Mr. Electric of Kansas City

Arrived on time and went right to work. The outlet issue was a bit complicated but Mark stayed with and it got to the bottom of the issue and showed me where he outlet has had some black discoloration. He installed new outlet and I have not had an issue since. I had purchased a new switch for the light/fan and installed it in good order.

Zach was WONDERFUL!! On time. Clean cut. Lots of smiles. Very personable and extremely professional. We purchased the coupon on Angie's List for 2 hours work @ $119 (value of $276.41). He purchased and replaced the ballast which support the older florescent bulbs with the more up-to-date one that use the LED bulbs. He also purchased the correct bulbs to go in the light fixture. He labeled our breaker box, finally, with all of the correct information. He had all the equipment he needed, and cleaned up his mess before he left. I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Electric and Zach and we will definitely call him again for any electrical problems we have!!

When you live in a house that is nearly 90 years old, you quickly find out that home improvement projects rarely go exactly as planned. Something unexpected always seems to pop up, and this was no exception. When the electrician (Mark) from Mr. Electric of Clay County arrived, he found out that only the hall light was going to go up without a hitch. The installation of the ceiling fans was a bit more "interesting". While installing a new ceiling fan in the master bedroom, Mark found that the junction box for the fan (which had been recently installed by another contractor) was not fastened correctly to the ceiling joists, so he had to fix that before installing the fan itself. The second ceiling fan also proved a bit tricky as Mark had to install a new mounting bracket to even be able to hang the fan. He managed this task as well, and successfully installed this fan as well. The bottom line here is that while I probably could have installed the fans myself had everything gone exactly as planned, having a professional like Mark do this work saved me the frustration of getting stuck when things didn't go as planned. His experience and professionalism when things did not go exactly as planned, allowed him to adapt to the never ending surprises in our 1925 house. I would heartily recommend Mr. Electric (and especially Mark!) to anyone.

They were very responsive when I called to arrange the service. We agreed on a date; electrician arrived promptly, was very professional and completed our work within the two hour time frame. No supplies were included - we purchased those ahead of time.

Zach was extremely personable and professional, had everything that he needed with him thanks to a detailed quote obtained earlier, and worked quickly and efficiently without rushing. Called on a Monday and arranged for a Wednesday afternoon appointment. Mark showed up during the expected time and spent some time discussing the work we wanted to have done during the process of remodeling both bathrooms. We had more work than could be done in a single visit and also didn't have the needed equipment for part of the work we wanted estimated. (Hadn't decided on whether to move light fixtures so we hadn't purchased wall fixtures yet, etc.) He and I considered what order to do the work in with respect to what would be cheaper (Big Deal vs % off coupon) and what would coordinate best with other scheduled work being done on the master bathroom. He got to work and installed a new bathroom exhaust fan, removed the existing fixture from the ceiling and ran the wire down into the wall so that it could be accessed once the new fixture is purchased and placement decided. He ran the loose wire into an existing box and capped it off, after first determining that we would not later need it in the process of a planned future kitchen remodel (shared wall between bathroom/kitchen). He also informed us of open splices in the attic above our master bedroom and recommended we fix those as well. He was not the fastest worker we've ever used, (though to be fair we haven't had electrical work done previously), but it was clear he put some thought into how each piece we asked him to do related to our overall project and future plans for our home, something I appreciate as this is our first major project, and the few extra minutes we spent discussing how to proceed were well worth it. I had originally planned to have him do two exhaust fans and bid the additional work, since I had the fans in my possession, but we ultimately decided it would be better to be done with the master bath so other work could continue in there without concern for multiple people working in the space. If we hadn't taken the time to discuss I would have one more thing to juggle to get the master bath finished so it simplified the project and this likely saved me time in the long run. We'll definitely be hiring Mr. Electric for the remaining work.

Very professional courteous etc.. I liked the electrician who did the work and I liked the work that was performed. He installed an outdoor security light. It looks and works great.

The Electrician from Mr. Electric was professional, on-time, and thorough. The quality was of the work was excellent. I will definitely use their services again! I highly recommend them.

It was one of those truly great contractor experiences. Granted, the asks were pretty small in scope, but the electrician (Aaron I believe - sorry, it has been about a month) was absolutely fantastic! He finished all of our little projects so quickly that he had time to give us some electricity 101 and talk through some of our future project plans to make sure we had our heads on straight for the electrical portions. I will use them, and especially Aaron, again and probably in the near future!

Called for emergency service when we smelled ozone and our breaker panel felt hot. The dispatcher was very helpful and promised a technician would call back immediately. Mark called within 15 minutes and was at our house within the hour. He pinpointed the burned breaker switch and replaced it. He also checked out the other switches in our panel to ensure they were in good working order. Absolutely the best service! Felt the price was very reasonable for a Sunday emergency service call. Highly, highly recommend.

It was fine. They were great. They were very polite and knowledgeable. He was really nice and told me he thought I should have a new wiring. He found out that I had wiring long enough that he could rewire the old wire so that saved me some money. He was very conscientious and had a really nice attitude. He was good and eager to please. He went around to check wall sockets. He even brought me a light bulb for the floodlight in my basement and gave it to me for free. It was awesome. When they said they were going to be here, he was there.

The electrician was congenial and adept. He completed 4 task on my to-do list within the allotted 2 hrs. (1) re-installed (?) decorative home office ceiling light fixture hanging by wires. (2) swapped backyard 'carnival spotlight' with decorative dark sky light fixture. (3) trouble-shot laundry ceiling fixture, replacing ballast w/updated version, and (4) tightened LR ceiling fan. The last was merely a loose screw, but I was impressed he admitted such. Overall, I'd give him a solid A (95%), will hire him again in the near future plus would recommend him to others. I used A-List's Big Deal, affecting the Price rating below. Cost of service below includes $27.xx for parts.

Mark was courteous and quietly went to work after explaining the work to me. Very pleased with the work he did and would recommend him.

The electrician made good recommendations for different types of switches for dimmers and ceiling fans. He worked straight through for about 5 hours. I was impressed with the neat job he did - all the packaging materials were removed. He recommended additional work that I should consider, but did not come across as pushing additional services. All in all, I was very pleased with the work.

I would use them again, they knew what they were doing and had a good price.

My wife had always complained about not having a light in our living room so I purchased 2 hours of electric work for $119 to have one installed. While he was at the house, I had him give me an estimate of installing the light and a power source for a wall mounted television. He quoted me a price of an additional $140 on top of the initial 2 hours for a total of $259. I provided all the materials for the installation except the light switch. I really liked the idea of him quoting a flat rate as opposed to an hourly rate. I knew exactly what the projects would cost regardless of the time used. He was courteous and professional.

He was professional and living in a 100 year old house, electrical work can be a challenge, but he did a great job.

He told me it shouldn't be over $300.00. We set up an appointment for him to look at the electrical panel. After talking to Zachary I checked Angie's List and found the 2 hours of electrical work for $119. I called him up to verify that he would accept the deal, then I purchased the deal. He also mentioned that my new microwave could also be installed within those 2 hours. A different man showed up to look at the panel, wrote out estimate for $422.00. I called Mr. Electric the next working day to talk to Zachary. He wasn't available I left message for to call me back and I haven't heard from him. My microwave was to be delivered this weekend and I was to set up appointment for the surge protector and microwave to be installed. I feel that they increased the price of installation by the price of the deal, why? The installation of the microwave wasn't discussed with the man who came to look at the panel.
