On the day of service, Nick showed up on time, did my variety of list of projects- baseboard replacements, hung shelves, fixed screen door and electrical switches.. All went well, and did a very nice job. Very nice and professional.

My sincere apologies for the delay in my review, because Shoe and his crew are simply incredible!!! This was a week long job and a complete bathroom renovation outside of the tub/shower. Shoe gave us an outstanding price for what we wanted done....over a thousand or more from other contractors. He and his crew were professional, polite, and fun for me to work at home with the entire week. They provided excellent guidance and design ideas as well as some areas to complete ourselves so we could save money. Out outdated, tiled bathroom with yellow floor and blue fixtures went through a complete and modern transformation. They walked me through each day and what would be completed, and left everything cleaner than they found it. I honestly cannot thank these guys enough! We have received a ton of complements on our new bathroom, and it was money well spent. I can't wait until we have a new project, Shoe is the first guy I'm going to call!!!

Overall, once I got on their schedule, it all went great. We had a little difficulty getting scheduled. Nick showed up a few minutes early. He was polite and professional. He took care to protect my new floors and consulted with me when he had a question. I thought that we would have to fill the nail holes when he was done but was pleasantly surprised that he performed that task as part of the installation. We not only got the 3 rooms done that I had planned but he offered that he still had some time and could complete a 4th room since I had enough baseboard materials. I was thrilled. The baseboards and doors look great. I plan to call them again when I need some carpentry work done.

I did not hear anything from the company until early May (I paid them in late March). At that point, I was told that Mike (owner) would be in touch within a week to work out the details. After hearing nothing, I called his assistant who said she was at another job now but would make sure that someone followed up with me. I have tried two more times to contact Mike to schedule the service I have already paid for and even sent photos of the damage in the hopes of demonstrating that it should be an easy job. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

My experience matches so many who have already reported. I have called several times and gotten no response despite paying $149.00 in advance. I want a refund. This is a case where giving more weight to reports in which the work was done incorrectly skews the record in favor of the business. Even after following up with Angie's List where he agreed to a deadline to resolve the situation, he never even responded to me to get the project going. Can I give him a double F?

It didn't go well at all! First of all I purchased 2 of the providers big deals which were $149.00 for 1/2 days work each on September 8, 2012. Mike Welch (shoe) called to let me know that he had many people buy his deal and asked if I'd be patient. He said since I had outside work he was going to try to get to me before the weather got bad. Long story short, I didn't get my work done until May 8, 2013, (8 MONTHS LATER). Nick came and replaced the trim and treated and painted it. The window looks good. He painted 3 decorative vents in the front. He was supposed to paint my front door and fix a door knob but ran out of time. The one vent didn't look good at all so I called Shoe. He came by and looked and it and called me to say he agreed that it needed to be repainted. Since we had to wait so long he agreed to paint the front door and fix the door knob too. I called him every week because I was having a party and wanted the work done before it. Shoe assured me he'd have it done by June 20th. I never heard from him again. I once again left many messages for him but never heard a word from him. He never once tried to met me when he came by to look at our job. I think this is very unprofessional. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Although communication was not the best, once job was scheduled it went like clockwork. Mike sent Nick to do the job. Nick has done work for us in the past and he always is punctual and very professional and friendly.

I attempted to contact the company by phone and then by email to schedule work. My wife attempted to contact by phone on two occasions both of which no contact could be made and no return call. We originally purchased a Big Deal coupon for 6 hours of contracting work however the coupon is useless without contact with the company.

All requested work was completed - no complaints!

They were supposed to come out and do some woodwork. I have been trying to 6 weeks to get them to respond or set something up. I have spoken to the receptionist who said that she is trying to get in touch with him to get him to respond. I haven't heard anything yet. I am in the process of getting a refund through Angie's List.

It took several weeks to get him to respond. Mailbox was full. When he did respond, he was courteous but too busy to set a date and find materials to match wood. It took another 2 or 3 weeks to get him to commit to a day to do the work. I was concerned, but when he did come and complete the job, his man was prompt, courteous and did a great job. It just took so long.

They did excellent work, were very punctual, and had a very fair price. There were three people which included the owner of the company and a couple of workers. All three of them were very professional and did a great job. They also cleaned up after themselves very nicely. I am absolutely going to use them in the future because I'm trying to get another project going right now as a matter of fact.

They patched drywall until I was completely satisfied with it

Shoe was wonderful to work with my work schedule comcerning communication and scheduling. I work night shfit and sleep during the day so communication can sometimes be an issue. He sent Nick who arrived a few minutes early. Nick removed a rotted door opening then installed a new door and new handle along with a new storm door into an old brick doorway opening. The house is old but Nick did a great job fitting the doors into the not so aligned opening. The finished job looks amazing!! Then he realigned a vinyl storm door that no longer would close shut. He was very neat and cleaned up when done. He was very friendly and a pleasure to have him work in my home. I will schedule them again for more needed work to be done. My project did not require quite all the hours I purchased on AL so Nick was clear that my 'left over' hour would be included in a near future project which was discussed at this time. Great company!!!

They arrived on time at 8AM, fixed a door with locking problem, then laid down tarps on my hardwood floor and started working on the range hood installation. Shoe and his worker were very professional and polite. Because of the thickness of the wall, it took them a long time to complete the job, but I could tell that Shoe was a patient and detail oriented person. It did take a few emails and phone calls to have the work scheduled, but Shoe recently hired a lady to answer phones and help with scheduling, it was not too difficult. All in all, for $149, the job is well worth it.

Very well. I would recommend Mike "Shoe" and his crew to anyone.

He came to my house to look over a job we needed done in our basement. He never called me to let me know what, or when he could do the job. I called twice and never got a response. I have no idea if the job wasn't big enough for him, or he couldn't get it done in the amount of time we needed it done, or what. We just needed some doors put in and some trim work put in and some flooring done. I at least expect someone to let me know if they can't do the job, or what the reason was. I'd even understand it it was hunting season or something, But, I at least expected the curtesy of a call back.

Work went great. The day Nick was supposed to show up, was probably the busiest day of the month for me so he actually got there around 7:30 so I could still leave the house on time which was great. Showed him what I wanted to do and then I had to leave. I didn't make it but 1 minute up the road and forgot something so had to go back to the house and when I went in, he already had his tools out of the truck and was already working. When I got back later that day, if the work hadn't been done, I wouldn't have known anybody was there because there was no trace of him, as he cleaned up any mess that might have been made. I enjoyed the experience thus far from Shoe coming to the house to look at the work I needed to perform to Nick coming out to do the work. Both great guys.

Upon calling them a date was set for there visit, they arrived promptly, provided a very detailed estimate, they went into great detail on the services they would provide. Unfortunately it wasn't within our budget and had to go in a different direction. They were the most professional group.

It took a bit less time than he had quoted me which made me happy. I would have M&W come back for any house job I needed.

The total cost included the cost of the materials and the labor and I know that their charges were not the bulk of it and that it was mostly materials. They did a fantastic job. They did a really impressive job in keeping the area clean when they left every day. They did a really thorough job of cleanup and they were meticulous in their attention to detail. The fire looks excellent. I already scheduled them for another job.

They were friendly and on time. They were flexible on what needed to be done and got them right.

I contacted Shoe about a large remodel/update project I had going on that was moving at an extremely slow pace due to a prior contractor who was not serious about getting the job done and was doing sub par work when I sped him along. Shoe responded promptly, I emailed him at 10pm and had a response within 30 minutes. He came out twice to review the entire job and provide estimates to me. We deemed the floors as being the first priority, we were doing tile in the basement and vinyl in the kitchen, etc. His prices were better than the prior contractor and the work performed was completed in the time states and was of better quality. I don't have any complaints, Shoe has been great to work with. After using him for the floors and being completely satisfied I have decided to use Shoe and his team on the rest of the job and will report back when completed. Very easy to work with, informative, and cost effective.

It went very well. Shoe and I had a little trouble getting a hold of each other to begin with because we were both so busy and then as luck would have it, his guy who specializes in the storm doors had just had a baby, so he wasn't available that week. Which was fine, I knew it was short notice and asking a lot. Shoe knew I had company coming over the following week so he was able to schedule me in the following Monday and his guy showed up promptly at 8 this morning as was scheduled. To be honest it was raining so I thought I'd get a call to reschedule, but he was there on time and got to work on the front door that was covered by a porch. He ran into some problems created by whoever trimmed out the front door when the house was built, they had done something weird with the metal trim over the wood. He was however able to pull it off and fix it and then proceed with the door. When he finished it looked great and you'd never know he had to remove the aluminum trim and put it back on. The first door took a little while to get done, but then after lunch the rain was gone and the second door was a breeze. He was able to get the new fan installed without incident, I only mention that because I've had a couple of different companies do fans for me in the past and botched it up, but Shoe's company didn't have an issue. He even waited an extra 10 minutes while my wife ran to the drug store to buy a specialty battery the remote needed so we could test the fan. Everything looks great, he cleaned up after himself as he went and left very little evidence that work had just taken place. I would highly recommend M W Construction services for your next job.
