It was great! They were very professional and did an excellent job. I had no problems scheduling the service either. In fact, I gave them more money than they asked for because I was so happy with the work that they did.

CertaPro was on time, very professional, and very knowledgeable about its product. Furthermore, they completed the job on time and did excellent work. We felt that the quality of their service was worth every penny.

Very professional. Very friendly and thorough with the entire project. He was very detail oriented. He went out of his way to acquire the desired look I wanted for the house & front porch. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable painting contractor. I would also call him again for future painting and staining needs.

The guy who painted was very unprofessional.

Promised by end of April job would be done. Contractor did not keep me informed after April 30th passed. I had to keep calling them. After May 20th. Certa Pro gave my job to a sub named Mike Leach & he called me and got the job done to my satisfaction. I am very pleased with his work.

I had a great experience. Alan went over every detail of the estimate and explained what/how they were going to proceed with the job. He was able to give me a price as well as a printed explanation of their services specific to my home's needs on the spot. The price was lower than what I was expecting it to be. We have not completed the project due to other home projects requiring our attention. If we plan to proceed with painting the exterior of the house, we will be using CertaPro.

Professional, highly organized and skilled only begin to describe Matt. From our initial consultation to jobs-end Matt demonstrated that he is the gold standard when it comes to professional service delivery personalized to his customer's needs. Apart from doing an incredible job he has a genuine and light-hearted personality and was even kind enough to carry around dog treats to win over our chihuahua Coco (ok, she's not really a tough customer but she appreciated the thoughtful gesture all the same). I would not consider anyone but Matt for our next painting project. As an aside, Matt is part of BNI group which is also excellent; we have used their group for a Realtor to list our home, an inspector, a fence guy and handy man services; all have been excellent.

CertaPro Painters of Saint Charleswas the worst company I have ever done business with. Their price was a bit high but they said they had painters with 20 - 30 years experience. They sent out two 18 year old boys, one of whom was in training. The boys used the wrong paint. When I called to complain they said it was a misunderstanding and they would come back out and fix it. When they came back they didn't repaint everything. They did a hurried job and I could see where they missed stuff. I was still dissatisfied so I called them again and they said there wasn't anything they could do. So I told them I would never tell anyone to use them. If you need painters run as fast as you can to someplace else.

Good paint job. Cleanup was good but my wife cleaned a little more detail after crew left.

They did an excellent job and the prices were reasonable. The only thing I would say would be the guy that was actually doing the painting he kept forgetting to bring a broom. This was before we moved in. We bought the house and we had it painted before we moved in. There was a little bit of dirt on the floor. He cleaned up before he left but he didn't do a very good job sweeping up the little bits of dry paint. But the actual job of the painting was excellent.

The craftsmanship on this project was extremely poor. We realize no complex job like painting is completed perfectly the first time. However, the quantity of problems was very high. More troubling was that we had to ask over and over for a problem to be fixed (an example is having to ask 3 times for the tops of the window and door frames to be stained). The Staining work had 87 problems on the original Punch List. It took 6 Punch Lists to finally rectify the job! The Interior Painting work had 49 problems on the original Punch List, and also took several subsequent lists to make the corrections. We spent many hours doing the quality control work that we felt CertaPro should be doing. Examples of the poor workmanship: 1. Our interior doors had large circles on them after the painters said the job was complete. These circles were from the doors being stained while laying on 5-gallon paint buckets. 2. Big drips of stain, and pooled stain, left on the doors and windows 3. Fingerprints in the stain 4. Many areas of wall paint that got onto surrounding trim 5. Quite a few areas that were completely missed. Finally, we were disappointed not be offered any discount to reflect the workmanship problems/challenges and schedule inconveniences encountered during the job.

This is a stellar company and far surpassed any other contractor I?ve employed for fairly extensive home improvements (note this evaluation is only for the CertaPro franchise owned by Alan Dickherber in St. Charles MO). I highly recommend them, but also suggest you delay payment until final touch-ups are completed (see below). They provided a comprehensive estimate and addressed all questions. They ?sub out? all work, but only use proven experienced painters. The painters were indeed very capable, hardworking and great representatives for CertaPro. There was sufficient communication between the owner and painters to oversee the job and discuss/resolve any issues. They provided significant guidance on color selection (this was well above the call of duty and greatly appreciated). They were very nice and a pleasure to work with. The job started on time and continued uninterrupted until job completion (except for touch-ups; see below). They did an excellent job. The finished product looks great. The only nit I have is that they should use brushes more to push paint into deep wood crevices and behind down spouts, rather than relying on rollers. This may have caused the need for an additional coat of paint on one side of the house. Unfortunately, they finished in the dark. They should have returned the next day to inspect the job and finish required touch-ups. Instead, they assigned me to define required touch-ups and to call if they needed to come back. There were 20 touch-ups required; most minor (small over-paint marks) but some major (surfaces not painted). It required 2-3 hours to finish. They returned about 3 weeks later and were too motivated to talk me out of the bigger touch-ups. Although a little stressful, they ultimately agreed to return a few weeks later (5 weeks after initial completion) to finish all contracted work.
