Nations Drywall Repair

This went very well! He was able to give an aprox start date, and called me about a week before to confirm the date. He was on time for his original estimate. We had a broken truss in the hallway and our ceiling was in bad shape. He was able to provide me with another contact (Bill Fallert from Dream Mill Creations) to come out the same day and repair the truss so the drywall could be repaired. Everything looks great! Quality work! Richard Nation fully explained our repair options and pricing difference ahead of time. He and his wife (who assisted him for our job) was very down to earth and a pleasure to talk to while they were there. I would highly recommend Mr. Nation and will use him any future drywall jobs.

Mr Nations called early that morning to say that his wife had been vomiting all night and he needed her help to get the job started. So we agreed on delaying the work til the next day so that she would have time to recover. When the Nations arrived the next day to do the work, Mr Nations asked in a loud accusing tone if there had been more water damage since he made the estimate. I said no but he continued to insist saying a new roof didn't mean there hadn't been more damage. He said it was worse than he remembered it. He suggested that I was trying to get him to do work that was not in the contract. This dispute was not resolved. When he said they were finished the next day, I ask about the damage in the hall ceiling and he said that it was not water damage it was due to settling and it would require a drywall patch to fix. He sited his 10 years experience in the business. I said it should have been fixed but he said it was not in the conract and he was right, it was not. I was very upset because the area was not ready for painting. I will attempt to attach a photo of this area. Because this area required attention and I was pleased with the work he completed, I ask him the following day to give us another estimate on the damage in the hall and taping that needed to be done due to settling, also some water damage around a set of windows. He gave us an estimate of $525 and said he would send us a contract. This verbal agreement was arrived at when he came to clean up and retrieve his equipment. That was 11/29/13. Because we had not received the contract and because we had specified the work needed to be done while the college student was on Christmas break, I called 12/13/13 and inquired if he still was interested in the job, that we had not received a contract. By e-mail said he would like to do the work some time in late January because he was too busy to do it before then. This means then that the painting will be delayed and the job will not be finished for some time. While Mr. Nations has shown he is capable of doing excellent work, I am disappointed that the work has not been completed. We have decided to secure bids to do the work from other contractors since Mr. Nations is so much in demand.

I tore down a wall length mirror in my living room which destroyed the drywall behind it. The wall was approximately 12'x8'. I sent a message to Nations Drywall & two others highly rated providers. They were the first to respond & came out to give a quote the next day. After accepting the quote I was given an approximate date and told they would contact me a week before to schedule a specific time to do the work. I received a call one where we arranged for Richard and his wife to show up at 8am on Thursday the next week. They showed up approximately 10 minutes early that Thursday and stayed till approximately noon. During that time the drywall was hung, joints taped, and 3 layers of mud placed over the tape (the first 2 were quick drying and the last one was regular slow drying mud). The next day they again showed up approximately 10 minutes early (7:50am) and quickly completed the sanding / finish. After work was complete they vacuumed and left the place cleaner then it was before they arrived on Thursday. NOTE: after they arrived on Thursday I requested that they patch another place in the house where the tape had come lose. They agreed for a very reasonable $35.

We're doing an extensive remodel of the home and Nation's Drywall was probably the best contractor we've dealt with throughout this whole experience. Richard is very punctual, he follows up with you throughout the whole process, and he's reasonably priced. Every time Nation's said they would be there they were either on time or a few minutes early and Richard always called the day prior to working to remind us they would be there. I would highly recommend Nation's to anyone needing dry wall repairs.

They were outstanding to work with and meticulous. They are punctual. The work was done exactly as expected and on time. The price was reasonable. I would highly recommend them.

Richard completed repairs in several locations in my house. I didn't know how easy this could be accomplished so I had put off the repairs for a while. After Richard was contacted, he repaired cracks from the house settling and repaired ceiling damaged from water leakage. He was very professional and put my mind at ease as I had just had new carpet installed. His work was fantastic and I appreciate him taking great care to protect my new carpets. I will definetly uses his services again in the future!

I have used the company befofe. Rich and his wife were professional, polite and repaired the drywall as requested. They cleaned all the areas when finished and removed all debris.

Excellent. He called twice and held off doing the job as he was afraid freezing weather would hurt the job. He was on time, friendly, and quick.

Richard came to see the drywall that needed repair on the same day that I called him. After looking at the damaged areas, he told me that he was booked up through the week of July 15 and would that be acceptable; it was. Richard called me the next day with the cost of the project and I accepted his price. When Richard first arrived on Tuesday, July 16th, he walked through the house reviewing the places that required his expertise. Next, he and his helper immediately went to work placing heavy plastic sheeting on and around all the areas to be drywalled. Their quickness in preparation was amazing. Once everything was covered in the Family Room, Richard began working on the main damaged area while his helper finished placing the plastic over anything and everything that needed covering. Once they started removing the damaged area, I had a doctor's appointment and had to leave. Before leaving, Richard said once they finished, they'd be back the next morning to put on the next layer of mud. When I returned home a few hours later, they were gone and all drywall was repaired with the first coat of mud on the drywall. Besides being aware of the great work they had done, I also noticed no mess was left anywhere. The plastic remained in place until the entire job was completed. Nations Drywall started the job on Tuesday, July 16, returned to do a second layer of mud for a short time on Wednesday morning, and completed the work including all the clean up by Thursday morning. Their work ethic and their drywall repair was above reproach as everything was done to perfection. Richard told me drywall is their main focus and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs drywall or plastering done. I'm already making a list of a few other places where I will need Nations Drywall at a later date. Their company is the only one with whom I will now do business.

Top-quality work at a reasonable price with superb professionalism and customer service. That sums up my experience with Nations Drywall. After fixing the underlying foundation problem, I had a large, complex project to correct extensive drywall cracking, torqueing and separation caused by the prior foundation movement. Nations responded quickly to my initial call, gave me a clear and reasonable estimate (which was also the final price), scheduled the project to meet my needs, arrived promptly as promised each day, did excellent work, cleaned the house to better-than-when-they-arrived status, and were professional, courteous and cordial throughout. I recommend them without reservation.

He called with an opening in his schedule and worked out a convenient time for us. He and his wife came over at the scheduled time on Tuesday afternoon, set up and made the repairs. They covered the floor and furniture, set up fans and did a great job. His wife came back today and did the sanding and finished the job. I was very impressed. We have been wanting to paint the living room for years, but never knew who we could get to fix the ceiling cracks. I would highly recommend their work.

Richard and his wife did repairs to water damaged ceilings in two rooms of our home. He was very prompt at returning our phone call and coming out for a bid. He was also very patient when we had to reschedule the repair several times. They prepped for the job by covering and taping off all areas very thoroughly with plastic and removing all plastic and tape when completed. He even had to deal with our three kids and two dogs who kept trying to peek through the plastic to see what he was doing! :) He did a fantastic job and my room was clean everything back in it's place when he finished! A+++ job!!!!

Found Nations Drywall via Angie's list and can add myself to the number of satisfied customers using this provider. I contacted Richard via email with a high level scope of my thoughts. He came out within 2 days to scope the project and provided an estimate for two different routes. One was to patch and remove popcorn texture for all continuous surfaces that would be affected. The other was to patch and match the popcorn texture. We chose the latter for price, complexity, and uniformity throughout the house. It was 1 1/2 day job that was completed in a very professional and clean manner. This company is trustworthy - I gave them a garage code and unsupervised access to the house with no worries. They are a very easy company to work with and I'd certainly use them again for any related projects I may have in the future.

Richard and Tammy were prompt, professional, friendly, did a good job and clean up. The cost was as estimated and was reasonable. If the need arises we would not hesitate to have them do the job.

Richard and his wife were awesome! He was quick to visit the house for an estimate and was able to schedule us in only a few days after his estimate. He and his helper arrived on time, were very careful to lay down protective plastic on the floors and walls, and quickly got to work. The quality of work was excellent; the ceiling repairs blend in perfectly and the walls were repaired to a smooth, flat finish that is unnoticeable after repainting. They did a great job cleaning up after they finished and I wouldn't hesitate to call Richard the next time we need drywall repair!

We had an upstairs hallway and ceiling which led down the stairs and onto a wall in the foyer which had been painted with a very uneven coat of sand paint. There were spots on the walls and ceiling where large chunks of sand had been deposited and the walls were very rough. Nation's did an absolutely fantastic job of sanding the walls and applying several skim coats to smooth everything out. Not only did they fix that problem, they also repaired several spots where the drywall seams were popping out. Richard first came out to survey the job and was very responsive in getting back to me right away with a quote. I thought the quote was extremely reasonable. Given the height of the walls and the amount of work, it would have taken my husband and I forever to do this- and probably with less than outstanding results. Once started, I can't believe how quick and efficient the process was! They were so careful to shield the areas around the work with plastic and did a fantastic job of cleaning up all the residual sand and drywall materials. Bottom line, the walls look absolutely amazing! I will refer friends to Nation's and will definitely use them again myself in the future!

Absolutely smooth from start to finish. So much so that I have asked for a quote on another repair already. Rich and his wife arrived while I was on a conference call and got right to work. The wall was patched and the first coat of mud was halfway dry before I finished my call. They did a great job and I really appreciated that they got after it while I attended to work matters. Three coats of mud and the area looks like their repair will be completely invisible once it is painted. They left the work area even cleaner than they found it...always a bonus. Rich even fixed some additional defects for me in advance of the painting that this whole mess has necessitated. Now I just need to have them back to fix the much bigger piece of drywall that I had to cut out in advance of a foundation epoxy job... UPDATE: Two additional notes...first, they also came up with a way to patch the wall in the closet adjacent to the area they repaired in the living room. This patch was at the junction between two walls and the ceiling. It was a difficult thing to accomplish but their repair vanished once the mud dried. Second, the living room was painted today and their repair vanished. I asked the professional painter for his opinion on the drywall repair job that he covered up and he said it was top-notch.

We had a small bedroom with half textured walls and half damaged from wallpaper removal. There was adhesive residue from the wallpaper still on the wall and many gouges and drywall damage from the removal process. Also many large nail holes to be filled - when I do these myself they tend to "bubble" and you can always tell where the holes were. Richard responded quickly to my call and gave an estimate along with a detailed explanation of what he would do - he seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. He and his wife sanded the textured walls, filled all the holes, and applied a finishing layer (this had a name - it escapes me right now) from floor to ceiling. They worked efficiently (finished in two half-days) and took great care to contain the dust to that room and cleaned up completely when they were finished. The completed room looked as close to new as I've ever seen. I was VERY happy with their response time, professionalism, and quality of their work. I thought the cost of the project was very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to call Richard again for future projects. Thank you so much!

In August 2012 my roof leaked during a rainstorm which saturated the existing drywall ceiling in a small bedroom. A portion of the ceiling collapsed leaving an opening approximately 4 feet in diameter. I contacted my insurance company and about a week later an adjuster inspected the damage and gave me an estimate for the repair cost. I obtained repair estimates from three local drywall repair businesses. One estimate was about twice as much as the insurance estimate, another was a little more than half, and the third was about the same. I chose the one that was about the same as the insurance estimate. That estimate came from Nations Drywall Repair owned by Richard Nation. Richard was busy but was able to start on my project within two weeks. Richard was a very good communicator telling me each day what he planned to do and how the work was progressing. Richard arrived on time each day and worked efficiently, not wasting any time. He is an expert drywall installer, the quality of his work was excellent. Richard and his assistant were professional and polite. They were responsive to my questions. The price was reasonable. I certainly recommend Nations Drywall Repair to all. I wish all contractors were as professional and as easy to work with as Richard Nation.

We had a small leak in the upstairs bathroom and it was due to a pipe that had been punctured by a different drywall company. The guy came out after we called and we explained that we needed a spot re-drywalled over our stove. He went ahead and repaird our water damaged area over the stove. Well, two months later a spot shows up in the same spot as before. We figure, we just have to have our upstairs bathroom completetly remodelled so we have a company come out and remodel the bathroom to find the leak once and for all. $2500 dollars later, nice new bathroom, but when the tore the ceiling down in the kitchen to find the leak, they found that the drywall guy from Nations Drywall Repair had put a screw thru the pipe when he was fixing our water damage the last time! Said they should have put a guard over the studs so that it wouldn't go through the pipe. So basically we paid 600 bucks for them to create a leak for us and ruin our kitchen again.

Richard and his wife do fantastic work. They were very professional and always on time. The best dry-walling work I have ever seen. They worked hard and long to meet my deadline. Superb Company - Great People. No need to look any further for any of your drywall needs...! Thank You Richard.

They came, they saw, and they conquered the job within days which was important because I was under a deadline. I'll use them again if I ever need drywall.

Rich Nation was very prompt in providing an estimate and getting the work done. He did a great job for an exceptional price. Although I was out of town when the actual work was done, he communicated with me to keep me informed of progress. The work entailed resurfacing a ceiling and all walls in a large master bedroom in which several layers of wallpaper had already been removed leaving a lot of damage to the drywall. The popcorn ceiling had also been scraped. Another individual had already tried to do some repairs with joint compound and had only made the situation worse. I had gotten an estimate from another contractor who wanted to just put up new drywall over the old and start all over, and his estimate was MUCH higher. I was not inclined to put up new drywall and couldn't afford that contractor's estimate. I was delighted to hear that Rich was not intimidated by the job and felt confident that he could give me a good finished product although the walls and ceiling would have to be textured rather than smooth. I didn't want heavy texture on the walls and Rich did the job with a very nice, light texture. The ceiling got a little heavier texture and looks great - at least it's not popcorn! After I got it all painted over, the room looks awesome. He also did a great job of isolating the work from the rest of the house so that there was no dust everywhere to deal with and he left everything clean.

All of the work was EXCELLENT. I would recommend this company to family and friends.
