them and they were fantastic. If Lorenz was too busy to give me a bid, they would likely be too busy to get my system installed. I have used Lorenz a few times before for plumbing and HVAC. Things went well 1 out of 4 times. The bad 3 times involved return visits to fix the problem or multiple contacts to correct billing. I don't want to work this hard to have work done.

I called the provider at 8 am for a non-working AC. Was told they would see when the technician could get out here and call us back. By 10:30, still no call from them, so I called back to ask about the timeframe. It was July and hot and we had no air. They told us he would be here at 11:30. By 12:30 we were sweltering. We called back, and got their answering service until well after 1:30. Finally we got the company on the phone, and he said that the technician had ALREADY come to our house, at 11:15, and that he was unavailable for the rest of the day now. We explained that no, no one had been by....that we had been watching for him and listening for the door and that we were both home the entire time. Either the repairman had the wrong house, or someone at the company was outright lying. They had the attitude that it was our fault that we couldn't get our unit serviced because we weren't home at the designated time. So, we wasted most of the day waiting for them when we could have called another provider to begin with. We ended up needing to have a part ordered, so that added a whole day of no AC on to waiting for the part. Very sloppy, and unprofessional.

I remember this day perfectly, and personally had a company meeting about this call. On that morning we had no receptionist or scheduler and our Air Conditioning schedule was full already. I took two service calls that I believed we could fit in for the day. I called our service tech gave him two calls while he was working and he was going to call back when he had a second to give me a solid time. (removed member name) called back and I called the tech still working, and he said I can get to it around 11:30 before he heads to Branson, still on the phone I relayed this to (removed member name) and I believed everything was good to go. I get a call from (removed member name) around 2-2:30 pissed! As well he should have been, with him on the phone I called our service tech and said what happened to the 11:30 time you gave me he said he went to the call and nobody was home he stayed for ten minutes called the number nobody answered and then headed to Branson for his scheduled appointment for no AC. When I relayed this (removed member name) stated they were home the entire time. I though our tech was skipping calls and making excuses when in fact when I sat down with him he had went to the other call that was no AC and those customers were not home, which I called and verified that they weren't home and if he had called them. In an effort to see if he could stop by on his way back from Branson at 4-4:30 (removed member name) had already had enough. It simply was a matter of miscommunication between office and tech getting the wrong call attended to. I was sure he had the (removed member name) taken care of before heading out of town for the afternoon, but we did make a mistake on this instance. We have never done business with the (removed member name) before so I know that they do not know our reputation for being prompt and professional and have judged us on a one time first time bad experience which I am embarrassed over. Being the Springfield, MO best plumbing, heating and air conditioning service company three years in a row I don't expect things like this to occur but they do. I hope in the future you will give Lorenz Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning another chance at your service needs for this is not the type of service we provide.
