Affordable AC

OK. Just doing their job for the warranty company. Did not use them for repair, so I cannot fairly evaluate them.

Installer John Hoffman and his friend arrived at about 5pm after his regular job with Williams. He does side jobs. Did not have enough sheet metal to fabricate plenum. So while he started work, I went to Home Depot and bought what he needed. He wanted to make frame for plenum from the pallet lumber equipment was shipped on. I told him this was unsatisfactory lumber to use. So I furnished new 2 x 4's and cut them to length and also provided nails. result was a rather crude field fabricated plenum. Installation went on into the night John's torch ran out of acetylene. he did not have proper copper fittings so he used a larger size piece of tubing to Rube Goldberg the line set by filling the gap in diameter with brazing rod. he left abruptly after starting up unit. Th next morning I went out to the outside heat pump and dum-dummed the penetration thru the hose wall and insulated the lime set outside as he had forgotten to do that as well. Additionally he did not have any materials to install a condensate drain, so I did that as well. Heat pump system worked in AC ;mode until September. When heating season came, no heat! Not even emergency heat. I called and talked to John and told him I suspected a freon leak at the Rube Goldberg joint he made. I have since called and left messages for him to come finish the job and he does not answer his cell. I was out of town working and had my wife also call to arrange a time for him to fix. He did not return her calls as well. It is now February and I have been using electric space heaters to keep from freezing. still no John! I will sue in small claims court if he doesn't finish his work. l

John Hoffman (one of the owners) came to the house inspected the A/C unit inside and outside. He tried adding some coolent and that worked for a while, but it was leaking. I was glad he tried to repair it but the unit needed replacing. So he completely replaced it and for a wonderful price (I compared) and we are so pleased with the service we received.
