I have completed 2 jobs for budget as a sub contractor. They are refusing to pay my invoices, because they claim they can't find the paperwork in there system. They have been paid by the customer on both jobs, and have provided the customer with lien waivers stating they all contractors have been paid. They owe me $19,000. DO NOT USE Budget.

Here we go again 🥵🥵🥵, Hasn’t even been a year and my 2 yr old A/C unit is broken…..for the FOURTH time. Took 2 weeks to get someone out to even diagnose the problem. Have to wait again to make an appointment until after they get the part in which should hopefully be Friday…..3 weeks with no A/C….again, with a young child and disabled veteran with asthma in the house 😒 Turns out it’s a manufacturing defect, 4th time was the charm I guess….didn’t stop them from charging me the $70 dispatch fee though 😒 a brand new system I paid over $6,000 for, the 4th time in a little over 2 years it has needed fixing because of a manufacturing defect…..and they still charged me the fee 🤯. Same sentiment I had when I posted my last review here on 08/01/2022……Save yourself the stress and money….go with someone else, someone who won’t let you sit around for weeks at a time in a 90 degree house with a practically brand new system that is again nothing more than a paperweight 😒 Technician was awesome.

This company cleaned and checked our furnace and A/C unit before the purchase of our home. The previous homeowner chose budget heating and cooling. We asked the homeowner for the furnace to be cleaned and checked that it works properly because the inspector found it to be dirty and short cycling. We came back through for our final walk-through and didn’t see that the furnace was actually clean so they had to come back out, at that time the tech found an issue with our furnace. The service manager did not believe that there was an issue because the tech was a new employee, so he came out and checked everything himself and said there is no problems! Great…so we thought. After 80° last week in November it has now dropped to 32° outside so we switched over to heat mode. Well lo and behold our furnace is not working like the original tech suggested. I called and requested that the charge would be waived because the original tech found an issue and then the manager said no…now we’re stuck with the problem. After explaining our situation the office manager was rude, unfriendly, and completely had no empathy for the fact that we have 3 very small children and it’s freezing cold outside. She said they came in September and it’s been so long that they won’t back up their work. She said I’m going to have to charge you. Even though it was September when they came and now it’s November we haven’t needed our furnace yet! I told her of all people she should understand that. Though it’s only $70 to have them come out we would rather give our money to ANYone but this company. Thank you for reading this far and if you got here, take this as a very strong warning to not use this company… it’s just not worth the hassle if you were to need them to back their work. They just don’t. You can’t even be sure they would get it right the first time.
Description of Work: To clean and ensure the furnace was working properly before the purchase of our home. After multiple visits and separate charges it is still not right and they want to charge yet again!

Update #3 They called again today 8/2 (at 540pm) to reschedule my appointment for Sunday 8/7, apparently there was an emergency request at another house. Then tried to tell me my 3 yr labor warranty had expired on my 1 1/2yr old unit so I would need to pay for labor…..then tried to tell me I was just going to have to pay the $70 dispatch fee….the one they waved when they rescheduled me the first time on 7/29 😒 You would think not having A/C when we have a Heat advisory tomorrow because it will be a heat index of 109 degrees would be an emergency especially when young children and pets are involved but I guess not…….Stuck with them because I have a 3 yr labor and 5 yr parts warranty so if I go with anyone else I have to pay out of pocket. I’m a single mother and a permanently disabled war veteran, please save your self the immense stress they continue to put me under just because they hold the warranty to my A/C. Updating this review as my A/C has died…..again, for the second time in less than 3 months. The unit was installed Feb 2021…..it’s not even a year and a half old yet but I digress. I called on Wed 7/27 and had an appointment for Friday 7/29 after 12. Received a phone call at 3:50 letting me know the technician went home sick (hope they are ok) and had to reschedule for Tue 8/2 after 12pm…..6 days before anyone will even be able to come out and diagnose what the problem is. The customer service representative was incredible and they waived my $69 dispatch fee. It is 85 degrees in my house right now and my animals are having a very hard time with this heat, not to mention my 4 yr old as well. Again, if you want fast service and don’t like sitting around in your sweat or have animals that have a hard time in the heat, this is not the company for you. If you need service quickly this company is NOT for you. I first called them on the 26th of April because my unit I bought through them (only 1yr and 2 months old!!!) was not cooling, they could not fit me in until the 2nd which wasn’t bad but the very experienced technician told me he had to order a part…….it came on the 6th, they called me the NEXT DAY to schedule an appointment for the 12th of May. THE DAY BEFORE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE OVER 90 DEGREES FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW. Mind you my PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW UNIT was not working now I have to figure out how to WORK FROM HOME WITH A FOUR YR OLD IN OVER 90 DEGREE HEAT BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE FIXED UNTIL 2 WEEKS LATER. Save your self the stress and heat…..go with someone else!!!!!

Be VERY careful if you have to deal with this company. They were assigned to me through my home warranty company for a water heater repair, which turned out needing to be replaced. The hw company only covers certain things (which is normal), so this company felt the need to add on several items as additional charges. Some were legitimate, however they had a few things that they said were needed to bring things "up to code". When I called them to ask about it, first they said it was "manufacturer's code", something that the warranty company said didn't exist. So I called my city's board of code enforcement. Two of the three things this company wanted to charge were legitimate (expansion tank & lead free shut off valve) and one (the most expensive thing they listed, a pressure reducing valve) was not; the person at the code office couldn't even figure out why they'd try to list that. Not only that, but the technicians didn't even look at my main water line (which is where the PRV is) to see if one was even present. This matters since the PRV is covered under my home warranty plan, so repairing it would have been a covered expense. Instead they wrote it up as needing to install one, which they didn't even verify if one was there. On top of that this company wanted to charge DOUBLE the fee for a permit (permit fee is actually $65, they want to charge $125). On top of all that, one of their modification charges was flu "modifying" they flu yet they wanted to charge me extra for a new flu. Call me crazy, but if you're putting in a new part, you're not modifying it. Tried to talk to office personnel about this, would get transferred around and the last time I called once I started questioning their charges to much I was put on hold and then hung up on with no call back. Luckily I did not have to use this company as the home warranty company allowed for a second opinion and I was able to use that company instead.

The was a home warranty repair. First of all, the plumber opened a valve to drain the lines and went to his truck. While he was out there I hear a loud pop and rushing water in the basement. I ran downstairs and water was spraying out about 6 feet into my basement onto a table, a lamp and a Bose portable speaker. When he came back down he seemed surprised that this had happened. He installed a new spigot and left. About an hour later when I went downstairs, the new spigot he installed was leaking. I called the company directly hoping to get them back out right away. They told me that I had to go back through the home warranty company. I asked if they could at least get the guy scheduled to come back out that day, since it was leaking. The girl on the phone told me they couldn't do anything until I went back through the home warranty company.

Called early Friday morning 07/21/17. My husband is a disabled veteran with a breathing disorder. AHS set up an appointment with them on Friday 07/21/17 for Monday 07/24/17. We explained my husband has a medical condition and we were told we would be expedited. I called multiple times over the past 4 days and no one would return my call. This morning Monday my husband is throwing up. I can not get hold of them to see if they could come early. They still have not returned my calls. I might be at the hospital by the 2 pm appointment today with my husband. If someone could have at least returned all calls it would have been appreciated. I don't like to leave negative reviews. My family is important to me and Budget heating and cooling could not even return our calls.

AMAZING! Friendly. Easy to work with. I seldom write reviews, but when I do it's never positive, but this company IS everything positive! They didn't try to sell me something I couldn't afford. They found an option that worked within my budget. Couldn't ask for more. I'd recommend them to everyone. AMAZING!

Horrible. See above. Will never use them again, or AHS home warranty.
Description of Work: I had a burst pipe. Home warranty company sent Budgrt out. Plumber was extremely heavy, poked around a little, said it was a burst pipe. Not covered by warranty but told him to go ahead and fix. He said he didn't want to do the job. I asked if I still had to pay a 75 co-pay but he said he'd wave it. Well he didn't. AHS kept harassing me with payment emails so I paid it because I have excellent credit.

Here are the results after one year: 1) The toilet still worked. So Budget did fix them (fingers crossed). 2) 3 months later, one of the sump pump pipes burst at a joint and leaked water all over our basement. The home warranty company wanted to send Budget out again, I insisted they send someone else. The different plumbing company showed me how the pipes were forced together, so after a while, the pipes' joint could not hold. The new plumbing company had to redo all the pipes. 3) Exactly a year later, the water heater valve is leaking again. Budget said it is out of warranty by 6 days, so we have to pay them to come out. No chance will I use them again Now I am hoping the water pressure regulator does not burst. I do not trust anything Budget had done, and I am constantly monitoring the items they've installed. If anything they've done goes wrong, our entire finished basement would be flooded.
Description of Work: We just purchased our home a year ago, and several plumbing items broke immediately. The home warranty company sent Budget Plumbing out to repair 3 items for us: 1) Leaking low-flow toilets. Budget replaced the parts in the toilet. This was covered by the home warranty. 2) Replace a sump pump that stopped working. Budget came to replace it, installing new pipes for the new sump pump. This was covered by the home warranty. 3) The house did not have a water pressure regulator, which caused the water heater valve to leak due to high water pressure. The home warranty company did not cover either item. Budget installed a new water pressure regulator and replaced the water heater valve, which we paid out of pocket.

They haven't done any work yet. They're just playing games. They're giving the home warranty company one quote and then telling me a different price. The amount of quote they gave the home warranty company was $1989. When I told them, "Hey, what can I do with this quote? What demolition stuff do I need to get ready?" The guy was like, "Where did you get the $2000 quote?" Now they're saying that they were going to go ahead and see what they could do or whatever. But it sounds like they were trying to hike up the price again. The technician himself who I talked to yesterday said he would give me a call back by close of business today. It's now the next day and I still haven't heard from him. It's horrible business. They haven't given me a straight answer on price.

The plumber turned the hot water heater all the way up - as hot as it went. When I inquired if this was safe given I have a toddler in the house, he told me it was. Afterwards, our water would go from normal temperature to super hot. We subsequently had plumber from a different company come out who informed us that it was completely unsafe to have the temperature that high and could have burned our daughter in less than a second. Not only did Budget AC, Heating & Plumbing not fix the problem but they created an unsafe environment in our house.

Company came in response to a claim with AHS. I put in claim late on an evening and they contacted me early the next day (SAT), Made an appt for Monday. Justin was the technician who came for the call and quickly spotted that the issue was a clogged pipe which was allowing water to back up into the system. He explained how the pipe should be configured better and told me at the pieces I could use to DIY. No hard sell of anything!

Was assigned this company from our American Home Shield policy. They were great about contacting me and getting out right away. They even send an email with name and photo of the tech. That's great. However, I was told I needed to have my outside unit cleaned before they could put coolant in. They charge $120 for that. It just had some grass from a recent mowing. Spraying it off with a hose would do the trick. Then $65 (I was told this was the discounted rate for AHS members) per pound for coolant. I was looking at $400. I called a friend in the HVAC business and asked if this was legit. He said that was outrageous. I asked the tech to leave. He was very polite but wanted to collect the $75 for the service call. I refused to pay. I told him I know he is following his company policy but those charges were too much. My friend came over and charged the AC. Cleaned it too. I got the super fantastic friend price but he said his normal charge would be about 1/2 of that I was going to get charged. I called AHS to complain but they do not care. Then I have been trying to cancel and that is a supreme run around. When you try to do it online it keep getting a server error message. Hmmm. Budget you started out so good but your charges are a budget breaker.

Response from Budget Heating, Cooling & Plumbing
[member name removed], we apologize for your poor experience with us. Unfortunately we can't give our services or products away for free. According to American Home Shield(for which this complaint applies to, not us) your policy did not cover what was needed to get your unit up and working again. RJ offered you options to help reduce the costs but you became frustrated and sent him away. The 1-time cleaning fee is a top-down cleaning and 29-point inspection but he also offered the full maintenance agreement (couples the furnace with the A/C). We understand this can sometimes be more than what is desired but RJ did inform you that you could rinse the outdoor unit off yourself and then he could proceed with his repairs. Unfortunately no business can compete with the 'Super Fantastic Friend Price' which in large part seems to be your primary complaint. After you look through the work order the amount quoted to you was rather agreeable(Service Fee, Refrigerant, 1-Time Cleaning or Maintenance Agreement). In the end your Home Warranty company didn't cover your claim. Your complaint is misplaced and needs to be directed towards your Home Warranty company, a third-party company, and not Budget.

Came back from Costa Rica's 80 degree temps to a cold house. I was assigned this firm thru my Home Warranty Policy. I called the company around 9am, had the intake person take the call, Then i received a call from someone else telling me a tech could come by in the afternoon. They would call me again when the technician was on site at the previous job and would call again when he was headed to my location. Received another call asking for an email address to send me a picture of my technician. That was an interesting feature, and appreciated by the single woman i am. Received the two update calls as planned and Jeff showed up within 10 minutes. I explained what i was experiencing, he said it was probably the flame sensor (or something) i showed him the furnace and asked if I should leave him to it, and he said he did not mind showing me. He did not talk down to me, but did show me exactly what the problem was and showed me how I could fix it myself next time. A 10 minute fix. He recommended a humidifier, gave me an estimate, explained the benefit and left it up to me. No hard sell, which i appreciate. The whole experience was top notch!!!
Description of Work: Fixed my furnace, by cleaning the flame ignitor thingy.
