Very professional and easy to work with, explained what he was doing and made sure I understood how to work my new lights before leaving.

Money well spent. I'm one lucky homeowner. I had a dehumidifier plugged in downstairs to an outlet that was wired incorrectly and showed clear signs of burning. I have no idea how this house never went up in flames. I am so grateful that I had problems with my refrigerator otherwise I would NEVER have had an electrician out to my house and undoubtedly I would have lost it. Mark was wonderful, kind, jovial in spite of the situation and his attitude put me at ease and worry just went out the door. Debra in the front office very knowledgeable, kind, caring and very helpful before anyone even arrived here. These are the folks that phoned me back on a Saturday when I had lost electricity in one half of my house and my refrigerator. Mark was wonderful and talked me through it on the phone. That's another entry prior to this that occurred a couple of weeks ago. Just cannot say enough good things about the dependability and customer service from these people. If you have ANY flickering lights or loose plug-ins..PLEASE call these people to help you. And I am now better educated of what to look for.
Description of Work: checked several electrical outlets, replaced two. Aluminum wiring in this house and the technician pigtailed both outlets with copper wire.

Mark arrived and we showed him where we wanted the new outlet. He looked at the area and then gave us an estimate. We asked when he could do the work and he was able to do it right then. He performed the work as promised and in the estimated timeframe. He was very courteous and professional and completely cleaned up the area where he was working. We are very pleased and will definitely use them for our electrical needs in the future!

I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with the service I received from Mr. Electric of Clay County. Their representative, Mark Plunkett, arrived on-time, with a professional appearance and a very friendly demeanor. He asked what I needed done, and I told him about needing an outlet installed to plug in a new over-the-range microwave, and that I would like for him to look at some additional work I wanted them to bid on. He had the outlet installed within about 15 minutes, and offered to go ahead and hang the microwave for me. Having a couple of physical challenges, I agreed, and he had it mounted within about 30 minutes. We then walked the house, with me giving him a list of what my wife and I had discussed we would like to have done. Mark was eager to offer suggestions on how to both improve on the ideas we had, while at the same time making the installation as efficient as possible. I will not hesitate one minute to have Mr. Electric of Clay County back into my home, and look forward to an ongoing relationship with them in the future. Kevin Denton

I spoke with Mark and he was awesome. He talked over different scenarios of what could be happening here at my house. It was hard to pinpoint and I was waiting for KCPL to come out and determine if the electrical problem could have been caused on the outside. He made suggestions that made sense to me and we both agreed that waiting for KCPL was Step #1. It just felt very lonely here at my home on Saturday till I heard from Mark (and another company just prior to...). There were two men that took time to phone me on a Saturday and I sincerely appreciated that. And Mark, was upbeat, kind and patient. I sure as heck would call on this company for help in the future!!! He called me back promptly after I left a message. Thank you Mark and Debra for your kindness and expertise, customer Service A+.

Everything well perfectly, they were on time, cleaned up after themselves and did great work. I am sure we will use them again in the future.

It went great. He called back almost immediately, and scheduled an appointment quickly. He arrived on time and was very nice and professional. He quickly identified the issue and had it fixed in a matter of minutes. He went well above and beyond and changed our light switches as well at no additional cost. We had just moved into our new home. The existing wiring didn't allow for wall mounting TV's. This hasn't crossed our mind until the DirecTV guy pointed out lack of power abilities to the TV's we were about to hang. I called Mr. Electric and they had Mark out there within 2-3 hours of my call. It was a little higher cost than expected, but none the less, they were fast, clean, and kind to us in a crunch! Mark was great, and we will be hiring him again!

Zach was terrific. We had planned on installing regular can lights and he recommended the LED lights which are much more efficient. He also spent a great deal of time figuring out the best way to set up the lights to work off the on/off switches so they would be most convenient for our traffic pattern. The installation and clean-up went smoothly and the results look terrific.

We contacted Mr. Electric of Clay County for an estimate and set up an appointment. Zach arrived on time and we discussed the options of what we wanted to have done. He provided some input and suggestions and quoted us a price. We had one other bid at the time and Mr. Electric was a few hundred dollars lower, so we called back to make an appointment. Zach arrived on time and completed the job very professionally. He was neat and cleaned up all the debris. In fact, we were really pleased with the workmanship and quality, that we had Mr. Electric (and Zach) back out to install some additional can ceiling lights in the kitchen/pantry area. Overall, we were very satisfied and please with the work that was completed on both jobs.
Description of Work: We wanted to replace a ceiling fan in the living room and install a brand new ceiling fan/light kit in our master bathroom (which required installing wiring and junction box, since this was a new install). We also wanted to replace our current lighting in our kitchen with several can ceiling light fixtures and two pendant lights over the bar area.

Zach and Jason arrived on time for estimate. We shared what we wanted the "end result" to be following the installation of new circuit breakers and wiring. He took us through the scenario of the work to be performed, wrote up the estimate and we scheduled the work to begin the next Monday afternoon. Zach and Jason again arrived on time and worked diligently all afternoon, came back the next morning (on time) and completed the job by early afternoon. This was no easy task as five new outlets were being installed in the garage and basement areas and wires need to be "pulled" through concrete walls and floors. They installed six new circuit breakers to enable us to run some equipment without throwing a breaker each time the equipment was turned on. We were very pleased with their work and attitude.

Monday being a work day -- I had to schedule myself to be home for 1/2 the day as the appointment I scheduled on Friday was for that Monday between 8AM and 12 noon. Around 12:15 I called to find out how late the Electrician was apparently running. The lady who answered the phone explained they had me scheduled for Friday (the day I called). I explained that I was clearly told on Friday when I called (around 10AM-12Noon) that the appointment was set for the following Monday between 8AM-Noon. Further if they were scheduled to be at my house, why did no one certainly showed up that day (as I was home all day). She offered to schedule another day. I told her I couldn't afford to miss another 1/2 of work until I get some sort of assurance that someone will show up, or I can at least get a call if something changes. Obviously, no one showing up and causing me to miss 1/2 day of work I had scheduled was frustrating. I shared my frustration and asked if I could speak to the GM or the owner. I wanted to speak to someone in higher authority at this company so I could get some assurance of a next appointment being kept. She explained that the owner was on a job but she would pass the message. I asked her when I could expect to hear back from him? She explained she didn't know for sure -- but she would pass him the message. I got the sense the scheduler takes these kinds of phone calls often. She didn't offer any apology, any sense of urgency or any concern that they missed the appointment - it appeared to be just another day at the office for her. Further she absolutely DID NOT want to commit to promising me a phone call back within any kind of time frame (same day, next day or the next). OBVOIUSLY having someone miss work and wait for an appointment is "no big deal to them". It's clear this company is poorly managed and getting any kind of decent service from them is a matter of catching them on the "right day". My biggest concern is that if I cant get a return phone call or appointment, I am not comfortable with them standing behind thier work. Good luck if you hire these folks is all I can say -- I'm moving on. 12-8-2012 - to date I have not recieved a phone call back form the owner who was supposedly going to call me back.

The overall experience went from great to poor. I had difficulty getting an electrician to get me a bid for some work needing done, Mr Electric was the third attempt and they shined in this case. They came out the next day, got information on the work I needed done, and had a bid back within a couple days. They were more expensive than other bids by about 10%, but because of their promptness I chose to give them the work. Also because they had good Angies List reviews. The job was such that it had to be done in two parts. The first part was done and finished as scheduled, communication was excellent at this point and there were no issues. When it was time to do the second phase, communication was decent at this point but it took more effort on my end to keep appraised of what was going on. I had a deadline to get the second part done and had to call several times to make sure it happened on time. The first appointment was for a Wednesday morning, and I stayed home from work to let him in the house. But he never showed. I had to call several times to get in touch (several days later) and he said that his mother had to go to the hospital. I understand that life gets in the way, but someone still should have called to let me know. He did apologize. I was understanding of the situation at this point, and we re-scheduled. For the second appointment, I called to verify as I did not get any confirmation that he was coming, even though I had asked. I am not sure he would have if I had not pressed that day as it was after 6:00 on a Friday when he finally showed up. But I am speculating on that. At any rate, he did show up and do the rest of the work. (This part was to install a main panel in the new addition.) The work all appeared fine at this point and I was satisfied, just a little frustrated on the communication aspect. I would have given mainly A's at this point if I had done the review right then. However, about a week later, I realized that were the main-panel was installed was just not going to work. This was not anything on their part about the location, this was on my end. So I called and asked that someone come out to relocate the panel. And while they were there to add a sub-panel off of it. I understood that there would be charges for the relocation. One of their people came out and relocated the main-panel. I had let them know when I called earlier that the I had the sub-panel but did not have wire for it. The guy that did the work was not told that he needed wire. So he had to leave and go on a parts run, along with getting some other parts. When he got back he finished the work. So all was well, but I'm sure I paid a little extra because of the time to get the extra parts. The next day I opened the sub-panel and noticed that it was wired wrong. Only a 3 wire cable was going from the main panel to the sub, the ground and neutral was NOT isolated as it should have been, and the Neutral going from one panel to the other was an uninsulated wire. It should have only been used as a ground. I removed the wire he installed and bought some proper wire and installed correctly. I emailed with pictures what was done wrong, explaining I had already corrected, and would like credit for the wire and labor for the sub-panel installation. About 5 feet of wire and less than an hour of labor. A day or so later, I received a call from the individual that did the work, he apologized and offered to come fix it that day, but I let him know that I had already corrected it. I just said that I would like credit for that portion. He implied that that would happen. I waited a week or so, and never saw a credit. I emailed the main guy I had been working with, and said I had not seen the credit yet. About a week later he said he needed my CC info again, to issue the credit. I got it to him the next day. No credit, a week later. I email again. No credit, and now here it is a week later again, and still no credit. They would have gotten an A on quality, if they had not made the wiring mistake. And they get a D for responsiveness and C's on professionalism because of the lack of promptness and handling the credit for the work they did not do correctly. If they would have promptly credited for the mistake, I would have given them A's and B's on everything.
Description of Work: The electrical service to our house was upgraded to facilitate and addition. They installed the lines from the power company to a new, larger meter. They installed 2 new sub-panels. One for a detached garage, and one for the new addition. The lines outside were trenched underground and lines were pulled through the crawlspace.

We were very pleased with the entire experience. I had to cancel two previous appointments at short notice, but the company was very positive and professional about the schedule changes. Zach Redmond arrived right on time. He was cheerful, neat and dog-friendly, which is a big plus right there. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly with no fuss. To add the new outlet, he drilled out from the crawlspace in the basement and recommended a water-proof outlet for the future fountain. Everything was done in a neat and timely manner with no surprises on the bill.
Description of Work: We had two outdoor outlets that stopped working a couple of years ago. My husband tested the outlets, fuses, grounds etc. to try to fix the problem to no avail. Also, we decided on the spur of the monent to add another outside outlet to our patio, in case we decide to install a fountain.

Zach Redmond came and gave us an estimate for the work we needed. He made a couple of suggestions that were better solutions than we come up with. We pick light fixtures from Home Depot and had them ready when he came. They were on time and finished the project in a timely fashion. We were very satisfied with the estimate and the work performed. We highly recommended this company and are very happy with the service.
